Strength:
Smooth Styling, small, quick, handles like a dream. Lots or HP (180) for a tiny 1.8L engine, Great Mileage. Good Safety options, Dr/Pass/Side Airbags, ABS, etc. Cockpit molds around you, controls are easily accessible. Very easy to read driver gauges. Revs to the moon!
Weakness:
Tight getting into, but you can't expect much. Easy to bang up the int. door panels when releasing your seatbelt. Takes the engine a little bit to catch up off the line, but makes it up as the revs climb. I bought this car to help me cope with getting rid of my motorcycle (2000 YZF-R6). Since my bike was the lightest in it's class with the most power, I needed a suitible subsitute. I was weary at first, but the celica is turning out to be a gem of a car. Very quick, responsive, safe, economical and it comes in blue (just like my bike: www.NixR6.com). I'm having trouble locating parts for this car, and what I have found seems a little pricey, but expected on a sporty import I guess. Good News, despite what I read about it, the celica's truck allows for ample space for my golf bag! I recommend this car to anyone who thinks that cars are more than just a means of transportation. Celica GT
Strength:
Excellent acceleration for its size. Packs plenty of pep for a little 4-cyl., and you'd never notice the difference between the GT and GTS unless you keep the pedal floored all the time. Handles better than the vast majority of cars.
Weakness:
Aerodynamics make hydroplaning an issue; Celica owners without the ABS option can run into some trouble in a slide, due to the streamlining. Car's sweet spot could be positioned better (the Celica can't drive at 65; it begs to do a minimum of 80). 21000 paid, for a GT model with all the toys; definitely recommend the Celica over the Mustang, and all Honda and Acura competitors. Lots of Strengths...great looks...gets the chicks...stylish interior...nice sound system...lots of trunk space...gets the chicks...futuristic look...great on gas...oh yeah, it gets the chicks...
Weakness:
The plastic is really cheap and already has scratches on it...some highway noise, but nothing significant, besides that, not too much to complain about. Well, i love this car, its the first time i'm driving a manual transmission, and i'm loving it. The looks are amazing, there's nothing much to complain about exept for the blind spots and poor visibility out of the back window. When you compare the car you get, and the price you pay to other vehicles of its class, then there's simply no match. Next on the line in terms of looks would be the Z3,which is another 50K extra. I saved 7K buy buying the GT instead of the GTS, and there's not much to complain about unless you want a bit more horsepower and the sunroof which looks sweet, but isn't that great. Overall, it gets the chicks, it serves it purpose, a definite buy... Similar Products Used: Prelude, Eclipse, Tiburon, Cougar. |

celica GTS
Strength:
Somewhat good power and acceleration. Sound System is desent. Good for getting noticed (by cops as well).
Weakness:
Poor build quality. I have had the car for a few months now and I have found the interior to fall apart easily(feels like it is made of very cheap grade plastic). It has already gone to and from the dealership 8 times for different types of interior damage, break wear, and falty suspension. I would definately expect a better quality machine from Toyota. I would not recommend this car to anyone that doesn't have free access to repairmen. If given the choice I would recommend going for a better quality european car. Celica SS-3
Strength:
I love the 6 speed and the looks. Great acceleration if you know how to use the 6 speed manual. I burned every car i raced(integra, civic, accord coupe, and even the 2000 eclipse! 0-60 in 6secs! I got the new limited edition "SS-3". Which has a 200hp and, better stereo system and, better exhaust system and, leather seats.
Weakness:
The rims arent very good. I got new 19in. wheels the 2nd week i got the car. So far i've added 19in. rims, TRD body kit including the hood eyebrows, TRD exhaust system, quick shifter, thought about new speakers but the standard speakers are pretty descent. Planning to add a TRD supercharger in a couple of years to compete with the new models coming out. Got a remote for stereo with digital animations to go along with the great system. I got the SS-3 because I wanted to get the better celica than all the GT-S owners who think they got the best Celica. I've beaten every car whos wanted to race(integra,civic,accord,accord-coupe,and even the Type-R! Still waiting for the 2000 eclipse man who is ready to race. I tried to max out the speed on a trip to Las Vegas going head to head with a Camero and I got to 142mph and still rising because it was only at 7000rpm! The six speed is very useful on long trips. I recommend the celica SS-3 for those who want a faster car than the Celica GT-S and Integra Typr-R. and if you have a few extra grand in your pocket. It's worth the extra money. Similar Products Used: GT-S then heard about the new SS-3 which is a few G's more. But I plan on keeping this car for a very long time. |

Strength:
Handling, Brakes, 6-speed Shifter, and the sound of the engine purring at low revs or snarling (high revs). Quality construction, excellent finish and thoughtfully laid out interior.
Weakness:
Not a drag racer, but who cares. If you're a larger than average person don't even try to get into the driver's seat. I'd recommend this car if you're 5'11" tall or less (not much headroom) and are looking for a fast, fun-to-drive, safe small car with excellent brakes and superb handling, plus a surprising amount of room in the back. Similar Products Used: If you want to run the stop-light drag races, get a Mustang GT and put up with the Mustang's lousy brakes, shabby construction, rough ride and overall lack of finesse. If you're ok with econo-box styling and an ugly interior get the Golf VR6 (have fun waxing your painted grill). Get a Honda Prelude if you want a trunk instead of a hatchback. Buy the Mitsubishi Eclipse GS if you can't make up your mind, and can stand those grooves in the doors. |

a 6-speed GT-S, black w/black, 16 inch 5-spoke wheel racer. Acceleration after 5500 RPM. The handling is very good and the stering is very responsive. So far, 135 MPH is the highest I went and it was ready to go even heigher.
Weakness:
Less torque. It takes its time to gain acceleration from 0 MPH. I would say, buy it. Very good deal for your money. Similar Products Used: I test drove Mustang, Eclips and Integra and I found this one the best. |

Celice GTS
Strength:
The cars looks are sexy, and is a head turner. Above 6 grand its a pocket rocket. Handles well in turns with stock tires, with better tires the handling would improve. The roar of the exhaust lends to the excitement of driving the car. The cockpit is comfortable, and controls are easy to reach. The gauges are easily readable. Hitting 6 grand, pegs you in the seat and gets your heat pounding.
Weakness:
The paint scratchs too easily. The stock tires always slip in the rain. When starting off using the manual 6 speed, you have to wind the engine to 3 grand in order to get the car to move and not stall. Low end torque is insufficient, and the 6 grand takeoff point is to high, hopefully a performance chip will cure this. Rear air foil and rear roof support pillars create a nasty blind spot. Due to the blind spots, the side mirrors should have been wider to compensate. The drivers side floor mat creeps up on the left, due to the lack of a mat hook. The sticker price was 24 large, with that price tag I got everything. I highly recommend the car to anyone looking for a sports car in this price range. Lets face it the car is fun to drive, it handles well, and its an eye catcher. When you hit the 6 grand mark on the tac, its a bat out a hell!!!!
