Pretty! That''s where it ended!

Weakness:

Everything! This car was a lemon and so is GILLMAN PONTIAC IN HOUSTON TEXAS.

I can''t say enough about how bad this car, the dealer and Pontiac was to me. I had problems with this car beginning the first week. I had to take the fuse out everytime I got out or the inside light stayed on and ran down my battery. I had 4 brake jobs in 1 yr. and the dealer (GILLMAN) said I rode the brakes too much. PLEASE!!! The A/C leaked water on my feet till they fianlly fixed it. The rear middle brake light kept growing mold in it and was fixed/replaced 3 times. I had 4 alternators replaced. The electric switches made of cheap plastic kept breaking, the A/C put out a mildew smell evertime I turned it on. I could go on and on. In short, this car had over $7000.00 worth of work done to it in the first 2 yrs. I owned it and was in the shop over 8 weeks. Thank God I had the extended warranty but that was always a hassle too. I will NEVER buy a PONTIAC again as long as I live. I finally just got rid of it and bought a DAEWOO-LAGANZA. What a great car it is! American Car Dealers could care less about you. Pontiac is the biggest rip off of them all.

Strength:

The ride is sporty, plenty of aftermarket parts, car is fast for it''s size and price. Corners great. Radio and standard feature are awsome. Made in USA.

Weakness:

car is too sporty for some(rides rough over choppy bumps) has bad track record with some (mostly because of bad matenence).

This car is great. Alot of people complain about problems(espesially with GTP''s) this icar is so sporty people tend to hot rod them. No wonder they fall apart when they get driven so hard and not maintained. 60,000 Miles and no problem. Previously owned a 92 silverado never had a problem 1 alternator and 1 set of brakes 336,000 miles. Show what care will do for an american car.

Comfortable,smooth ride.

Weakness:

Brakes-replaced twice. Very expensive. Paid over $1000.00 each time. Alternator replaced. Engine block cracked at 65000 miles. The list continues.

This car has been a complete money pit since the time it was purchased.

Strength:

HUD--Very nice tons of POWER!! looks sporty for a 4-door family car

Weakness:

car should have lasted longer than 2 years

I thought it was a great car until about 3 weeks ago, when it died on me. The dealership said it was a bad fuel pump resistor, so they replaced it. And it''s now in the shop again for the 3rd time. Something with the fuel pump keeps blowing a fuse, so the car can''t get any gas and it dies. Luckily it''s still under warranty, but I''m ready to trade it in before the warranty runs out. I also read other reviews with the same problem. My car has 25,000 miles on it, and one of the other reviews had the same problem at about 24,000 miles. You would think that the car would be able to last longer than that. I''m very disappointed in the car and will probably never buy another Pontiac or new car again

Model Reviewed: pontiac grand prix se 3.4 dohc

Strength:

The acceleration, the look, the equipment, the sound (dual exaust), the reliability of the engin

Weakness:

The timing belt, the pulleys, no room to work under the hood the engin is too big, for example the alternator is under and behind the engin

the acceleration is great and its one of the fastest sedan on the market. The 3.4 is really fun to drive. The engin is reliable but the repairs are costly. First, the timing belt doesn''t last very long and same thing for the pulleys. Be sure that your timing belt is replaced before 80 000 km. Secondly, buy a book concerning the 3.4 liter engin to know your car better. Its funny because when you go to the garage with a 3.4 they just don''t know that engin very well. A guy told me that my timing chain was finished but the 3.4 has a timing belt so go back to school man. It was just a pulley.

Strength:

When the car is new and running....... Power-Get the GTP!!, HUD(Can''t live without it now),Good Looking Car Nice to Drive

Weakness:

Reliabilty. Buy the extended warranty!!!(Even though you should not have to if it were a quality built car!!!!!!) Passenger Heated seat not available. Passenger seat not electric. No Heated mirrors. Must use premium gasoline at 88cents a liter or more.

I purchased this car as my first new car after many used vehicles.I was originally very happy with the car. Very powerfull and exciting to drive. It turned heads with the Black paint and nice rims. Then as soon as the original factory warranty expired at 60,000km''s is when things fell apart...... 63,000km''s - Right front wheel bearing went.Cost was $1287.00 for repair. 69,000km''s - Heater fan motor malfunctioned. Cost $302 88,000km''s - Oxygen sensor malfunctioned. Cost $407 Just as everyone says, North American cars are not quality built.I have always bought North American and cursed anyone who bought anything else. But I have now been screwed enough and will never buy another North American car. This is to bad because I don''t even know what other car I would buy because I have never even looked at a Honda or Toyota. If they don''t improve soon, they are going to loose more people like me.

Strength:

excellent motor, doesn''t want to stop going. great on gas as well as speed.

Weakness:

no performance parts readily available. (not that i have found anyway)

I love my grand prix. of course all cars have their normal wear and break this or that, but she still runs like a champ 207,000 miles later! i change the oil religiously, and she keeps on going. even with the way i drive, fast. the paint is excellent, the stereo is aftermarket, my only real problem is finding performance parts. i also get about 450 miles on a fill-up, which i think is pretty good for a sports car with the number of miles on it.
