Strength:
handling, accleration, comfort, placement of controls (air conditioning, lights, etc),
Weakness:
tends to run hot more so than any car i have driven.. there really aren't any weaknesses, but then again i am a sports car fanatic. the only weaknesses of the car really aren't the car, its the cost of maintaning tires.... you want really good performance tires, and a good set can cost you about $850. i wouldn't have it any other way I always had a sense of this car, but had never pursued buying one, and I really didn't research the 300zx 2+2 much either. My interest was consumed by an American classic, the Ford Mustang. I can tell you an awful lot about the Mustang. I drove a 2001 Mustang LX with a 3.8 SOHC V6 powering out 193hp carried by a 5 speed manual transmission (anyone driving a mustang as an automatic might as well not drive). When it came time to get a new car, i wanted something sporty, with muscle, and a great response time on the accelerator. When I first drove the Z, I was sold. Literally. My 1991 300zx 2+2 is in exceptional condition with no body damage, no t-top problems, and a beautiful interior. The speed at which it accelerates is amazing.. even beating the mustang in its ability to awe its passengers. The craftmanship holds up very well, with the only common problems being the power transistor (which is a recall on the car) or normal older-car problems that are to be expected. I love the interior.. it's more like a cockpit than a car. The 300zx handles like a mustang never could; and i say that because they are bother rear-wheel drive cars, but the 300zx holds onto the road and doesn't swing the back-end like the mustang does. It is very well propotioned. The sleek design hides the real personality of the car, a roaring lion waiting to pounce... i love this car. I am keeping this one. Now i just have to get a 5.0 mustang... a mustang in second place? i must be out of my mind. I am, my heart lies with the Z |

Great looking car, my 84 was very dependable. Great handling, good pick-up and just real fun to drive. I put 3,000 miles on it in the first month!
Weakness:
Nothing yet. I knew about the fuel and insurance costs going in! Had a squeak in the aspirator fan. I had a new 1984 when I was younger and really enjoyed that car. I came across this 96 at a local dealers. Car had 16,000 miles and not a scratch. I also wanted a manual. Car is a real blast to drive, and handles like the ole Z. Could not do the TT with a teenager coming up! Similar Products Used: 1976 Mustang 1980 Camaro 1984 300ZX then stuck with family vans! |

Expensive parts, gas and insurance I'm in love my new z! I find excuses just to drive. Handling and power is incredible, not to mention the sexy look. Talk about a guy magnet! I cruise by with my t-tops off and wow! After owning practical, boring cars, this is a dream machine. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Handling, Interior, reliability, impressive on a freeway, very stable during cornering, etc.
Weakness:
Repair cost, Transmission on 90-93 model because of a single sleeve syncro, very compact under the hood. I bought this car a two years ago from a private owner. I can say that this car is one of the best car I have driven. If you want power go with TT. I considered my N/A slow off the line but that is because the Z is not a drag car. I hear a lot of people saying the Z is slow...YES! the N/A is slow off the line but on a freeway it picks up really fast. Find one in good condition and test drive it. For a 12 yr old car this is very impressive. Similar Products Used: 97 lexus es300 99 eclipse 01 Integra Type-R 01 Integra GSR 99 Saleen |

Nissan 300ZX TT
Strength:
Power, power, power! Ease of modification, sweet looking, retains resale value, wrather unique in a world of Civics and Mustangs.
Weakness:
Weakness is an overstatement to begin with... Overall cost involved with the car (purchase, add-ons, service etc.) Chugga lugga on the gas, heavy, lots of oversteer (easily corrected with a bit of fiddling with the toe and camber, or driving habbits.) Holy mother! This car still wows me to this day. I traded my '96 Eclipse for this beast, and despite needing some serious body work and 180K on the chasis, I still think I got the better deal. I found that there is a bit of a power drop between 1st and 2nd right around 3500rpm, but after swaping in a Stage 3 clutch I had no more problems. Stock 300ZX's alone are a force to be reckoned with, but after a few modifications, I'm running 482HP at the wheels, 412lbs of torque, and low 11's on the quarter mile. Makeing the transisition to the custom parts was butter thanks to some insightful techs, and despite the relatively higher cost of internal and external parts, well worth every cent. A good car to keep stock and an even better car to mod. Similar Products Used: '93 240SX '96 Eclipse |

Extremely fast, great handling(changed to Eibachs and Tokicos),Easy to get mega HP with few mods.Fun car period.Worth it.
Weakness:
Performance mods are expensive, traction in the wet(rear drive car w/300+HP),but still driveable. I bought my Z in 00', with 16,000mi.It's a beast on the straights and handles superbly.I've never received so many compliments, especially for a 12yr old car.I've had no significant problems, and always enjoy hearing the tone coming from the exhaust. The leather seats are very supportive.I enjoy the suprised look of newer sport car owners when they get fried in a race.Their response "I never knew they were so fast". Now they know. Similar Products Used: 91 GSXR 750, 76 280Z, 92 911, 01 WRX |
