The black color was nice.

Weakness:

Everything else.

Junk, Junk, Junk Problem since the day I bought it. Summary: 77,000mi. 3 Sets of brakes, have kept up with all the parts re-call notifications (7 in all), and have had it serviced regularly. Burns oil. Check engine lights and oil lights have come on numerous times, and each time I have had the diagnostics done, I am told that everything is working as it should be. Recently went on a 500 mile round trip and only made it the first 300 miles. Was towed the remainder of the 200 miles, then told that I had thrown multiple rods through the motor. Multiple rods. The engine still had oil in it though it was slightly low, and where no leaks detected. $5000 to fix it. Load of crap. I did not purchase the extended warranty and of course I''m screwed now. HONDA should step up to the plate and admit that they have a lousey car, and do a total recall. Any suggestions for further action????? write to gcmuller@yahoo.com

well looks can be decieving... cheap, cheap, cheap and cheap...

Weakness:

too many to mention.

America stay away from this tin. I have had this vehicle since 11/01/01 and have had nothing but problems. First of all this is definitely not a HONDA...and shame on Honda for ever putting this s*** on their lots. What I purchased was an over priced vibrator! I had problems with it pulling to the right on the highway, the steering wheel vibrating, at highway speeds the whole car vibrates. The dealer has made several attempts to correct the problem by balancing the tires, alligning the vehicle, installing new tires, what ever it has not happened. Their latest remark was that it was a charastic of this vehicle,WHAT! If I recall correctly I never heard the sales person telling about this feature. I then took the vehicle to another dealer, Honda, boy did they do a job on it. They bashed the other dealer saying they should of never used those tires, they called tech line to get PROFESSIONAL assistance since they could not fix it. Next drama, at 10,000 miles the whole computer on the vehicle went. I was in the middle of rush hour traffic, 75 mph plus, the car died, I was hitting the gas and nothing... Long story short...I am now persueing the lemon law.

Strength:

Good power when it is not in the shop Very roomy back seat. Good CD player..went for the 6 CD changer

Weakness:

Drinks Gas Handles Bad The ride is terrible

I would not purchase another Passport ever!! It was fine until the warranty was over..I have 65000 miles now..but starting at 40000...Where do I start?? First the ABS light..replace a switch..Then after 2 months came on again..Had to replace the computer..Honda paid for parts, I paid for labor..Only 2 years old. Then the A/C compressor went..I had to pay for half of that $800 bill. Then the Cat. Converter went...But that was warranty for 80000 mi. Now my RPM is at 3000 and will not go down...Guess what the problem is?? Yes..the computer again and in the process of speaking to Honda again. I still have another year and it is paid for, but by that time, with all the money I have put in this ______, I could of bought another Honda Accord I traded in for this so called SUV. I have owned many cars in my 30 years of driving, but never had as much trouble as with this SUV. I take care of all my cars..oil change every 3000 miles, wheel allighnments, tire rotation..the tires on this car did last for 55000 miles..replaced with the same ones.

looks, acceleration.

Weakness:

gas mileage, poor ride, and oil guzzler.

this is my first suv. though it is not have the smoothest ride or the best gas mileage, it looks great. after the lease is up i might either buy it and keep it for another 2 years or get a bmw 3 series. i have to see how it holds up. i haven''t really had any problems other than the car stalled out on me once. i get the oil changed in it every 2500 miles because a guy at my dealership has one and he suggested it since he said that it uses up a lot of oil. if you haven''t put in a k&n filter, i suggest you do as it will improve your gas mileage on the highway. i drive a little too fast around town and my gas mileage has suffered - 11 mpg. i only get approximately 200 miles to the tank and i believe it is a 21 gallon tank. i must say that this suv has great acceleration!i have added a brush guard, taillight guards, tint, piaa japanese plasma headlight bulbs, neon blue foglights, k&n filter, 400 watt stereo (12 disc jvc changer, indash jvc cd player, alpine v12 amp, and a mtx sub), blue wheellight flashers, taillight covers, and a code alarm security system. i have the only one like it that i have seen around, it is silver with grey interior.

Strength:

Can''t really name any.

Weakness:

It''s an Isuzu, not a Honda ... plus all the others mentioned above.

This car has THE LOOK, no doubt, but it seems in this case beauty is only skin deep. BTW, the car has 52,000 miles on it. It''s a real gas-guzzler for starters (probably gets 17mpg/hwy), and the inside is very sparse considering the price paid for it - there''s hardly a luxury in sight, unless you regard cup holders as a luxury. The ride was initially great, but now it''s noisy and rough - I swear you can feel the thing going over every little pebble! Maybe I got a lemon, but I''ve had problems with the brakes twice (back brakes - $360 labor!!!!), the ABS 3 times (including replacement of the ABS *computer*), the rotor''s needed to be cut after 35,000 miles, the back window-washer nozzle disappeared. If this isn''t bad enough, the paintwork is the WEAKEST I have ever encountered - it chips just for the hell of it!!!!

power, looks

Weakness:

comfort, gas mileage, reliability

I have owned many vehicles, none have been a bigger dissappointment. The passport is just a re-badged isuzu rodeo. My Passport had 31,000 miles on it and it started using oil. The service dept. told me this was normal for the passport. This is just one of many problems I have had with this 2000 model vehicle. Can''t wait until Honda drops isuzu and makes their own passport in ''03. I just traded mine in on a Honda built CR-V.

NONE, ENTIRE PASSPORT SUCKS

Weakness:

drive, constant repairs, interior, power windows, entire electrical system.

Piece of _ _ _ _!!!!

70,000 miles have had over $4,000 in repairs, belts, altnerator, starter, brakes, gaskets now transmission needs replaced (price quote to fix at dealer $4,150). The worst vehicle I have every purchased and I will never own another HONDA as long as I live. The ride is horrible, interior is aging, exterior paint fading. LEMON all over this vehicle. Original tires from the factory were cheap and useless, destroyed at 20,000 miles, this Honda is not made for camping or any other family activities. SPEND THE EXTRA CASH AND GET A TOYOTA.

Strength:

Roomy, not too bad on gas for an SUV, nice looking outside, tires have held up, good pick up, easy to do work on it yourself (except for spark plugs are hard to get to) Value is better than most.

Weakness:

only one cup holder, not enough storage space, power windows are weak, not the Honda service I expected, lots of strange unexplainable noises, no intermitent wipers, doesn't handle well on windy days, It's not a real Honda.

Boy was I excited about owning my first Honda and SUV, after having a family I wanted the room, but not a station wagon so an SUV was the perfect choice. If only I had known then what I do now. Got poked on the dealer financing, was not told I was signing a balloon payment contract!! I asked about safety rating and was told "oh it's a safe truck, it's a Honda," Ha ha the jokes on me. When I asked what makes this better than the Rodeo "We get first pick off the line, and it has all the Honda bells and whistles."
The truck was great until the warranty was about out, took it in to have the belt changed and was told that wasn't included in our bumper to bumper warranty. What kind of doo doo is that! I was told by a family member that all she had to do was take her Accord in and they would fix it, no problems or anything. Guess that is the problem with not buying a real Honda. Then the we had all kinds of electrical problems. The blinkers, emergency lights, dash lights, brake lights, and power windows all failed. One week and $500 later I had my truck back only to find that now the power locks were sticking. I also had to have the stereo replaced. Then at 60,000 miles the clutch went out! Now my wife and I have been driving standard since we were 16, I just thought this was too soon to replace it. And now almost a year later it again needs work on it. Maybe I just got unlucky. At this point in time my wifes 1987 Nissan is a better car than my Passport, and she doesn't let me forget it.

I like Hondas and would buy one again, but I will NEVER buy another Passport, and for the money and service you might as well buy the Rodeo. If you are looking for an SUV keep looking, and if you want the Honda service and quality then this is not for you. I love Hondas and can't wait to own a real one.

ONLY THING I DIDNT LIKE WERE THE SHOCKS. IM THINKING OF GETTING THEM CHANGED TO BILSTIEN, BUT THE ORIGINALS WILL DO FOR NOW.

I WOULD GET A PASSPORT OVER OTHER SUVS IN THAT PRICE RANGE. ITS VERY SLEEK AND STYLISH FUN TO DRIVE AND ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE A KILLER SYSTEM. OH YA ALL THE WINDOWS GO ALL THE WAY DOWN SOUTH...

Strength:

The vehicle is really solid and still accelerates quickly. I have no problem passing people in traffic. I also like the extra power outlets in the front and rear for all the extra electronics I "need".

Weakness:

Ride was a bit bouncy but I changed the shocks after 25k miles and it rides alot better now. I changed out the isuzu ones for bilsteins.

I Paid 25,500 for this vehicle brand new. I would reccomend it

I had a Chevy Suburban before. I bought this vehicle because I believe Japanese cars are more reliable and the Suburban was too expensive. Especially now that gas is almost 2 dollars a gallon.
