Strength:

Roomy, comfortable to drive. SAFE IN A CRASH. we were rearended, I was doing 10 mph the other driver was doing 65 mph.. we were able to drive the Yukon to the dealer..His Ford ranger was totaled.

Weakness:

TOO MANY to List them all...LOOK for another ride. Wonder why the Foreign dealers are kicking American dealers butts.????? GO FIGURE

Engine needs more power, I have had NUMEROUS electrical problems, has been in the shop 6 times and Dealer cant find the problem. speakers failed on drivers side (GMC Dealer replaced free). Paint on both front fenders "Orange Peeled" was asked how I cleaned it? washed with turtle wax...the rest of the Yukon did not do it. I had to pay for new paint on fenders. Tire monitoring system has failed 3 times in last 6 months. Dealer just keeps resetting it. you would think that a vehicle that cost 30k would have a little bit better quality. Wifes Honda Accord LX, same year has had '0' issues. I would not buy another GMC product.

Weakness:

2007 Yukon with 40K miles transmission just failed. Internet research tells me this isn't an isolated case and points to a poor design and quality problems with components. The question is given the length of time that GMC has had these problems why they haven't addressed them. Bottom line is look for another option for a full-size SUV.

No $40K vehicle should experience this costly a problem less than 3 years in. No wonder GMC can't hold market share.

Strength:

Powerful Vortech engine, looks (especially with 22" rims), amenities, low cabin noise.

Weakness:

Can't think of one...

I traded in a black '04 Denali for a metallic tan '06 Denali XL. I liked the '04 but I quickly began to hate the black color (I noticed every imperfection and it seemed to hard to keep clean).

Although big, the XL offers great power and handling and the gas mileage is . It is a very comfortable drive and I like the captain's chairs in the middle row. I thought it would be trumped (as far as looks) by the '07 model and thereby made a dinosaur (like the first gen Escalade), but I still like the look of the '04-'06 Denali compared to the newest model. The interior is very good quality, although I'm noticing some peeling on the surface of the cup holder lid and the CD player, I like the rear a/c vents, there is very low cabin noise, plus .

Strength:

Very comfortable ride. Air Conditioning is very cold (I live in Arizona and sometimes need to turn down the air because I get to cold, in the summer), To many more to list

Weakness:

Have no complaints.

Bought this SUV with 70,000 miles on it. Drove it to over 100,000 and have not had to take it in for repairs once. I've only changed the oil. I LOVE this SUV! I would recommend it to anybody. I've read all the bad reviews and have never had any problems others say they have. GMC is the way to go! Will last a long time if you keep up on maintance and don't let your kids trash it.

Model Reviewed: GMC Yukon - SLT-2 trim

Strength:

Lots of options, quite and smooth ride, great styling

Weakness:

none

The 07 Yukon comes in various trims. The more expensive the trim, the more options are standard. However, even the Yukon Denali has options you can add. So, a 07 Yukon can cost from $38,000 to well over $52,000 depending on trim and options. If you have kids and need more cargo space, then get the XL which is almost 1 foot longer.

I traded in my 06 Envoy Denali for the 07 Yukon with the SLT-2 trim. The envoy was nice, but I needed more cargo space and this works out well for my needs. The Yukon ride is smoother and quieter than the Envoy. My Yukon came with second row captain seats and third row bench seat. Therefore, it seats 7. But, depending on what type seats you want, it will seat from 6 to 8. I need the cargo space so I removed the third row seat and ordered a cargo mat that fits perfectly and solves the problem of the seat rails showing and the mat makes the cargo area flat. As for gas mileage, I get an overall average of 15.5 mpg. My Yukon is rated at 21 hwy because of the optional rear gear ration axle. So, at times I have been able to get slightly over 21 mpg highway but most of the time it runs around 18 mpg. FYI, the Denali has a much bigger engine and only rated at 19 mpg highway.

My Yukon has most of the options, at least the options I want. One of the best is park assist. It is very difficult judging distance when backing up. And sometimes you can not see anything if the object is too low. The park assist, or rear camera on some models, does a great job by warning you when you are too close to objects. It will start warning you at 8 feet with one of 3 lights in the rear cabin. Then if you get within 1 foot, all 3 lights will come on and it will beep at you. This is a must-have safety feature. The Bose sound system that plays MP3 is great. I also have navigation, sunroof, power rear liftgate, remote start, heated windshield washer fluid, tire pressure monitor, DVD entertainment and power folding rearview side mirrors.

I would suggest that before buying any vehicle, you do your research. Go to gmc.com and check out all the trims, options and prices. Then try to find a dealer that has a large variety to see all the options and colors in person. I did all that, plus I went to kbb.com to see what my trade in was worth. I went armed with information and got what I wanted at a very good price. I am very happy with this SUV and would highly recommend it.
