Strength:
It has not had any problems whats so ever. I love the height of the vehicle. I can see down the road which makes everyone feel more secure. It will go into all of the underground garages.
Weakness:
gas mileage is poor in city or highway. exterior design--the look is old and plain but acceptable. The seating is poor. The front seats do not lay all the way back and you cannot get the bench seat option for eddie bauer. Large vehicles are often used for traveling with the family and ford should keep this in mind. I have the eddie bauer with the 5.4 liter engine because I pull a horse trailer. I have overloaded the vehicle a few times and never had a problem. It is a little slow stopping but it is a big vehicle. It has been a great vehicle but, I would like to see the interior space maximixed better. Also I would like to see that I have all of the bells and whistle available to me and not find a better equiped mini-van. The large suv's are some of the mose expensive vehicles sold and should come with all of the latest gadgets in them. Similar Products Used: Mitsubishi Motereo xls. I love the styling and ride of this vehicle. If it had same towing I would have bought it instead--just my opinion. |

Power & luxury feel!
Weakness:
GAS MILEAGE!! The only downfall is that my truck sits so high off the ground my 4 year old can't climb in so easy, but I don't mind helping her inside, and neither does she! This truck is awesome. Ive wanted one for about 2 years, and finally got it. Drives great and the thing I noticed right off the bat was NO ROAD NOISE!!! My van was so loud on the road. I love the space inside and the luxury feel. It is so big, I feel so safe in it. I love the 3rd seat, I can take as many people as I did in my minivan. Gas mileage sucks but WAYYYYY worth it!!! four wheel drive is awesome in this New England weather. Awesome turning radius. Heated seats..aaahhh. Not so big that you feel intimidated driving it. Running board sticks out enough that its not ugly but it stops the doors from being dinged, a big selling point for me.
Weakness:
a big fat nothing.... I won't mention the 13 miles per gallon... I guess if you can afford to pay for the car you can pay for the gas! This is my baby. I am a mother of two, but there always seems to be more when we go anywhere, so much space inside. I have driven 50,000 miles and am only now replacing the tires and brakes. The car is exactly the same as the day I bought it... purrs like a big kitty. If anything happened to it I would go get another one, I never got fed up with it or have seen anything that I like more. I love it!! I am a big Ford fan, we have been so lucky with all our ford vehicles that's all we will buy. Similar Products Used: I drove an f150 supercab for four years. My husband drives it now. We have it since 1994 and has never been a problem. |

none!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A great looking and riding SUV, This is my third one. I have had a 2000,2001,2002 I drive alot so I lease that is why I have traded so many times. Each one that I have had has been a 4WD Eddie Bauer. My only regret is that I wish that I would have held out for the new 2003, thats okay I will lease one in 10 months. Transmission shifts smoothly and adapts to shift habits automatically, Brakes are excellent, Engine is very quiet and runs flawlessly.
Weakness:
Rear Wiper Motor General AW P275 60 R17 TIRES SUCK! (Belt seperation) on 2 of them before 25K miles. Gas Mileage - But its a good sacrifice. Excellent Vehicle overall, It is equipped with the triton 5.4L, which has 260HP and 350FtLbs Torque, Had no problems towing a 24ft trailer loaded weighing 5500LBS, up any grades. I have one child, wanted a SUV for better visibility, and room for the camping equipment. alot of bang for the buck. great price great engine great sound system great room great ride feel fabo confidence builder i feel like a millionarie in this thing ( well not that rich but you get the idea)
Weakness:
only thing i would like to see is better gas mileage which i am not that hungup on best in term of value. Best in terms of content. Best overall. Great engine i have the smaller 4.8L but this thing never strains, pushes forward smoothly and when you need the power it is right on tap. great sound system. nice location for the cd changer( most changers are eaither in trunk of in glovebox) the ride on this truck is great. third row allows us to take up to 8 along with us and the room behind the third row while not large is still adaquit. i would recomend this truck to anyone that is not concerned about gas prices because this thing eats it like scooby snacks. but the pros outway the cons. pluse u get the advantage of having the space of a minivan without the look. signal mirrors are a cool feature. nice interior lights at night looks like a cockpit. Tough Truck Only maint. is changing the oil Did I mention that it is solid?
Weakness:
Lacks good Power Only has the 2.7L 4 Bought this truck with 35k miles on it and it has been nothing but great to drive. Has over 52k on it now and it is still a very solid truck. Was out tooling around in the woods and not one noise was heard from my truck other than the sound of the engine. Was out there with two other trucks/Suvs 1. 2001 Chev Tahoe 2. 2002 Dodge Truck and they both made some funny sounds going down the road, that makes me glad I didn't own either one. Strength:
Up until the time it blew it was a great truck that I was happy with for the most part. The problems I had prior seemed minor enough and were covered under warranty. It is roomy and drives just like a car. It is easy to get into parking spots and easy to back out of places.
Weakness:
Wimpy engine. Not enough horse power to tow our dirt bikes up a semi steep hill. The gas mileage wasnt near as good as the sticker said when we bought it. The back windshield wiper gets stuck a lot and you have to get out and un stick it to get it to work. The back seat is a little cramped height wise for anyone over the age of 15. I saved for a year and traded in 2 paid of vehicles to purchase this truck that I had been wanting since it first came out. What a piece of garbage. I have had problems with the 4x4 low not wanting to engage and then not wanting to disengage. I had 2 of the seatbelts in the 2nd and 3rd seats break, not good when you have 6 children and you need ALL of your seatbelts. Then I had the engine seize for no apparent reason while 3 hours away from my home. The only warning was the oil, temp and service lights coming on 30 seconds prior to seizing. I checked the oil prior to leaving for my trip and after it seized and it was at an adequate level. Ford so far has refused to even tear the engine down to find the cause of failure unless I put money up front. I am in the process of gathering all my service records to prove I changed the oil at adequate intervals, but they refuse to help me until I get them (of course they still want their big payment every month) and even after receiving them they are not agreeing to do anything, including tear down the engine. Expedition XLT Premium
Strength:
1. The ride is better than any other full size SUV out there. We are in a lot of big SUVs (I guess a TX thing) and the ride in this is the best. No more shaking, or rolling back and forth across bumps. 2. The seat configuration. We got the leather package with the center console between the front seats. The second and third row fold COMPLETELY flat into the floor board. This can be done due to the new indep. rear suspension. 3. Leg room and seat comfort in both the 2nd and 3rd row are the best.
Weakness:
Awkward getting the side seats (in the second row) forward to get into the third row. I like the way the Chevy's slide forward. But of course the chevy's don't fold flat at all. Traded in 1998 F150 Supercab. Needed more room for kids. We wanted to buy a 2002 for the discounts and good financing. But, the salesman (trained well) showed us the 2003 first. Wow, what a difference from the 2002 version. They are going to sell a ton of these. Similar Products Used: 2000 Chev Tahoe |

Comfortable seats which you will need for the amount of time I have spent on the side of the road. Lots of Room.
Weakness:
Handles Poorly, Too many faulty defective parts. Overall this has been the worst car I have ever purchased. I have 16,710 miles and have had the Sunroof motor fail, needed to replace molding, Had an electrical problem which caused rear compressor to go out twice. Had a sensor go out which caused car to shift into low gear even thugh I had not taken it out of all 4WD and the drivers side front window runner needed replacing becuase it would not roll up all the way.
