Ford Bronco
Strength:
nice and big, great turning radius, its easy to see everyone around you, except for the occasional import on the side, but i dont worry about those, looks cool, the top comes off, tire mounted on back for more room in the back
Weakness:
gas guzzler, its tall ride height sometimes gives women trouble getting in, but im always there 2 give them a hand, also leaked oil but was fixed easily enough. Its also sometimes kind of noisy when your driving on unevenly paved roads but i normally just turn up the stereo to drown out some of the shaking. i love this truck. Its a black on black 1991 bronco XLT with the 5.0L 302. i love how big it is and always having the right of way with other cars. Its proven to be a very dependable truck. it starts up every time i turn the key. Theres penty of room for stereo equipment and its nice with the subwoofers in the same air space as you instead of a trunk. I enjoy taking it 4x4ing. The 4x4 really helps when theres snow on the ground as well. it has 106k miles on it and is still running strong. Not too much rust either. When this one expires (which im sure will be in a long time) i would definitely plan on buying another one. Probably a 96. Its too bad they stopped making them because they are such cool and useful trucks. Similar Products Used: ford f150 lariat |

good exceleration from a 302 efi. saved my butt when a crown victoria (police car) ran a red light and hit the left front tire. looks macho too!
Weakness:
uses lots of gas but that is cheap insurance when you are driving such a heavy vehicle. every once in a while it will get the shakes in the drive line, don't know why or how to fix it. seems to go away on its own?? i was looking for a good vehicle to tow my boat and trailer up the boat ramp. i noticed the Bronco drivers were all smileing so i got one, great! it does everything , off road, easy to park in town , carrys lots of stuff, great all around, good visibility. Ford Bronco
Strength:
Strong engine (5.8l), improved ride with Pro Comp lift, outside tire carrier keeps full size spare out of the way, easily removable rear seat for extra cargo. MASSIVE amounts of leg room for ALL passengers keep long trips comfortable. Extra room for speakers without sacrificing cargo space if you like premium sound systems. Bulletproof engine handles anything you throw at it (and surprisingly low emissions according to my last test at 80,000 miles). Easy to work on for routine maintenance. Excellent AC and heat. Short wheelbase makes it easy to manuever off road or in those tight parking spots. Will tow just about anything. I would buy another one in a second if they made them again.
Weakness:
People say gas mileage, but mine gets ~16mpg highway so I'm not complaining. My '83 got 10mpg so that's an improvement to me. Gotta sacrifice something for all that power. Fuel pump is a pain to change when it goes, which is typical of in-tank mounted fuel pumps. Otherwise, I've had no problems except for an O2 sensor going out at 70,000 miles. Also, anignment isn't an issue with the Pro Comp lift. Biggest weakness is that Ford doesn't make them anymore! This is the second Bronco I've owned and I still love these trucks (previoulsy I had and '83). These trucks are just big enough to haul or tow what you need to, command respect on the highway, and still easy to park in tight spots. Oh, and they rule off road too! Anyone who owns a Bronco should seriously consider a 4" Pro Comp lift with 33" tires because the suspension mods actually improve the ride while increasing the height. The 5.8l is definitely the best engine out there. Excellent power. I'm not big on Eddie Bauers, XLT trim suits me just fine. Everybody always enjoys the comfort of riding in my Bronco. Ford Bronco ED 4x4
Strength:
Lots of Power! Stock height is perfect for heavy trails. Lots of room for a sound system. Strong Engine, I have yet to tune my engine at 93k. Good Turning radius, well built parts. Easily customizable. Top does come off, but not recommended. Vehicle construction does hold up excellent in a auto impact.
Weakness:
Cheap radius Arm Bushings, known alignment problems with the TTB front suspension. Known for leaking brake switches that can short out other components causing major $$$$$. People mention rust problems, but that is usually caused from not replacing weather seals and/or caring for the paint. Brake system design is from F-150 meaning that a heavier Bronco will cause you to replace your Front pads on average every 35k to 40k miles. Fuel pump tends to fail within the first 100k miles. And of cours Gas mileage, but HEY, YOU DID NOT BUY A BRONCO TO SAVE MONEY ON GAS! YOU WANT GOOD GAS MILAGE? BUY A SMALL CAR. These are just some issues I have noticed in the 5 years I have owned my Bronco. I choose my Bronco over a Mustang Cobra and don't regret it one bit. Bought my Bronco in Factory Mint Used condition off a Ford Lot with only 6000 miles on it. I'm a big guy, so it fits me really well. And of course with the fact that Ford Bronco's are not made anymore, its a collector's item. I will never part with my Bronco, and I know quite a few people who feel the same way. I use it as a daily driver despite the fact that it does consume gas. I have hardly gone off-roading with it, but plan on doing some trail stomping soon. Some people like to own a part of Ford History like the 67 Shelby Mustang. My part of history is my 96 Ford Bronco with all the trimmings on it execpt the signal side mirrors. Tough, Good Looks, Gobs of Power with stock powertrain.
Weakness:
Gas. Beastly. The Bronco will take anything you throw at it. It's tough as nails and quick as hell to boot. It's no SUV, it's a truck. The 351 H.O. (Windsor block, with hotter cam and 600CFM 4barrel Holly) cranks out plenty of power, to tow, go off-road or race. I've had a compliment on it "Wow, I didn't think this truck could go that fast". |

Strength:
Power, ride, aggressive looks, interior size, customizability, (is that a word?)
Weakness:
As everyone else mentioned, GAS. I've wanted a Bronco since I was a little kid, and FINALLY got one to call my own! Ran across this Eddie Bauer in showroom shape and low miles (engine/tranny) for around $5900. Absolutely the finest truck on the road. Great power, (and I've got the smaller 5.0 302), great handling, (contrary to popular opinion), GREAT ride, (compared to my 98 Escort), killer looks, and more fun than can be had legally! Its wide and has lots of room. Its nice that you can sit in the front and not have to be touching the person next to you.
Weakness:
I agree with everyone else....GAS. And also one thing that is sometime not nice is only having two doors...but it wouldnt be a bronco with more. I love my Bronco. It has been used for hauling boats and horse trailers and also has miles on it from going over the mountain pass. I've got the 351 and I love the fact that my car engine is bigger then most other guys cars. Similar Products Used: 1985 Jimmy, GMC 1 Ton truck, Jeep |
