Weakness:

Cost of repairs and maintenance

Since buying this car, it has been expensive to fix little things here and there. Even plugs and wires were an experience in costly items. But heck, that's the price of fun and this car is fuuuunnn! It's performance and acceleration for a V6 is astounding. Sure, the back seats are small and the storage in the back area is small. If thats a problem, so get a sedan and quit whining. This is a sports car that performs and looks great. The body style will never loose it's appeal. I'm keepin mine until it is all restored.

4x4, sports suspension mode, twin turbo, Electric lumber support on the drivers seat.

Weakness:

Fuel consumption.. but hey its no corolla.

if going fast is what you like to do in your spare time then this is it. Performance in a box, no messing around with aftermarket goodies. Even tho that has entered my mind. Drinks like a mule, so dont buy it if you hate going to the petrol station every week. I get between 250 (min) to 500klm (max) to a full tank. 500 is only on long trips. Handling is superb, plus with sports suspension mode body roll is non existant. Event after 5years it still turns heads. This car was ahead of its time considering the outside design hasnt had major changes since 1992. It has every gadget you can think of and just enough room for the weekly shopping ;) Down side is no one makes a decent boddy kit as most have moved onto newer more popular cars. But for those of us who have experienced the VR4 its a great performer with all the bells and whistles for a very reasonable price.

-Trunk Space -Back seat space -Rough Ride -Costly

I purchased my 92' Mitsubishi 3000GT SL in Late November of 03'. It is the car i have always wanted and i got it once i got the chance at the age of 17. This car is a sports car, not a family car and people complain about how the ride feels.YES YOU WILL FEEL EVERY BUMP ON THE ROAD. This car IS costly but its a sacrifice someone will make if they really like it the way I do. Since i bought this car i have had to change the Timing Belt, Water pump, rollers, Pulleys, and a bunch of other crap that added up to about $800 just to avoid any problems if the Timing-belt did break, which I heard will completely tear up your entire engine (Dont want that to happen). A couple of months later i decided I was going out when i see my car would start, then turn off after bout 2.5 seconds. Every time i started it same thing would happen. Oh was I pissed ! turns out i didnt find out what it was after about a month later. Both Engine and Transmission computers had blown (Don't ask how). Another $800 and that was just rebuilt. Each computer cost over $1,000. Gas is also an issue. To fill my tank costs me bout $40 each time from empty, so i try not to let it go below halfway. Also, trunk space: oh yeah, there is none. You can barely fit anything in it...just to put my system in, it had to be customely done. Back seats are extremely uncomfortable, but who cares, im the one driving :) So lets get to the good stuff. this car makes heads turn from every direction. Ive been offered a few times if i wanted to sell but i cant let my baby go. Car also picks up speed quick, especially after about 50 mph. Once you floor it from 50, its gone. For a 92' this car looks a lot newer. ive been asked if it was an 02' with no joke, but also from people who probably know nothing about cars since this car was only made from 91-99. But anywayz, I still love my car and will keep it for as long as i can.

power, sound system.roomy front seats, deffinatly the attention, and what i love the most is that it only cost a few thousand but can beat anything that cost under 60k

Weakness:

there a lil heavy . some people might find the stiff ride a weakness...those folks who like there cadys.and there a lil cramped in the back but other that that there are none

I have been wanting a 3000gt for about 10 years. and im going to be 18 in a few months and i just bought one. needless to say im istatic.they are even faster then i imagine. but there is something i would like to say first to to owners and future buyers. because im sick of it.. yes these cars have very stiff rides and theres nothing you can or should do about it. the car isnt made to have a soft ride like a cadillac. its made to hug the road going 55 around sharp hairpin turns. these things have stiff rides like race cars do and thats how its suppost to be so stop complaining. but on another note I LOVE MY CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just about everything! Good gas mileage and runs like a champ!

Weakness:

Appearance! Paint has completely worn out in some areas. When the AC is on it idles low and causes the car to shake. We have had the timing adjusted but that didnt work. Not a big deal though, more annoying than anything.

I am very impressed with this car! It is 10 yrs old w/ about 140,000 mi. and runs like a gem! I bought it from a private seller about 10 months ago after my Pontiac spontaniously combusted and burnt to a crisp (you wont catch me buying another american car). Since then we have only had to replace the alternator and the brakes.

Rough RIDE!! No backseat to speak of but no one said it was a family car.

After reading all the great reviews I just had to have one and I must say Im a little disapointed. Why didnt anyone say anything about how rough the ride was? That would have really helped in deciding if I wanted one or not. I love the way it looks and the interior is very nice but the ride is HORRIBLE to say the least! You feel each and every bump in the road.I dont know if this is normal or not, I hope not cause if I could get the ride to be better Id love it. Its one of the most beautiful cars Ive ever seen. The sound system is killer, The interior is comfy, and I love all the buttons & you dont have to worry about enough power in this car, IT WILL haul ass! If anyone can tell me what I could do about the rough ride please do..This car only has 54,000 miles and its pretty much mint except for a few minor flaws like the ash tray has a piece thats broken but nothing big.If anyones interested in buying it or can help me with the ride problem let me know. AWD leaves the line so much faster than just about anything and if yours has the Active Aero System the moving spoiler is sweet

Hopeless in snow.... AWD just makes it worse.

91 Model. 300HP with few minor upgrades. 119K now, Motor and Trans have been replaced between 100K and 115K. Only lost one race, older olds cutlas with 400. beat 99 Camereo SS, 90 Fairlady 300z, and mid 90's twin turbo Supra automatic. Ex had a 96 VR4 and however they are rated with 20 extra HP, and a 6 speed trans. the rev limitor can be a pain in the ass and really keeps your high end down, that is the best quality of the 91-93 models. and for those who live in the midwest, it made it from Omaha NE. to Kansas City Mo in 2hrs with no tickets... thank god.

Average acceleration and great high end. Girls love it.

Weakness:

Heavy but for its reasons.

For the most part this is a bad car for nat being the turbo model. I can get 27-28 mpg on the road if I want to other wise about 24 mpg. A heavy car but made for high speed weaving through cars, not sharp corners.

Front wheel drive, We go through a set of front tires every 6 months

Bought this car from a dealership. It was in the back all dirty and looking for anew owner. We brought it home that same night , the next day the water pump went OUCH. We took the car back to the dealer and they replaced the pump for free. While they changed the pump I had them replace the timing belt in the process. We finaly got the car home and polished it up WOW. The Pearl Yellow shinned beyond belief. The interior is perfect but the tires are in need of replacement. The cars runs flawlwssly and the Yelloe Pearl really turns heads. Im leaving the car 100% stock and enjoying the car daily. When we bougt it in 2002 the car had 74,000 miles , now the car has 104000 and still going. When the engine quits I will have it rebuilt . My daughter turns 16 in a couple of years I already promised her the car for high school.
