Strength:

The power surge after 40, I have not met a car that has beaten me, although I'll not try to race new BMW's or Supra type car's because you know why. The interior is awesome, I how everything is close to you and with in reach. Soundwise.... the sound is better than 90% of all stock cars. :) If you driving a bit faster then tha speed limit aka racing, watch out! the car has day light lights, and it is pretty easy to be spotted by our friends :).....that we all "love"

Weakness:

Suspention system is a bit crappy. And the back seat, well.....
Tires, Bridgestone sucks..... they were the stock ones... buy new ones

The celica is a great car. I have driven it for 9 months now and I really don't have too much conpetition with it. The only thing that I can say that I did not like is that the automatic version of GT 2000 is a bit slow at the begining just like all automatics, so I would strongly recommed that if you by celica, buy manual if you are looking for speed. Overall the car is good. And if you buy the TDR suspention and muffler. AND BETTER TIRES...the car is awesome

Similar Products Used:

Integra 97,
The integra is better in fast cornering. I can take a perticular corner, speed posted 35 with 80 no problem, but when I tryed with the celica :),,, I could not exceed more than 72.

Almost everything unless the antenna.

Weakness:

Interior plastic esay scratch.

Such a good car, Low price with great performance.
After you change the rims, add a full bodykit and change the s2000 antenna, it looks great. Because that's what i feel after i do those on my car, even all my friends say so.
Not enough power, of couse i'm driving a Auto GT.
I really recommand people to buy Celica, No question about it.

Model Reviewed: Celica GT-S 6spd.

Strength:

Good power to $ ratio, high reving engine, nice looking body, spoiler looks really nice on this car, interior layout, "cockpit feel", engine "lift" at high rpms

Weakness:

Blind spot (major weakness), tight gearbox for manual (lots of people misshifting and blowing up their engines, open rims attract rust inside easily

I can't really complain about the car-overall, but there were some imperfections that had to be taken care of after being purchased (broken headlights, tires were not alligned properlly). I must say that the dealer has been very accomadating and helpfull. Other than that, the car is very nice and worth the $.

*Remember that the Celica is only 4cyl., but still powerfull in it's own right. It can't really compare to the Mustang GT and Camero Z28, although they all are similar in price. Compared to the Acura, I prefer the Celica; I was not too crazy with the Integra's design. I think the Celica's quality is higher than that of the Mustang and Camero, but the power isn't even close. However, you can always aftermarket mod. the Celica up for a couple thous. and get ~220 HP out of the engine.

All girls jock. My car is lowered 2 inches on some 18's with a stereo, indiglo guages and cat-back exhaust, and I can't go anywhere without people approching me about my car (not a bad thing though, considering 75% of the time they are girls).

Weakness:

Blown motor twice, and has been in the shop 2 other times for transmission problems (and no, I don't race). The interior plastic sucks, everything scratches it. Headlights got water in them so they are all foggy. Car makes all kinds of little rattles. Oh ya, I get pulled over at least twice a month by are little friends (PIGS). Not to many after market parts available, and the ones that are available, you are going to get charged an arm and a leg.

It is the best car to pick up on girls. Other than all the girls jocking, yes, while there with their men in those Hondas, the car isn't worth the money. I am selling the car and getting the 2002 Acura RSX Type-S.

Model Reviewed: /SX

Strength:

*It looks stunning especially from the front.
*Very economical, 1.8 litre can easily get 650km+ on the highway on a full tank. When driven normally.
*Great acceleration all the way up to 160kmh.Haven't taken it faster, but it just wants to keep going.
*Very responsive.
*Great steering and handling.
*Great sound system, not cheap- acceptable.
*When the revs hit 6000rpm,then you know where all those horses are hiding. The celica transforms- it goes through "metamorphism", it is no longer the car it was.The trick is to keep it high up there- between 6000rpm and 7800rpm, although I don't know how good it is for the engine. It especially fun when you are on the highway and you are overtaking a line of cars.
*** The interior must be one of the BEST looking cockpits compared to any car. Well done toyota!! However the plastic could be replaced with some other material, to make it look more of a high value or quality.
*The seats are great!
*The six speed gear box is nice and smooth.
*All controls are very close to the driver.
*It has good air interior filters as the air coming from the outside becomes clean.
*Very comfortable ride-great suspension for a sports car.
*Engine sounds great especially when you are going through a tunnel.
... there is more but I have forgotten for now. Next review I will add some.

Weakness:

*Rear visibility can be improved (use your mirrors when parking) When the driver's side mirror is moved all the way to point to the ground, you can actually see the back rear wheel- so it helps parking the car.
*In the night it is easy to forget to turn on your headlights-because the dash board is always "lit up". It is funny because I like to have my dash dim-as it gives me more visibility when looking out at night. A problem is when I turn on the lights at night my dash goes from "bright" to "dim".
*Not made for city driving.
*The back could be improved. If it had two circle back lights (just like the skyline) it would look even more fantastic. Come on Toyota do something about those back lights.

I bought this car as a demonstration vehicle from the dealer for $35k AUSTRALIAN dollars. At the time I got a good deal value for money. In Australia there is the SX and ZR available. Both have the same engine (VVTL-i 140kW). The SX doesn't come with a sunroof, where as the ZR comes with a sunroof, bigger wheels and some other extras. SX has 15 inch alloys whereas the ZR has 16 inch alloys. But you can add a sunroof when you purchase. Value rating at the time I give it 5 stars. Overall rating I give it 4.5 stars. On the highway it performs fantastically, especially when you rev it high. In the city it drives like a little crappy car. But I guess, it is made for the highway-it is a sports car! Biggest strengths are its
1. Interior (THE BEST)
2. handling and
3. Very attractive when polished and washed.

Biggest weakness:
1. City driving. It is not made for it.

Similar Products Used:

I have driven bigger cars- 6 cylinders and 8 cylinders have something extra. That is "torque". The celica lacks torque. But comparing it in its range- it is a more comfortable ride than a honda integra type R.

Strength:

Cornering cornering cornering...... great handling for the price. Looks and I like the tires although others have disagreed.

Weakness:

-Plastic inside scratches easily.
-wheel hop when trying to squeel the tires from a stand still....although this isn't a BIG problem.
-orange gauges are my favorite

Owned for 1.5 years so far and no troubles. I push the car quite often and still no complaints from it. No rattles or extra noises, its hanging together nicely after 30000 miles. Nothing but gas and oil changes.
The speeding tickets are getting anoying... Fun car to drive.

pokey off the line, sometimes the gears shift incorrectly and the car jerks, legroom in back is a nightmare when any tall person gets in

great design, great pickup (even with my auto trans), and great handling. test drove a bmw and an audi today and when i got back into my celica i didn't want to get out. the car is very pokey with an auto trans off the line, but when the vvt-i kicks in watch out. i smoked my friends automatic 2001 eclipse GT when we raced, but got crushed by an acura TL.

Acceleration is unmatched by other cars in it's class.
Very stylish..except maybe the back end.
Very solid handling.
32-34 MPG!!! 'nuf said.
And the number one strength...WOMEN LOVE IT! :-)

Weakness:

-ok...blind spot is bad...but if you adjust your mirrors out far enough it is not a problem.
-Interior scratches easily.
-Aftermarket products are EXPENSIVE!

Incredible. I have been driving my GT for a year and a half and have had no problems with it after 30000 miles. I like to push the car quite a bit and it is always up to the challenge. Handles like a charm. I use this car for Slalom racing and beat out an Integra, Mustang Saleen, Audi TT just to name a few. And talk about pickup. off the line she really doesn't feel like a little 4-banger. I have had many friends ask me if i had a V-6 in the car after a race. the only cars that have really beat me off the line are higher end domestics (Camaro Z28, Corvette, and other V-8 monsters). Kept up with a 3000GT no problem. I even felt like it has better pickup than the GT-S until the GT-S' VVTL kicks in.
It sounds great, especially with a cold air intake and i am have heard ones with the TRD exhaust...wow.
Very worth while. Just be careful...it is easy to speed and get $500 speeding tickets. (Not that i would know or anything :)
Great for all ages...young people...watch for cops. "More experienced" drivers (older :-) Love that fuel economy!

sporty, great gas mileage, looks great inside and out

Weakness:

blind spot on the right,

Good power between 3k-4k range. Low torque/power below that. The exterior and interior looks great. The interior especially w/ its' easy to reach radio controls and nice looking three spoke steering wheel. The dash also has a nice symmetrical look to it.

It gets great gas mileage. About 400 miles a fill up (manual trans.)

The ride is firm, but not to rough. and the cornering is great w/ only a hint of body roll.
