Nissan Quest (2009 and older) Minivans | Wagons

Nissan Quest (2009 and older) Minivans | Wagons

DESCRIPTION

The 2009 Nissan Quest continues as the most distinctive and original minivan on the market – as well as one of the roomiest minivans in its segment. Following a major redesign just two years ago, changes for 2009 are minimal. The 2009 Quest is offered in four well-equipped models – 3.5, 3.5S, 3.5SL and 3.5SE.

The Nissan Quest powertrain comes from its standard 235-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission and responsive suspension design. A Traction Control System (TCS) is also standard, while Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) is standard on the 3.5 SE model.

Road car handling is not an afterthought with the Quest. The Nissan Quest features a 4-wheel independent suspension with a rear multi-link design and front and rear stabilizer bars. Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering is also standard, along with 4-wheel vented disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD).

Standard Quest safety features include Nissan’s Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) with dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt and occupant classification sensors, front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags and roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags for outboard occupant head protection for all three rows, front seat Active Head Restraints and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Strength:

Smooth ride. Powerfull (for a mini van). Excellent handeling in all weather conditions. VCR Player as standard equipment. Great styling. Excellent paint and finish quality. Long lasting engine and power train.

Weakness:

Gas milage could be better if engineers wanted it to be. Short on cargo space with a full load of passengers (we need a Quest EXT.

This is my 2nd Quest. My 1st was a 93 and was the 1st delivered to the southeast U.S. I believe the Quest is the best mini van on the road. I compared EVERY other mini van available in the U.S. and the quest won hands down! The overall quality of both of my quests is outstanding. They both have been extremly reliable and durable. It is a very veristile Vehicle also.

Strength:

It's roomy and can hold seven passengers. It has two sliding back doors. The second seat turns into a table making it easier for kids to eat in the car. On trips each kid can have his own seat. The kids enjoy the television. Back seat passengers can control their own airconditioner and the radio. I like the armrest on the driver seat and the radio dial on the steering wheel. It's easy to drive. Even though it's a large van, it drives like a mid-sized car.

Weakness:

The CD player ate my CD. I can't eject it. The lights in the radio went out. It would cost too much to have the radio repaired, so I didn't. Every year the belts chirp loudly and need to be replaced. It took four trips to Nissan before they could figure out the chirping problem. At first they told me the chirping happens whenever the belts get moist from being parked outside. This was not true, because I park in the garage. There was short in the wiring to the headlamp causing it to burn out often. A week after paying to have the headlamp repaired, the back airconditioner continued to run after the motor was turned off causing the battery to die. After running several diagnostic tests, Nissan can't seem to find the problem. After three years and 163,000 miles, it's time for another car.

I have enjoyed the van. It's roomy, has many little perks and my kids enjoy it too. However, I have had too many little problems.

This is my first mini van. I have used the Nissan Altima, and it was pretty good, just not enough room to fit all of our out of town guests into one car.

Strength:

Roomy, comfortable, smooth ride, tv/vcr,and powerful

Weakness:

None that I can think of!

My family (husband, 2 children) and I really enjoy this van. It is very comfortable and roomy! We have taken severa LONG road trips and its a smooth ride every time. It drives like a sedan, but has more power. We can't wait until the 2004 model comes out!

VCR, leather, dual sliding doors and power everything.

Weakness:

NEEDS MORE SPACE: Passenger and Cargo NEEDS A SMOOTHER RIDE NEEDS TO GET BETTER GAS MILAGE

I am very upset at the lack of space inside vehicle. My son's rear-facing car seat will not fit unless the seat in front of it is all the way forward. Not nearly enought cargo space. You buy a van so your family can travel with more room. Well let me tell you, my Monte Carlo had more room. Rattles and has a bumpy ride. It gets horrible gas milage. Reliability: I haven't owned it long enough to know.

Strength:

Plenty of power for a 170 HP V6, good insurance price, good fuel economy, overall good quality, 5 yr pwr train wrnty.

Weakness:

Cruise buttons don't light up at night, need more storage places, cheap finish on wood trim, floor mats should be same color than carpet(not brown!),back seat can only accomodate 2 adults.

First Minivan and we love it. Got a great deal on a GLE Model at Empire Nissan and so far we are very happy with the vehicle. Plenty of power and good fuel economy. We love the leather and the ent. system. Could use a bit more of cargo space.

Strength:

Nice handling (when car is working) Nice size

Weakness:

Wind noise, shakes and rattles, engine noises, weak power. Problems that I've had, the list goes on and on

I bought the van new after looking at Honda and Dodge. It worked great for a two years, basically, I have replaced so many parts, at least they were covered by warranty in the beginning. Lately I have had nothing but problems. I now have a one Nissan can't figure out. I'll NEVER buy another Nissan.

Strength:

Engine will last forever.

Weakness:

Electrical problems. Break pads needs replaced around every 20,000 miles. Accories will break.

I bought the 95/GXE van at 1998 used from the dealer at 61,400 miles on it already The follow is the list of fixes I've gone thru. 1) Engine Stud bolt missing: No body knows where it went. Neither did the dealer. Paid to get it fixed. 2) Noise from Chasis from the back: It started when I went over bumps the body would make a loud clicking noise. I paid the dealer to re-tighten the bolts. The problem went away. 3) Noise from Chasis from the front. Same as above. 4) Whinning noise from the engine. Due to a stud broke in the cam shaft. Paid to get fixed by dealer. 5) CV Boots worn out. Paid to change both by the dealer. 6) A/C went out fixed twice by the dealer and now it is out again. 7) CD player will not work anymore. It eats my cd and will not spit out. Never got it fixed. 8) Automatic Antenna will not retract. DIY fix. I bought the kit from the dealer. it was the antenna that broke not the motor. 9) Rear wiper will not work anymore. Not fixed because it is not that important. 10) Break lights went out: Recall from factory got it fixed. 11) Fuel leak from the fuel take vent hose: Recall from factor got it fixed. 12) Replace transmission: I ran over a rock and scratched thru my transmission during a winter trip to Sequoia National Park. A falling rock was sitting in the middle of the road and I went over it. This I agree was my fault. 13) Rear window poped out: The bolt attached to the rear window came off (by itself) I had to go to the dealer for parts to get it fixed (DIY fix) it was easy. 14) Head lights went out. DIY Fix by myself. I didn't know it was built by FORD otherwise it was out of my consideration. I think I have enough fixes already and it is probably not worth fixing anymore. It does have 163,000 miles on it and I'm not planning fixing the A/C.

will miss all wheel drive in winter.

Just wanted to say that the third row bench seat can be removed by 4 bolts and 4 screws. Any Mercury/Quest dealer will do it or you can do it yourself in less then 20 minutes.
