Cadillac Escalade
Strength:
Nice look, lots of horsepower.
Weakness:
BRAKES are a major concern-locking up going down the highway and still cadillac can't determine the problem with this vehicle. They say it's the first one of this kind. Someone prove them wrong for me. Seats are uncomfortable. Ride is rough and I expected the poor gas miles with the horsepower it provides. Too afraid to even pick it up from the last service repair to drive it. Our Escalade has 27K miles and has had warranty work done on FOUR separate occasions for the same problem. The brakes have locked up completely on FOUR separate occasions while traveling at speeds from 45 to 75 mph. One time we were on icy roads and slid in the ditch. It is a dangerous vehicle with serious consiquences if not dealt with. The problem has been duplicated at the GM dealership, "fixed" four times and has come back to the dealership each time. The master cylinder has been replaced among other things. We are so concerned for our well-being that we have not picked up the vehicle from the dealership since the last time. The local dealership is "stumped" and the Cadillac rep for our area is jerking us around to say the least. It has too many miles for a lemon law process, but the state's attorney is another option. Cadillac has a problem, and for a $56K pricetag, it better get resolved soon. Similar Products Used: Lincoln Navigator, Chevy Suburban, Tahoe |

Strength:
This is by far the worst cadillac I have ever owned! I have driven the vehicle approx 35,000 miles. The SUV has a roaring noise that whistles the dealer can't locate it, the SUV has been in the dealers shop a total of 6 weeks in the first year I've had it. It rides like a log wagon extreamly rough. When I tried to trade the vehicle the dealer only offered less than half what I paid for the heap so aparently It doesn,t hold any value. Recently the transmission went out at 64,ooo miles and costs $2,600.oo to fix
Weakness:
No power, terrable gas milage, noisy, rough ride, always breaking Don't make the mistake by buying a Cadillac Escalade They are JUNK! Front end went out at 32K miles, The AC Quit at 38K miles, The Heat Quit at 51K miles, The Transmission went out at 54K miles, My God What's NEXT! Cadillac should be ashamed for putting their name on this Chevy want-a-be! Similar Products Used: Mercury SUV, Ford SUV, Dodge SUV, |

Strength:
Powerfull
Weakness:
Bad gas milage, squirly on any surface When the engines cold, nasty knocking noise excellerating, lots of squeeks and rattles in the rear door and dash, drivers seat uncomfortable, but the major problem, slowly turning to the right the brakes apply themselves, does the same over small bumps at 70 mph on freeway, the dealer said that was normal untill today, they said cadillac realise they have a brake problem, requires a computor update, not available untill MAY 2003. |

Strength:
Big, Powerful.
Weakness:
Problems Problems Problems, GM 1800 Number worthless, gas is $2.00 and I'm getting 8mpg. GM LIES about getting 16mpg on the freeway. Where Shall I begin? Being accused of not knowing how to drive? Brake problems? Engine noises? Smoke? This vehicle has been a complete nightmare. It is a 2002 all wheel drive model with a 6.0 liter engine. My husband leased it for me for my birthday and I have to admit, I WAS happy with it. Recently, I had it into the dealer to get the engine clunking fixed. They accused me of 'abusing' the engine. I dont know how much abuse a woman in her 40s can do? I'm sure not a speed demon. This vehicle is weak (structurally). The rear door vibrates when going over the smallest pothole, the right speaker in the front works sometimes, the CD player doesn't always give back the CDs, etc... I would NOT reccommend this vehicle to anybody. I await the termination of the lease. I don't understand why this car is "admired" but so many people. Image? I have 21,000 miles on it right now and I've had it for just over a year. Some other problems I've experienced with it (that have now been fixed) were a bad seal causing it to puff out blue smoke when I accelerated, the alignment on the wheels is never perfect, the transmission for the front wheels wouldn't let them roll when you put it into Drive... You had to push the gas, put it back into park, then again into drive. This is the poorest vehicle. Like I said, made weakly. I know for a fact I am not the only one who is having problems. My last time in the Cadillac dealership, there was a customer in tears because her 1st gen. Escalade was costing her so much money for the same problems. I joined in with her and let the dept. know that they have unsatisfied customers. Gm 1-800 number is like talking to a wall... they love selling you a car but when it comes to customer service, you're not a priority. Everytime I go into the service dept. there are at least 3 or 4 other Escalades waiting to be serviced. This is a problem if I'm not the only one having problems. I'm waiting for the engine to have a few more problems and then hire a lawyer and serve GM. Listen to my fair warning. All these problems have justified my vehicle rating of a one. It isn't affordable either at $599/month This vehicle does NOT get the advertised gas mileage either. The day I get 12 or 16mpg I will die. City it gets anywhere from 6-8 and on long freeway trips at 65mph I only get 13miles/gallon. This is false advertising! Cadillac Escalade
Strength:
Mileage (compared to other beasts of its size), accelleration (thanks to Corvette tuned 6.0 liter engine), ride (for a truck), towing ability.
Weakness:
Even with all of the adjustments I think the drivers seat is uncomfortable, especially for someone with long legs. Also, will anyone ever develop a cruise control that works well? Although pricey you couldn't find a better overall SUV. Traded in an Expedition and couldn't be happier. Especially towing a trailer. Better acceleration, better mileage, more stable. / Chevrolet Tahoe Z71
Strength:
Outside and inside looks. Alloy wheels look better than those on the LT or LS model tahoe.
Weakness:
Build Quality. Sunroof has leaked since day one. Interior squeaks and rattles abundant. Road noise intrusive. Wind noise also too much. The 2002 Tahoe Z71 is truly a versatile sport utility. The interior is comfortable, the instruments are ergonomic, and the ride is decent. |

Escalade
Strength:
Power- will run on regular fuel ride - computer adjusted suspension. Rides like a car not a truck. appearence - you either love it or hate it. performance - it is nearly the fastest SUV out there. The big V8 BMW and Mercedes are slightly faster due to their lighter weight. comfort utility
Weakness:
-The third seat is difficult to access. Thethird seat has to be manually removed. Leg room in the second and third row is somewhat restricted. Needs larger than 17in wheels available. Mileage might be too low for some. Stereo could be better. No handy storage for sunglasses In my opinion this is the best luxury SUV available currently. My bias is in favor of power and this machine has it. It has a 6 liter V8 with 345hp and 380 ft-lbs of torque. This power is readily apparent when you gently touch the gas pedal. I ran my vehicle in a quarter mile and got a 15.24 sec at 91 mph. That is incredible for a 5600lb truck. It handles very well with much less body lean in turns than Iam used to from other SUVs. It is very comfortable and has almost every gizmo conceivable. Similar Products Used: Lincoln Navigator- handles like a truck. Cant match power or performance. |

most awsome suv on the market no doubt. the ride is excellent. great power. had a navigator but the escalade ext beats it in power and overall handeling. the new models must be a vast improvement over tth first generation escalades. no one is complaining now. get one if you can afford one . otherwise you'll have to drive a lesser car. |

The Escalade is the most unique vehicle that I have ever owned. It is both luxurious and powerful. I rate it a 5 out of 5 and recommend it to anyone. |

Strength:
The ride is a amazing, and the seats are plush. The turning ratio is out of this world. The POWER is greatly POWERFUL, and you and everyone else on the road knows it. On Star and personal calling make life so much easier and you really feel like you are apart of a technological triumph on wheels!
Weakness:
Good sound system, but could be louder for 11 speakers. No signals on the side mirrors and no lights on the running boards This is truly the best SUV in its class. What an awesome presentation it has. You see it coming and going and everyone who does not have one just feels the envy. The ride is classic Caddy and the seats are so comfortable, you have to fight sleep! Similar Products Used: Pathfinder |
