Ford Mustang (2010 and older) Sports

DESCRIPTION

The Mustang has been redesigned for 2010. Fresh new sheet metal wraps around an updated interior, giving the icon a more modern look and feel.

The Mustang is available either as a coupe or convertible. Each is available with a V6 or a V8. The 210-hp 4.0L V6 carries over unchanged. The 4.6L V8 receives an increase in power - producing 315-hp for 2010. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; a five-speed automatic is optional. All Mustangs are equipped with standard electronic stability control and LED sequential tail lamps for enhanced safety.

This is my secod girl friend. I just love this car... the power under your right foot is impressive, it's reeeaallllyy good locking and sound system rocks. I don't just have a car... i drive a Mustang GT.

Weakness:

hum.. tires are expensive, a tiny too heavy, suspension quite soft, gas paddle quite uneven with the brake and there is this unecessary ar silencer.
But is all fixed.. if wanna know how just mail me.

This is a pretty awsome car.
You'll have alot of fun, turn some heads, make new friends just like that and in he middle make alot cars eat your dust...
The horse power its always easy to pick it up a little bit more... a exaust here, a header there, new intake system... maybe a supercharger in the end.

If you want a car where you can "tweek it" a little bit for fun, the Pony car is the one. And... who in the right mind is going out driving a Camaro?that thing is probably the uglyest car in the world and by the way it likes to eat dust ALOT!!

Well in a few months i'm going to get my license & i've been trying to find a mustang but cant . Ive looked all over the net but they cost too dang much. So if anybody knows where I could find a nice mustang would tell me.

Weakness:

Around $15k , 1995 model or a lil older

If i had a mustang i would probably recommend it but i dont. The reason I wont a mustang so bad is that my brother had a White 89 Mustang Convertible & it was so bad , he would make everybody eat his dust plus he got alot of chicks wit it. But he sold it so now I want a mustang.

Strength:

* Still in very nice condition
* Handles curves great
* Very roomy in front
* Several luxuries for being older
* Big trunk
* Drives well in bad weather compared to my other mustang (1990)
* Runs great
* Long lasting (mine's in perfect condition, still looks classy)

Weakness:

* Very small backseat
* TERRILBLE gas mileage

* A great car for what I paid: $1800
* Very impressive extras for being older
* If you don't mind paying the gas, I would definitely recommend it.
* Not for someone looking to buy a practical car.
* Perfect for someone who wants a classic at an affordable price.

Strength:

The 8 cyl growl, value, power, top down fun, tons of cornering grip due to ZR rated tires and stiff suspension

Weakness:

Handling! This car, although it has tons of grip, tosses, bounces, and shimmies when driven even modestly on less than perfect roads because of the solid live rear axel (come on ford... get with the program and get independednt!). It's difficult to hang on! I read that the new '00 Cobra now has independent rear suspension.. i want to try one! The convertable has too much body twist. The interoir has developed many rattles after only 25k miles.

I recently bought a Audi A4 Quattro with sports suspension which really makes the Mustang seem like a bucket of bolts (albiet, the A4 does not get the attention!).

Stock suspension is too high with the 17" GT wheels/tires.

Car was purchased used for 17.5k with only 14k miles in Dec '99. It's beautiful to look at. Car can be a lot of fun to drive, but watch it on rough and/or wet pavement. The back end can jump out on you.

I fixed the height problem by changing from stock to Eibach lowering springs. Ride was effected only slightly, but cornering and overall looks improved a lot.

I will give only 3 stars due to it's busy handling. Five for value

Awesome shape... GREAT handling... NO problems ! ! ! New to the shop except for oil changes ! V6 got us over 35 MPG on a trip ! ! ! Fun to dirve around town and we took it through a 3 state trip and still had fun !

The handling was very good for the V6 especially for having the 'scaled down' suspention compaired to the GT and Cobra. The car held you in place and you felt like you were in a rocket ! Recomend to get the 16" or 17" wheels.

Car stopped great. The 4 way standard disc breaks is a nice plus.

You almost killed the pony name in the 80's... Ford is getting better.

Weakness:

V6 was too weak, but the stick helped.
Not a good car for more than 2 people.
GT's are a little weak too.. but then my other car has 650 HP !
Handling was good, but for the name Mustang I expected a better sway bar system. First gear was dead, but 35 mph drop was good.

really need a better muffler system, and since they used headers they should have just finished the exaust dual. Put some California Turbo's on it.

I thing p/u pould have been better if they would have increased the compression and increase to 4 valve/cylinder system.

The car is a really nice, sporty car that has some kick and yet great MPG. Do not get an automatic with the V6.. then again no real sports car is an automatic.

If it wouldn't have been for a growing family we would still have it.

It was good of Ford to increase the HP on the 2000's. Being raised as a 'grease monkey' and always driving power cars, I was impressed with this car. ALTHOUGH I WOULD NEVER GET A V6 AGAIN. And I was raised MOPAR... The older cars I'll take the 340, 426 Hemi, 440 and 383.. but as for the new cars and the pricing of them.. you CANNOT beat the pricing for the car when it comes to the Pony.... The famous Ford Mustang !

Strength:

The Mustang, New Beetle and PT Cruiser are probably the only three unique cars on the road that make you smile. They may not be the best cars, but the car's looks draw attention even after the car has been out for a while. It's just cool. Period.
Throaty growl of the engine and exhaust--even in the base model.
Great seats (in front, that is)]

Weakness:

This car doesn't have the refinement of most new models. It doesn't feel well screwed together, or smooth, yet--after 18 months we haven't had one thing to fix. But if you expect Asian, European or even average American sophistication, look elsewhere. This car is about style and fun--not being practical.

For practical transportation, no. For the sheer fun of it, yes.

Similar Products Used:

There are similar cars in this class, but nothing with a comparable personality. That's why Ford can't make Mustangs fast enough. Mustang may not be the best in class, but it's the most fun in class.

Strength:

Handles well, very easy to work on, very durable, fun to drive, has lasted longer than most other cars of it's age.

Weakness:

Back seat rather small(though it is a sportscar)
No cup holder
2.3l engine leaves alot to be desired, especialy when passing.
Glad to have a 5 spd. as I imagine an auto would be somewhat painful to drive.
Rust (though it is around 14 years old)
Little to no traction in winter

Do not remember how much I paid for it. This car has held up to alot of abuse (unintentional off-roading). 2.3L is excelent on gass, as is to be expected, but does lack power. I love this car though a 5 litre engine or even a v6 would be an extreme improvment. The 2.3l is a great value for anyone looking for a good reliable car and is not terribly concerned about power.

Good handling - tons of performace enhancements available...

Weakness:

None, bad in the snow but what do you expect for a rear wheel drive sports car...

This car handles great and I have had no real problems with it. The only grip I woould have is they should have used higher quality tires from the factory... The factorty tires wear out quickly and will cost about $800 -$1000 to replace...

Model Reviewed: Mustang Convertible

Strength:

*Styling - it's an envy machine wherever I go! Parents with kids and minivans stare longingly.
*Power - V6, manual transmission makes for great muscle and a solid feel of power no matter the gear. It's not a zippy as a VTEC engine, but hey, it's a Mustang.
*Convertible - I will NEVER have another type of car for summer driving. The power roof lowers and raises quickly. Get the optional glass rear-window with defrost.
*Size - it's big, but not bulky. I feel safe, but snug and everything is within reach for this 5' 3" driver.
*Sound system - I got the optional high-end system and it was worth it. It's not a very noisy car, surprisingly, even with the top down. But the stereo delivers high quality sound no matter your speed or roof situation.

Weakness:

*Gear Shift/Cup Holder/Stereo placement - very awkward and the cupholder next to the gear shift is completely useless unless you have a very short cup. CD's are difficult to eject and put in while in 1st, 3rd or 5th gear.
*Gas mileage. This is not the car for fuel conservation enthusiasts. I have a 70 mile commute each way, 5 days a week and I EASILY spend $40 in gas each week.
*Back seat space - Usually it's just my dog back there, but when I do have passengers I'm always apologizing for the lack of leg room.

I'm leasing, which is a great deal better than buying. I got all the options except the smoker's package and the bottom line was a little over $24K. With ABS and traction control, anti-theft device and air bags, the insurance wasn't bad either.

It's not a family car - no room. Nor is it a good winter car. I met with a ditch this winter and immediately got big fat snow tires for the rear - all-weather radials are completely useless on this heavy, rear-wheel drive car. I plan on buying a winter car towards the fall and garaging the 'Stang for the winter.

The power steering on a stiff frame still lets you feel the road, which to me is not a bad thing. Rear passengers have commented that it feels a bit like a roller-coaster back there, and when the top is down, they feel like they might be sucked out the back. The rear seat is surprisingly high and a tall person easily looks over the windshield. I make sure everyone is buckled up back there!

But on a warm summer day, with the top down, the stereo blasting and the road winding out in front of me, nothing would make me give up this car. It is utterly cool, a pleasure to drive and looks way better than my dad's Seabring (which isn't available with manual transmission!).

The Mustang convertible is the perfect mid-sized sports car for the single or no-kid couple, who can keep a second car for the winter.

My first two cars were a 1981 Datsun 280ZX, which ended up nickel and diming me to death (fun car though), and a 1989 Honda CRX Si, which was a fabulous car. Ideally, if you could breed the engine efficiency of a Honda with the styling of the Mustang and give it front wheel drive....
