Ford Mustang (2010 and older) Sports

DESCRIPTION

The Mustang has been redesigned for 2010. Fresh new sheet metal wraps around an updated interior, giving the icon a more modern look and feel.

The Mustang is available either as a coupe or convertible. Each is available with a V6 or a V8. The 210-hp 4.0L V6 carries over unchanged. The 4.6L V8 receives an increase in power - producing 315-hp for 2010. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; a five-speed automatic is optional. All Mustangs are equipped with standard electronic stability control and LED sequential tail lamps for enhanced safety.

Model Reviewed: v6 Premium trim

Strength:

Great looks! Mach460 stereo is great sounding for a factory system. Lots of power even in v6 trim. A blast to drive. Steering is responsive. Suspension is stiff enough to be fun, but gives enough to be comfterable. I'm 6'3 and fit in the cockpit fine, no cramping. No quality control problems at all. Fit and finish was exellent.

Weakness:

Clutch is a little notchy, but nothing horrible. Back seat is for midgets. Trunk space is good for a car in its class, but not good for hauling large loads. Not a great poor weather vheicle, but not as bad as people had me to belive. If you drive smart you'll be fine.

Great car, great looks, great feel. I love it. Don't buy a mustang if you're looking for something pratical...then you can get a jetta, but if you want a fun car that gets lots of eyeballs, get a mustang.

Strength:

Excellent aggressive styling(with spoiler+16"wheels).definitely a chick
magnet(do not get this car if you do not want attention).performs well for
what it is meant to do(if you want a muscle car go with the gt).Excllent with 5spd.nice supportive seats (sport bucket option).Excellent sound system(mach 460).I get lots of compliments from females and so many numbers I don't know what to do with them.

Weakness:

NO backseat(then again if you are want one than you are in the wong area)
5spd clutch takes some time to get used to.
abs+traction control only offered as an option(should be standard)
Gets alot of attention from cops.
questionable long term reliability.I have the warranty but you never know with ford...

Got this car for 16500 with 6k miles on it has mach 460 abs, traction control, spoiler(a must have), convenience group,16"wheels( will soon
upgrade to chrome.don't get 17" unless you want to spend mad loot at the
gas station since the V6 iiis not powerful enough). Many many females.
do not get this if you will have more than two "average"sized passengers.
My first and I'm in love with it.Great deals can be made on this car.I
definetely recommend it

Strength:

Power is good (V-8), handling is good,460 mach stereo is good, and the price was great.I have not pushed the car to its limits yet but seems to be very responsive.

Weakness:

Not much room inside. I had more room in my vette then in the Mustang

This is my first Ford and if you want to compare performance and looks versus dollars, you can't beat it.

Strength:

Very dependable, lots of power for a small V-8(281ci w/260hp/302lbft torque,my GT is the true 35th Ann. Edition(4,628 made) and gets lots of looks and compliments. I have always had some Mustang and this is my 5th.
Build quality is right on for the money, which is very good.

Weakness:

Ford could add some more horsepower(approx 35 to the GT) to the Mustang and lower it a little.

I would recommend a Mustang to anyone wanting a great American legend with powerful V-8 or the V-6 for that matter. There is nothing quite like a Mustang for the money. Imports and domestics alike. They are not for really young people who have to pay their own insurance, but are worth it to some, including me. No 4cyl import or domestic can beat a Mustang in performance dollar for dollar.

Similar Products Used:

1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28- is no comparison to the Mustang, overall build quality is poor and misfitting. Engine is strong, but it doesn't mean much if the rest is trash.

Big problem..... I just bought this car about 12 days ago.... Ford did not do a good job on making it... Very poor workmanship on the roof pannel.... Scared other parts are going to fall apart...

Weakness:

Ford Guide Lines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very poor workmanship!!!!

I bought this car under 2 weeks ago and on the 11th day.... I noticed the roof inside pannel completly coming off on the driver's side... I called Ford Customer Service to explain my problem. I was told that everything is fine and the car would be fixed at the convinience of ford service repair. I moved my schedule to bring my car to the service department and was there for 5 min. and told that the part needs to be ordered it will take a week. Also told, for me to call and check if the part came in. I was wondering why a service center would have the customer call to check if his part is in for his defective car. Let me remind you that the car is 12 days old. The Ford customer Service offered me a free oil change because of my situation or problem. I'm worried that if the workmanship of the new car is so bad now; what would happen down the road? The Customer service center said " due to ford guidelines we can't offer you anything..." I was not even listen to in my conversation to try to explain my complaint. The car was paid for cash!! All of the car was paid for!!! Basically they explained that they will try to fix it and will try to help me out. But, will offer a free oil change for the service. This car was made poorly in the interior area... Im worried what will happen to my investment in a couple of months am I going toh ave to go back tot he service center for another repair. When should one be upset about a brand new car being all messed up. I would love to know if I am wrong on this part?

Value one star because i feel it is going to fall apart in the future.
Overall 3 because it is a fun car to drive.

Strength:

LOOKS GREAT, HANDLES GREAT, LADIES LOVE IT, IM ONLY 19 SO I HAD TO GO WITH THE V-6 FOR INSURANCE REASONS, BUT I LOVE IT I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THAT DAMN WARRANTY OFF MY BACK.

Weakness:

KINDA SUCKS IN THE SNOW BUT HEY IT IS A REAR WHEEL DRIVE RIGHT SO OH WELL, FORD COULD HAVE SQUEEZED A LITTLE EXTRA HORSEPOWER JUICE OUT OF THE V-6 BY ADDING HIGHER PERFORMANCE PARTS SUCH AS AN INTAKE OR SOMETHING LIKE THEY DID WITH THE TOP OF THE LINE ZX2(THOSE SUCK).

I LOVE THIS CAR, I'M 19 AND YES I BOUGHT IT NOT MY MOMMY AND DADDY, CHICKS LOVE THE RED STANG MAD WOMEN ALL OVER THE PLACE :o). FORD IS THE $HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE 2001 STANGS EVEN MORE, DAMN I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOW THEY WERE GONNA LOOK LIKE THAT I WOULD HAVE WAITED FOR THE 2001. BUT HEY IT'S ALL THE SAME. FORD YOU RULE THE ROAD, JUST WISH FORD WOULD CONSIDER MAKING A SPECIAL V-6 MODEL OR JUST ADD AN INTAKE OR SOME PERFORMANCE PARTS TO THE V-6 MODELS IN THE FUTURE. BUT OTHER THAN THAT I WOULD NOT TRADE MY STANG IN FOR ANY CAMARO OR FIREBIRD.

Model Reviewed: GT Convertible

Strength:

- Stylish, good looks. Muscular, but not garish looking.

- Very good engine power and sound. High-revving engine that's not lacking too much in torque. Variety of aftermarket mods for even better performance.

- Very affordable, pretty good build quality for the price.
- Convertible top has proven reliable enough.

Weakness:

- Poor fuel economy, but geez, WHO CARES!

- The car is just too big. Design still stuck in the 1950's/1960's hot rod era.

- Uncomfortable cockpit for large drivers.

- Driver stance is too high and too far away from the road. Excessively long hood obstructs vision.

- Back seats are useless.
- Shift knob is too long, clutch is too deep (easily correctable).

Not economical enough for daily driving in the city, absolutely fun to drive on the highway or open road. The convertible's look good. This bright red convertible still gets that "whoah, nice car!" at gas stations and parking lots. It does handle surprisingly well for a large car. A good second car, great "weekend fun" car. It's reliable enough for daily driving if you maintain in properly and don't mind visiting the gas pump often.

Cockpit fits me ok (I'm only 5'8"). A buddy has a '98 Cobra and hates the cockpit (he's 6'4"). Reading the reviews here, I see others complain of exactly the same thing.

The only thing that compares to it is the Camaro Z28 in my opinion. Camaro has a beefier engine at an unbeatable price, but the Camaro is WAY TOO BIG and kinda ugly. The 'stang is much better looking; although still oversized, is a bit more trim and stylish.

I would not recommend the V6 at all. If you are looking at this car, consider the smaller, sportier Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

The 281cid V8 GT is a fun, good looking car right off the showroom floor. The motor isn't exactly weak, but I am still looking to purchase a set of exhaust headers and a supercharger. Consider a Cobra, Roush S2 Mustang, or a Saleen Mustang if you are looking for true sportscar performance at an affordable price right off the lot (my only regret is that I might have purchased a Saleen s281 model instead of the GT).

Model Reviewed: LX 2.3

Strength:

This small engine has great torque. It is a 2.3 coupe lx 5 speed. I have only had to put oil in it a few times. Great brakes.Strong engine. This is my first car.

Weakness:

This mustang 2.3 should have good gas milage but mine doesn't. only 14-15 mpg. Very bad winter car. Burnouts suck, and hard to find rims for.

I would recomend this car because it has a very strong engine. Sucks on gas but still a great ride. I wish I had a 5.0 because there is lots of room under the hood. I also want to get a spoiler for it. Very good looking car. Go out and buy one.

Model Reviewed: Saleen S-351 S/C

Strength:

-POWER, POWER, POWER!
-Extremly loud, deep sounding exhaust
-Great handleing
-Very fast

Weakness:

-Too much torque, you'll find yourself spinning the tires alot
-Not enough room in the trunk for subwoofers, cooling vents run through the trunk to the rear wheels.

I recomend this car to any one who wants the fastest car on the road. I'm talking about beating Vipers and high end Corvettes. Extremly fast, 0-60 in 4.3 seconds with light upgrades, K&N filter and a performace chip. Hits the quarter mile in 11.59@130 mph. No other car can touch that. Can take to the track and beat many heavly modified cars. Great attention getter. Everywhere you go people will stop what they are doing to take a look, and then a second look. Great styling, meanest looking car on the road. There is no reason not to buy this car if you can shell out $70,000.

Power Power Power...

Weakness:

hmm...i got some teeny tiny rust spots on my car already...pisses me off...gotta find some way of getting it off....i guess thats one drawback of having a white car. Rust shows up easily and is very easy to spot.
the occasional tire spinout is kinda irritating too, but im getting used to it.

i love the torque getup from a dead stop. Of course im saying this because i drove a 1986 Mazda 626 with only 93hp beforehand. I also love the sound of this engine and have no performance problems yet! i could speak accolades about this car, but i am not. People should test drive it and find out for themselves if this is the car for them. taste is subjective after all. however, i would recommend this car for anyone who values power over anything and everything else. Even just for the v6, I love my 2000 white v6! its damn gorgeous and has plenty of power for me. maybe when im older and insurance gets down and the power on my v6 doesnt satisfy me anymore, i will get the GT. But for now, the v6 is great! A lady parking attendant where i work at even complimented me on my car! Woohoo! first for me!
