Firebird V6
Strength:
The firebird has good to moderate handling at high speeds, pretty good exhost note, for a V6, good gas milage, very good relability for such a poor quality car
Weakness:
The car has has very bad quality, Interior materials are plasticky and there are big gaps in the dash, exterior, this car is way to big to be classified as a sports car,the steering is overwieghted. its hard to get in and out of this car because of the extra long doors, Especially in LA, parking is hard in LA, but with this car its even worse overall I think this car needs loads of refinment, I would never buy it again, the performance is only fair with the V6, but I hate V8s, gas milage is good, the price is to high for this car in my opinion because you can get a much better car for about the same price like the Bmw 325 or toyota supra which have much better build quality, and better handling. Strength:
Very fast off the line. Shift kit improves shifting 100% you can hear the tires catch some scratch in 2nd. T/A WS6 package is also nice.
Weakness:
High matinance car. Replaced tranny, exhaust, radiator, and a bad O2 sensor. Bad gas mileage I love Firebirds, much more then it's conterpart the camero. You have to take the good with the bad if you are going to own an fbody. I love my car and plan to buy a fourth gen. soon. If you plan to buy a 3rd gen make sure its a Tuned port, they rock all over the TBI units. Similar Products Used: 93 Z28. Car is faster and rack and pinion steering make a heck of a difference in handleing. |

Strength:
This car can take a beating and keep on going. I winter drive this thing and beat it in the summer too. It go lots of goon take off but not much after about 80km. I've hardly had to put any money into it. Just egr sensor and rear shocks. I just can't seem to kill this engine. I rev it up to about 7.5 - 8.0 rpm and dump the clutch all the time. It leaks iol now but it's still kicking with no lack of power yet. I've got a 350 waiting to got into it. Just want to have some fun first and it's proving to be quite interesting. It dosent want to die. Definetly a good engine.
Weakness:
The console inside seems to be unlgueing everywere. Kinda anying and I can't find a new interior for it. I need a standard console but all I find is automatic. (wuss) I love thsi car. The only one I would maybe change to is the trans-am GTA 88 maybe. I like the ground effects and hood on it Similar Products Used: Out handles any of the old mustangs and camaros i've driven. |

Ride with optional performance suspension. Very low. Hard to get in and out. The Firehawk is simply an awesome car. Looks great, sounds great, goes like stink and carves corners. I love this car! Similar Products Used: Mustang GT, Camaro Z28 |

SPEED!!! She is fast. Although as soon as my lease is up I have to have a ram air trans am if they are still around, crossing my fingers. She also has a really mean look to her.
Weakness:
Sad to say at 10,000 miles her battery died and her rotors in the front had to be replaced. The dealer was great about it though. They replaced everything no cost to me. They also only had to keep her for four hours. I felt so naked without my car. I really have enjoyed this car. I get alot of looks while driving it. She is my big baby. I have named her Katassa. She is a mean b****. I also love the color of the car: Pewter Metalic. Similar Products Used: Ford Mustang 1996. I couldn't wait to get rid of that piece of crap. The paint job was terrible. I babied that car for nothing. The air pump seal busted on me. The car was pretty but nothing compared to the car I have now. |

Trans Am WS6
Strength:
I love the styling of this car, with the Ram Air hood scoops, up-level spoiler, crome five spoke rims, leather interior, blood red dash lighting, what's not to like? (Not to mention the striking comparison to the Batmobile). You will definitely attract attention both good and bad with this car. I noticed many people checking it out and complimenting it. Although, the second day out I was pulled over (in my own driveway) for rolling a stop sign. The cops love pulling over these cars, watch out.
Weakness:
These are to be expected, it's a sports car people! There is no back seat or trunk space, this isn't a car for grocery shopping. Mine is black so it's hard to keep clean, but I knew that going into it. When she is clean, the black paint gleams in the sun something beyond beautiful! After that I haven't found any yet. When I first saw this car it had everything that a muscle truely stands for; see strengths. When I looked at other two, Camero and Mustang, I didn't care for the image that preceeded them, especially the Mustang. I admit I'm bias to the fact that I've mostly driven Firebirds. The Trans Am has a certain class that is a cut above the others. Maybe that's why Pontiac markets the car they way it does. It is a shame that GM has decided to stop production on both the Camero (still a fan of) and the Firebird. FYI, dealers are only accepting orders of 2002's, there will be slim pickings on the lots. Get em while you can. Similar Products Used: 86 and 87 Firebirds (still own), 67 Camero convert. (Dad owns), 80 Camero, Viper (friend owns), 99 Mustang (friend owns) |

Convertible Firebird
Strength:
Has room for four people (a lot of convertibles are two seaters).
Weakness:
Was in the shop twice in the first year, my remote trunk release motor burnt out after 7 months, my brakes squeek but the pontiac dealer said that was normal for 4 wheel disc brakes. A strap that holds the rag top to the frame ripped in half and the pontiac dealership that was not part of the warrenty. Four fog lamps have burnt out. The rear passenger subwoofer is busted (this car has the pontiac top of the line Monsoon 500 watt sound system). The built in amp. had to be replaced the first week I bought the car (and this was a brand new car). Very fun car to drive, but expect a few problems. Similar Products Used: This was my first convertible that was not a two-seater. The firebird convertible 6 cylinder is the same price as the mustang GT 8 cyclinder, I chose the firebird over the mustang because pontiac was having 4.9% financing and ford wanted over 9%. My next convertible will not be firebird. |

Strength:
Fast, a good looking car. it sounds awesome there is splenty of leg room and it shifts smoothly
Weakness:
It has a T-top leak and im missing overdrive which im getting fixed soon other then that it sure can beat the pants off a Mustang anyday The car is awesome. I love the way my flowmasters make the car sound even powerful. The car has a 305 4bbl and a 5 speed tremec. I love this car ever since the day I got it I was surprise since it was a 84 Firebird SE to be in such good shape. The motor is outstandly fast and the T-tops make it even better of a ride. The car has little to no rust on it and the paint is the origonal with no fading what so ever. Similar Products Used: A Mustang I raced my cousin an others and i kicked there @sses. But I lost racing a viper.....what can you do! |

Strength:
Looks good and drives well. New LS-1 engine performance is greatly better than LT-1 engines.
Weakness:
Like most sport cars with rear wheel drive..handling in the rain is horrible. Taking turns very slowly is a must during wet road conditions. FAST FAST FAST..A real head turner. Trans Am's have always been a well built car and the newer 1998-present models are no different. Great value and performance. Similar Products Used: none |
