Strength:

Handling, acceleration, complimentary comments by others on style

Weakness:

Suspension and tire wear

At only 5000 miles, noticed "rubbing" noise or hum at low speeds (less than 25 mph) from front end. The noise is even more pronounced when applying the brakes. It is due to "cupping" or "scalloping" of the tires. Rotation of course is out due to the one-direction tires and apparently swaping tires from right to left and vice-versa will not cure the issue.....only a new set of tires is the real answer. This is disappointing as the rest of the vehicle has been a true pleasure.

Everything esle about the car is terrible

My car is a real piece of crap. The service on the car is terrible. I filled out a complaint with the BBB. This seams to get there attention. Rear tail lights did not work on delivery. It took 3 weeks to get into shop. I was then billed for a repair on the wire that was pinched off behind a panel that I could not get to. They also billed me for the loaner car. Once they fixed this problem the interior lights were inop on pick-up. They said they would have to schedule another appointment. This one took 1 month to get in for repair. After 2 days they did not repair the car, and told me I would have to come back. This took another month to get the part in, and repaired. The seat is falling apart after 300 miles. It still has not been repaired after waiting 3 months. The radio is also showing wear on the volume knob. They said that this is not under warranty since it is a wearing part. I could see if it had been a year or something; however it has only been 4 months. I have a bad clunking sound under the car when I release the clutch. The problem is undetermined at this point. They still have not fixed the radio, seat, accessory outlet, or noise under car. I will never buy another Nissan. Don't let the looks fool you.

I ordered a 2004 350z Roadster Convertible. I just picked the car up last night. WOW it is everything and more. This is the best sports car on the road for the money. Why spend 50k more for a Porsche when this car performs?

awesome looks, Fast as all heck! ladies love it. The car is a Demon! Almost no car that pulls up to you will even think about it. Unless they are in a 60,000+ porsche they'll be road kill. besides most owners of a porsche are too old and have no balls to race you. Besides this car looks like what a porsche really should look like. Mean and Nasty.

Weakness:

has some blind spots. like most cars the Z has Plastic head lights, Cheesy. Gas mileage is terrible. I am avg. only 15 MPG. but what'd you expect from a sports car? otherwise there's not much bad to say. Wish it had a sun roof. Convertables are too much money. Dealers are marking them up way too high.

WHOAH!!! This is the Hottest car out right now. For the price nothing can touch it! 287 HP. Everywhere I go heads turn. When I park people come up to the car like it's on display. I bought mine as an Automatic/tiptronic cuz the traffic in LA is horrible. I love it. Mine is black on black. The car just looks evil. Dealers are trying thier best to sell these cars over MSRP. Buyers need to do thier homework and negotiate a better price. I had to haggle for almost 2 hours to get a fair price. They will rip you off if you let them. If you can't get a decent price see another dealer. Be patient and you will get the price you are looking for.

Weakness:

Base stereo system will need improving, and gauking visitors to your car parked at local food establishments, the library or bars will keep you from getting on the road as quickly as you might like.

Is it normal to get physically aroused every time you see your new car sitting in the driveway? To enjoy the sincere words of "congratulations" on buying a 350Z by total strangers. This car is exactly what I hoped it would be when I slapped my $36K+ down for the track model four months ago. A sexy, sleek, macho ride with an interior cockpit that makes me feel I'm at the helm of an F-16. It quickly moves through the gears, is comfortable to lay back in and just glide across the roadways (even at 6'4"). The only negatives are: 1) with the 287 horses pushing you and a stereo system that, at least, holds its own, you tend not to pick up on the engine RPMs. The result is a quick jaunt to 100 plus on a 55 MPH roadway if you're not careful (or so my friend tells me -- I mind MY speed!); and 2) It's tough to leave shopping centers, convenience stores, work and gas stations without someone stopping by for a chat about it. If you want to wake up every morning with a chubby, get this car now. And try not to be too concerned about fans of the car circling it as you walk up.

Weakness:

Major Problem with the suspension and Nissan is unwilling to fix the problem. Tires cupping & scalloping at 3000 miles!

I have had my 350Z for a year now. It looks great and overall I love the car. I am however disappointed in Nissan's support of the 350Z owners who put their faith in the Nissan brand, in the belief that because the 350Z is Nissan's flagship car, they would take care of any problems that would arise in its debut year. Myself and MANY hundreds of other 350Z owners are suffering from some type of design flaw in the suspension. The tires are cupping and scalloping in a “heal-toe” wear pattern, which according to Firestone dealers “is an unsafe” situation and should be corrected. (tire cupping is a wear pattern where the trailing edge of a tread block wears more than the leading edge of the same tread block or vice versa) Nissan is aware of the problem by evidence of their TSB (Technical Service Bulletin NTB03006). The problem symptoms shows as “tire roar” (simular to driving your car with snow tires on it) The TSB tells the dealer to swap the left tire to the right side and the right tire to the left side (taking the tires off the wheels) and then align the car to NEW specs than the original factory settings. This does NOT fix the problem! It only hides the problem for a little while. Then the “tire roar” came back even worse. In my case, Nissan then gave the dealer authorization to put new front tires on my car and align the car again to newer specs. 3000 miles later on the NEW tires, the cupping (heal-toe wear pattern) came back! I then took my car in again and Nissan told the dealer to re-align the car yet again to the latest specs. 2000 miles later the cupping is getting worse. The “tire roar” is becoming unbearable and the heal-toe wear pattern is now showing on BOTH the inside & outside tread blocks. I have been dealing with this issue since March of 2003! Nissan has NOT returned my multiple calls (it is approaching a month now) and will not authorize the dealer’s request to put yet another set of tires on my car! To learn more about this issue: http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15758 Nissan's list of TSB (Technical Service Bulletins) http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/nissan/TSB/Nissan/350Z_Z33.asp?mscssid=

Great handling, good brakes, good acceleration. Reasonably comfortable for a sports car.

Weakness:

The car exhibits a noisy drivetrain and no solution to an ongoing problem with it. Good dealer cooperation but lack of help or cooperation thru Nissan N.America.

This particular Z has proved to be one of the biggest headaches of my life. The car drives well but exhibits an audible whirring noise when you take your foot from the throttle. I noticed it especially prominent im 5th and 6th gear around 70-75 mph. The noise is similar to a bad gear lash sound. The dealer has replaced the transmission, driveshaft and a mount to no avail. The dealership who has been very cooperative but is working with a Nissan factory rep who now claims that this is a normal noise. The car has been out of service for over 55 days due to this problem. Based on my prior ownership of over 45 cars and mechanical experience this is not a normal noise. I recommend that other Z owners lower their radio and listen for the noise because I believe it may be a common problem which could be overlooked.

Power, handling....it gives you a lot of response if you know what you are doing...put it this way, it has shocked me when I really pushed it hard both in straight acceleration and in passing. Bottom line...this is a sports car...period.

Weakness:

All the attention it gets...also, major blind spots in the 'C' pillars...finally, no sunroof (I should have waited for the convertible)...

Awesome car...I just got out of a 2000 325Ci BMW...this is a much more fun ride...I look forward to driving it on weekends (second car)...overall, it's better than I expected.
