Strength:

Dent resistant body. Longevity of the car. Dependability of the car.
IT DOESN'T BREAK DOWN
The most expensive repair made to the car has been the replacement of the EGR valve. $250.

Weakness:

Limited room for Tall people, I'm 6'4" and feel a bit confined now...Keep in mind when I bought this car 10 yrs ago, I was younger and shorter. it fit me fine then.

I purchased this car new in 1991 with 11 miles on it...

The car currently (8-10-01) has 257,894 miles on it and looks and runs GREAT! ENOUGH SAID!!!!!

I have never experianced the oil comsumption problem that so many complain about. I change my oil every 2000 miles and it's always full everytime.

The car is awesome on fuel, averaging 40mpg's now. The MPG's have actually increased in the last 100,000 miles from 36 to 40.

We recently took the car up to Niagra Falls and spent more on Food during the trip then gas.

Model Reviewed: Saturn SC

Strength:

Solid reliability and durability, fuel efficiency, good dealer service and support, no rust, unique and attractive styling.

Weakness:

My SC2 does go through oil -- about a litre every 2,500 kilometres. The only other obvious weakness is size: the interior is really too small for large or tall people. The SL uses no oil whatever.

This has been an outstanding vehicle. I bought it as a demonstrator in 1993, and I now have over 218,000 kilometres on it. The car has been very reliable. I have had a few minor repairs over the years, such as an alternator at 100,000 kilometres, but nothing major, and the dealer service and support has been excellent. It seems willing to go another 218,000 kilometres! I feel that I have received, and continue to receive, great value for my money. My wife has a 1995 Saturn SL with almost 100,000 kilometres on it, and there have been no problems whatever with it.

I am very pleased with both cars. We will be buying Saturns again when the time comes.

Strength:

color, no rusting due to plastic body

Weakness:

poor design disc brake replaced x 2-with rototors and calipers due to excessive corosion $780.00 service maneger stated it was a poor design, transmission case leak 1 month after warranty expired, high cost of service-most auto repair places say you have to go to saturn, poor pick up -related to finally dicovered alternator problems, wanting to replace entire trunk lid including painting etc for broken latch on trunk cost qouted $840.00 dollars service manager stated no other options-got it repaired by welding it in place at auto body place for only $75.00 overly excessive repairs taking advantage.

I love the teal color and thought it looked sporty. I was impressed with marketing sounded like a great car and a good buy for the money. but very disappointing inthe long run. bad brakes, alternator problem, serpentine belt problems x2,truck latch problems-excessive charge and advantaging taking tried per service department. noisy bumpy, very uncomfortable for long rides. service department found leak in transmission case one month after warranty run out $3,000 dollar replacement charge. poor pick up questioned problem replaced serpentine belt X2 found out 1 year later complete failure alterator out.
