Strength:

Quattro + Turbo = great off the line starts and taking turns with ease; not to mention added security in bad weather. Interior matched by no other. Its looks attract women!

Weakness:

It''s heavy - Needs more power to compete with similar vehicles. No need to have the back seat (or 2+2 configuration); could have saved some weight in this hefty vehicle by not having those seats in back.

This is a great all around performer. It handles, stops, and accelerates with ease while looking good, inside and out. Although I''d like more power to back up its looks.

Strength:

Unique looks, nimble handling, short throw shifter, and mid - upper range power.

Weakness:

Blind spots, lack of low-end power and turbo lag from dead starts.

The G20 is a very nice car for a 4-door sedan in the low $20K price range. Heck, the clutch lasted 150,000 miles, but it''s like comparing apples to oranges against the TT. Even a comparison between the Z3, S000 and 230 SLK isn''t quite right, because each, while small sports cars have different features and aesthetics. Performance wise the TT is close to the Z3, S2000 and 230 SLK, but if you were to ask me I’d say it''s more of a choice of which body style do you prefer, two seat roadsters or a four seat hard top? Okay, the two seats in the back of the TT coupe are more for putting packages or small children in, but it does have enough space for mini trips. Another consideration is whether you like the simplicity of German vs. Japanese design. With the Honda S2000 you probably have a reliably fast sports car, clean and sterile. With the TT you have more of an elemental ride and the nagging little nit picks, which I’ll discuss in the “Weakness section:”, but also classic design and looks. Strengths: Summary-Unique styling, handling, good brakes and pretty good acceleration. The thing I like about the TT is it''s overall styling. On the outside it''s a cross between the new VW Bug, Karmann Ghia and Porsche 911. A modern-retro style rolled into one, a clean, unique and curvaceous piece from the Bauhaus school of design. The uni-body frame is rock solid with anti-lock disc brakes and dual front and side impact air bags as standard fare with all models. This will help keep you safer in a collision, not just give you the illusion of safety. Getting in and out of the TT is no easy task, even for a five foot six inch guy like me, but once seated inside it is quite spacious. Everything was within reach including the passenger door latch though. The interior is a unique blend of brushed aluminum, circular in design, attractive in its simplicity and uncluttered looks, unlike that of the above mentioned three sports cars. Seats are by Recaro, and are very comfortable; easy to get in and out of, non-fatiguing, but hold you firmly in place even during quick side to side maneuvers. Get the Valcona leather seats, they look and smell terrific! Need to weave your way between the back markers of normal everyday traffic? Boy this baby can handle! It slices and dices its way past slower vehicles with abomb and control. The combi

The only review''s here that mention the S2000 having no power is because they are shifting at 3000-4000 rpm''s. If you compare the time it take''s the S2000 to reach redline to the TT, it''s very close. Therefore the time it take''s the engine to get to redline is similar. If you are an enthusiat driver, then you know how to drive with the ''usable'' powerband in the S2000. It''s actually easier for me to drive the Honda around town because I can easily keep it under 6000 rpm''s, where as the TT''s lag''s, then boost characteristics become annoying as well.

Weakness:

The cabin of the TT holds heat a little to well even when it''s cold(horrible when it''s hot). The angular C pillars with the short window design do not allow for sufficiant air flow, therefore making the cabin of the TT 6-8 degrees warmer than ambient temperature. This become''s incredibly annoying when running erands.

First off, the honda has impecable build quality. The interior styling may not look as nice as the TT, but at least it''s functional. The TT low roof design makes for really annoying blind spots(coupe) that my S2K doesn''t ever have to worry about and the convertable look''s like an upside down tub on wheels! The interior roof edge where the door closes also makes you bump your head when driving sporty(bad design). The numbers; weight- S2000 2785lbs. | TT 3300+lbs. ||| power; S2000 240hp | TT 225hp ||| The verdict: No way, no how, regardless of low-end torque, is a vehicle 500lbs heavier going to out corner, out accelerate, or out brake an S2000. Period!!!! As far as upgrading the exhaust or modifications with a chip, the car is still a heavy, lethargic, beast that''s a wannabe PORSCHE. You should have bought a Carrera. HAHAH!!!

Model Reviewed: 225TT Quattro Coupe

Strength:

Powerful engine, excellent quality, sleek looks.

Weakness:

The car is quick from the factory but it should come from the factory with the 260 horsepower ECU upgrade...

I drove this car back to back with the Honda S2000. The build quality wasn''t even comparable. The S2000 seemed very inexpensive and more inline with their civic vehicles. I prefered the torque that the TT had down low, something the 2000 lacked enormously. I prefered the top-end of the S2000 after 6000rpms but below that it was incomparable, the TT had much more "usable" power. I understand why the TT engine was rated one of the world''s best engines by consumer reports. As far as handling, I prefer the AWD to the rear wheel drive, and after driving the TT (with ESP off) I was able to drift the vehicle in the turns very nicely, it had a very neutral feel. I have read accounts of tall drivers having problems, but I have to say that I am 6''2" and have no problems with interior room. As far as "looks" go, the TT has a much more upscale/classic look and is inline with other German rivals such as the Boxster and Z3. Not that the S2000 is a bad vehicle, it just doesn''t compare in my opinion to the TT. It may have slightly more in the power department, but is mostly unusable in everyday use without compromising the longevity of the engine. There are also simple chip upgrades for the Audi for under $500 that will put the horsepower in the 260 arena, making the car faster than a Boxster S and definitely the S2000. These reasons definitely made up my mind when choosing this car. Now that I own it, I can say that it was the right decision. I really enjoy the car, and it has met or exceeded my initial expectations in every way. I upgraded the "chip" from a company that tunes European automobiles, and the end result is incredible. Why didn''t Audi program this car like this from the factory? The TT with 260-270 horsepower definitely deserves the term "sports car"

Strength:

6 spd transmission. Eye catching controversial looks. Daily drivability.

Weakness:

Eye catching controversial looks. Acceleration is not as good as I expected.

I like the car a lot actually. Unfortunately, for me, it falls into the same category as the Honda Civic Si. A car that looks faster than it really is. This car should be a competitor with the Honda Prelude, but because of it's price tag it is up there with the Z-3, S2000, etc.
I only test drove the TT so I haven't pushed it's handling to the limits, but I have pushed it 100% for acceleration to about 65-70mph. It's peppy, magazines quote mid to low 7 second range 0-60mph. I would say it feels slightly faster...in the low 7 second range. It accelerates a tad slower than my Prelude, and doesn't feel as nice in terms of sportiness. However, it's much more comfortable, catches more looks, and you get the Audi name. I recommend it if you've got the $$$ to burn. But if $$$ is a big issue, there are other cars that offer better performance, with decent looks, but for much cheaper.

Strength:

Acceleration is great, awesome audio system, great interior design,fit-and-finish is also great. Car sticks to the road really well. Suspention is wonderfully balanced.

Weakness:

The cup holders are kind of hard to reach. Thats about it.

First of all let me just say in response to one of the other reviews that's below mine, that the BMW Z3 does not have more HP and Torque, the BMW Z3 Coupe 2.8 has 193hp@5500 and 206torque@3500.So That review is wrong.
I paid 45k for my audi and i don't regret it one bit. The Audi dealer was surprisingly nice and helpful. When I test drove the TT he didn't bother me about me speeding like crazy along the deserted roads. He was extremly helpful and kept on talking to me throughout the drive. The TT also has an amazingly a lot of components built into it; the Bose sound system is incredible. The AWL sticks to the road like crazt glue. I love to push this car and amzingly like some other sport cars it doesn't push back. The manual tranny is wonderful smooth as a babys bottom. I was thinking of maybe adding some Yokahama or Pirelli Tires, and maybe even a Nos Nitrous Oxide system. But that would have to wait for next year for now i'll just be exploring my TT's capabilities. I would defenitly recommend this car to EVERYONE!!

Model Reviewed: TT Roadster (Quattro of course)

Strength:

Torque, Women seem attracted to it (normally a good thing), price, luxury, quality of build, and NO rattles or anything to date) the ESP system RULES, anyone who disagrees is an idiot, with the quattro system and esp i was able to drive home thru 5 inchs of snow after i crashed into a curb after sliding on a BIG sheet of black ice @ 20 to 25 mph. i had a left wheel bent about 45 degrees left while my right wheel was about 10 to the right, while using the stock bridgestone potenzas, which SUCK ROYALLY in the snow since they are summer only tires which pack like slicks in the snow... i did slide a little because i couldn't get any grip out of the tires, but it kept me on the road in what would have normally made me crash instantly (after installing snow tires after getting my car back only 4 days later, the next snow was awesome as i cruised through corners in 4 inch deep snow going in excess of 30 mph and still staying on the road.) another good thing about the price is that audis rates are good, which made it possible for me to afford this as my first car that i bought, my first car was given to me. (i work hard as heck + i've been saving money for my car believe it or not since i was either 8 or 9. So i get alot of girls asking for rides to school or whatever quite a bit more than i used to with my jeep that i had @ first.

Weakness:

I have a problem with the dome light staying on sometimes after i close my door (even though the little computer screen thingy says its closed), this happens sometimes when i put the top down but goes away within a few minutes to a day), this is covered under warranty but i just haven't bothered with it yet because i can just turn the light off of auto, which is better than being without my TT for a day or 2. Cupholders are kinda weird (position wise) but they do look nice, and when you think about it, if they were somewhere else, it would mess up the interiors smooth lines... barely top up noise from rear is also a VERY small irritation but thats because of the low profile tires and the high air pressure they require but the fun factor is much greater...

WOW!!!!!!! A really great car, that gets lots of looks, goes very fast, and doesn't cost 60 to 100 thousand. Besides those things, its luxurious, and the brushed aluminum accents with the Amber Baseball Optic Leather (looks like a baseball glove, i guess thats kinda obvious... anyway), and the Nimbus Grey metallic paint, makes for one beatiful car that always delivers high torque when you need it via its torque curve (more like straight a line) being @ a constant peak torque level from something like 2400 rpm to i believe 4600 rpm. I have tuned my TT up to 300+ hp with exhaust, filter element (just a k&n drop-in), and a very big turbo and it beats the crap out of anything comparable, and still costs less and looks better than a boxster S even after the performance upgrades and body kit from Caractere (excellent VW and Audi body kit company)

Similar Products Used:

S2000 - sluggish until the engine hits like 6000 rpm (wtf is with that), so while driving on back roads IT SUCKS AS... i mean butt!!!!!!!!!!
Boxster S= nice but not, more like a wannabe 911, plus cost WAY too much for what its worth.
BMW M roadster = nice, but suspension feels sloppy (a little more than tt) unless you drive it very easily or very hard. + cost too much, and interior is too cramped and car feels small due to ride height.

Great car, is fun to drive and has a great look. My first sport car and I am crazy about it. I can't wait for the next day to drive it.

Weakness:

The cup holder is in an akward position, also the aluminium bar on the front are unconfortable when you are a tall person.

I definetely recomend this car, it has a great look. I love the aluminium cover on the radio. However, if you try to drive it around busy cities such as New York is a little bit unconfortable to handle the transmission. Yet the look is great. Sometimes I get the feeling I am inside the cockpit of a plane due to the shape of the windows.
