Strength:

Head turner to drive. Great fun and good advertising.

Weakness:

Repair cost and fuel cost. Road noise and hard to park.

I purcchased my Hummer for advertising my Real Estate business. Everywhere I go people stop me and talk about the Hummer, which is just what I wanted to happen. I put my company name and phone number on the side and see people pass then slow down to read the lettering on the side. So far so good. However it's not cheap to operate as I've already spent over $3,000 in repairs and fuel,

Model Reviewed: Humvee slant back

Strength:

The truck can do almost anything, but why would anyone want to take something that costs this much to the outback and back. It could do it, but be prepared to drop major bucks for repairs because the truck is so damn heavy and wide you have to be experienced in handling such a vehicle. off road prowess is great, head turner for most, original style, look and all that.

Weakness:

Been to the shop several times for squeaks, rattles, interior flaws, transmission, and all kinds of stuff that makes it ridiculous to pay even what I did for it. But I guess, in this case you get what you pay for, which isn't quite much back considering the things that have to be done to it.

The Humvee is a unique vehicle with all the capabilities to go off road and stay there because that's where it should stay. Not on the road, where personally, everytime I take it on the Local Interstate, 280, I get passed by practically every SUV both big and small out there. It's something that shouldn't be, considering what I paid for it. But It's the price you pay for uniqueness to some respect. The diesel engine is really loud especially at highway speed which starts at about sixty and there on. If your not used to a diesel vehicle, be prepared with ear plugs and wads of money to fill up the twenty five plus ninteen reserve tank which I purchased as an option. You'll need it.
What can I say, I just had to have every thing imaginable out there so far, until the H2 arrives. But then again, it's made by GMC, to be seven inches less in width, and even smaller in length, and to have all kinds of independent suspension, and creature features. A good deal at around seventy K or so. But my advice is, don't waist your hard earned money yet and buy something that's already established. I bought the Slant back because after this year, that's it, the H2 will arrive and you won't be able to buy an original hummer, brand new. I bought a 2001 Range Rover also, with the new one coming up next year, and then a G-wagen because there coming up with a new one in a couple of years. And the Land Cruiser, well what can I say, It's my daily and it still has it where it counts. All these vehicles are great, different in how they look, what they do, their costs and suitable for certain conditions.
So in regards to all you potential humvee owners, buy the other toys out there, before you go with a Humvee, because chances are, if you only buy this vehicle and only own one to drive as a daily every single day in and day out, I guarantee you , the appeal will not be so appealing after say a month or so. Try it and see, and you'll find out the hard way. Which is why, I have as many toys as I do. Because it's versatile for my needs and I can afford to do it.
Don't get me wrong, you can do whatever you want to do with your money, it's yours, but before you drop the Large Benjamins, or credit on a vehicle like this, you better do some serious soul searching on what you really need and especially can afford.
Just because I have a lot of vehicles to drive, doesn't mean I'm rich, it's just that God has allowed me to allocate my funds well.

I own a Range Rover, Land Cruiser, and G Wagen, which I feel are worlds better than the Humvee. It's not a bad vehicle, but c'mon, the Range Rover, Land Cruiser, may not have the higher price tag but the quality and durability of these vehicles is by far much better than what the Humvee has to offer. The G-wagen is even a little bit cheaper but still has plenty of panache being that it's a Mercedes and has all the luxury components like it's auto's

Strength:

A truly remarkable suv to own and drive. This is a serious car for the driver that values safety above dough!! - It's going to cost you, but the trucks visability and style turns heads - net result added safety for you. If that does'nt work - the odds are you will be driving the most sturdy car in the accident. A sad but important, (to you), reality.

Weakness:

This is a military vehicle adopted for I95 use - It is geared for off road use - thus what the untutored refer to as poor engine speed. They just don't get it. No getting around it this pig drinks petro like my last name were GETTY. Only two ways to get one bring lots of loot or a 'gat', as in gun to the dealer, either way, this ones going to cost you.

This truck is not for everybody. If your looking for creature comforts wait for the 2002 hummer two. The Hummer One is not for you. All you Suburban and Lincoln Navigator types, get a life. This is for a man who is in charge of his life. his home and his career. Your going to need to be to accuire, maintain and keep this SUV. It cost a bundle. But then so does my wife, I'm keeping both of them.

I owned a 1999 range rover - They are not in the same league. The Rover dealer swore they were - he lied.

Strength:

The most capable vehicle in world avaliable to the open public. The hill climbing ability and fording capabilities are amazing.

Weakness:

the only thing wrong with it is not enough people have one

If you want a safe unstopable machine but the hummer. most people think the engine is responsible for the lack of speed but its the gearing. without it the capabilities decrease. REMEMBER THE MILITARY USES ITS GOT TO BE TOUGH!!!

The hummer is the toughest thing made ever. A 1 1/4 ton vehicle that has an awsome independant suspension. The handling capablities are good for something that weighs 6500-7000lbs.

Overall, any man which doesn't want isn't a man or has no balls

Strength:

The extrem capability of the car is good. The suspension is great and it is the greatest 4x4 for off-road

Weakness:

The mileage is poor and the engine could be enchanted. The comfort is quite poor

It's a great car for people in the country but not an ideal car for city.
The biggest problem with it is that the mileage is extremly poor and the engine can be a bit stronger.

no 4x4 on earth could match the hummer.

nothing, the car is a piece of junk! It is made cheap and it looks horrible.

Weakness:

everything about it is horrible, I have had to go to the dealer constantly because it is a pile of junk! The styling is the worst car in america!

My advice is to stay away from this car, dont even think of buying it, but if you do test drive it and you will be amazed of its cheapness!

Strength:

I like the look of the car. It has a real rugged look to it. Very good in the 4x4 trails. Big tires for ultimate traction. Very roomy inside.

Weakness:

There is not enough horsepower. The car is way to slow. The price tag is way to high and you dont get a strong enough engine to go with all that money. This vehicle was not made to be a luxury car. It was made to be an outdoors trailblazer.

Most hummers cost around $85,000. Way to much for what you get. Sure it could hold about 10 people but the engine will not last and it dosent get the best mileage. I would reccomend it to a person who has a lot of money and is willing to work on it a lot and make it into a trailblazing machine!

Hummers dont really compare to any other type of car because they are so different in everyway. You have to drive one to understand.
