Strength:

The ride is fabulous, lots of room, easy access, the back seats remove quickly and easily, the stereo system is great, and it's a wonderful on-the-go vehicle.

Weakness:

I'm not really impressed with the gas mileage and it's hard for me to keep the back window clean.

I LOVE IT. Mine is bright yellow and I NEVER lose it on the parking lot. It drives better than anything I've ever owned and I LOVE the room. It rides extremely well and I don't get cramped on long trips. We purchased the tent but haven't had a chance to use it. Everybody at my school makes fun of my Aztec until they ride in it and then are amazed at the ride and comfort. There are now TWO of us that own Aztecs.

Strength:

Handles great, lots of room, great deal for the money. Rated high for safety.

Weakness:

Rear view window vision is hard to get used to.

Looking for a awd vehicle, my wife and I were ready to sign for a Vibe. We found a fully loaded Aztek with all the options we wanted at 22800. We test drove the vehicle and fell in love with it. It handled great, was quiet and offered the best deal for the money. We added the extended warranty, camping package, the dvd setup and we are pretty well equiped at a price that was unbelievable when compared to other models.

Roomy interior. Comfortable seating.

Weakness:

See above!!!!!

I absolutely hated this car when I first saw it on the lot. Oh, if only I had stuck to my first impression!! I drove it and was sucked in by all the gadgets and the roomy interior. I had no problems out of the vehicle until right after 12,000 miles. All of a sudden, this horrible loud grinding noise was coming from the rear end everytime I would touch the brakes. I took to the dealership immediately, and apparently they are all completely deaf, becuase no one heard a thing!! Well, 7 trips, a completely new rear end and a small settlement from GM later, I have no more noises in the rear. THEY HAVE ALL MOVED TO THE FRONT!!!! I pulled into my driveway last night and put the car in park and the noise was so loud it vibrated my feet and the entire front floorboard for at least 10 seconds. I have so far been unable to duplicate that problem, and since the dealership will probably not "hear" it either, I will just wait and see if it falls apart.

Strength:

The only strenth I can see is that the car has alot of room but so do other vehicles and they don't have any problems.

Weakness:

Too many to list-rear hatch -brakes system-seat belts-loud noise that everyone in the neighborhood can hear(Of course I didn't know that until one day I was driving down the street with my windows rolled up-when I stopped and got out a neighbor asked what that loud noise wa coming from my car)-car rocks something terrible when you pull into a drive way which they claimed to have fixed but I can't tell. The list goes on

This car has been nothing but trouble. There has been this horrible loud noise coming from the front end of the car. A noise that some mechanics at the dealership claim they can't hear or some say they can but they don't know what's causing it. They just basically told me to take it home. It have been back in for service about 6 times for several repairs and of course they still can't seem to figure out what's causing the loud noise. the rear hatch gets stuck and my seat belts keep getting stuck-they won't come out sometimes. Once they claimed to have fixed them but they still didn't work and then they replaced them but they still get stuck. After two years the ac isn't working properly. The gmc complaint line is no help . they just side with the dealer and say "well if they can't fix it then what do you want us to do". Iv'e been so frustrated with this car. Maybe I just bought a lemon but what bothers me the most is that gm is not willing to help and/or stand by thier product. I guess I'm stuck with this car until my lease ends which is another year. My advice to anyone who is considering a pontiac aztec-well I wouldn't recommend it but if you are a gambler then go ahead you might get lucky and come up with a car with no problems.

Strength:

Room and handling and a work horse if needed. Just ask people who own Pontiac. I did....9 of ten extremely happy.

Weakness:

A little heavy on handling. The rear view from the square window takes some getting used too.

All-in-all it has been a descent vehicle. New off the lot, so there were minor issues-lock alarm not working hatch squeaked. etc. It rides exceptional for a large vehicle (and it is heavy) You either like the looks or don't. The versatility of the rear seats being easily removable and plenty of storage room gives it an "A". Previous minivans were way to awkward for my wife to remove seating, these are light and easy. A little heavy on gas, but you pay for the room. Just front wheel drive-Tires that came with it are just OK in (Vt.) winter. Need something more aggressive for snow. We beat this vehicle-dirt roads to and from work-tow and move people. I'll have to give it an 4.8 over all. For others who have had problems-Each dealer sells thousands-bound to be a bad one every now and then-It's up to the service of the dealership. I saved $$$ without multi-options(tent?). With the 2gs- we bought a Pop-up.

Strength:

Took it to Brekenridge in a driving snow storm, it handled great. The stereo system is remarkable.

Weakness:

Gas mileage is a bit lacking. The fact that this is an American built car is still unnerving for me. Of coarse I've never owned one before so that fact carries little weight. Like the other reviews stated, it has the looks that only a mother could love. I found out later that the engine is a V-6 with the old "push rod and cam followers" system. I am not used to this and thought this technology was out a long time ago. Not sure what problems it will pose. We'll see after several more months.

First American car purchased. Previously a repeat Hyundai owner due to its mechanical reliability. So far I am very impressed. Bought the basic package car; front wheel drive, 8 speaker sound system, controls on the wheel, etc. The Ride is smooth, quiet and roomy. I especially like how the back seats recline and can be flipped up for more room or even taken. The stereo system is out of this world. Purchased the car in Chicago and drove it to Colorado the same day. The wife and I were fighting over who would drive next after a re-fuel.

Excellent, smooth ride. Spacious interior. Luggage space is great. Handles great on highway. Quiet inside, shocks absorb bumps well. Fun to drive, and the looks you get from others... Just test drive one and you will be amazed with the feel.

Weakness:

A couple of blind spots to note.

I bought the Aztec Yellow 1SA model. I have had it for 1 week and find it great so far. Wish I had the tent package. Anyone want to sell theirs??? E-mail me at "milehiclub@rogers.com" I had a Montana before this.

Strength:

very spacios lots of cargo space handles like a dream.

Weakness:

rear spoiler in rear view mirror

I was very reluctant to buy an aztec because of its old looking exterior. I acually wanted to buy a chevy trail blazer but the trail blazer was far more expensive and had much less interior space. My husband talked me into test driving the aztec, and to my surprise, I LOVED IT. still do today and the looks of it sort of grew on me. At least now I have no problem finding my car in a parking lot. My last car was a buick century, try finding that in a parking lot at the mall when everyone has one. But mainly what I have to say is that if the aztec is such a joke to everyone then why has almost every car company come out with a similar competitor ie: buick rendezvous. I have also seen lexus and mercades that look similar. all in all I love my aztec. The only thing I can complain about is the rear spoiler obstructing my view in the rear view mirror other then that its a great family car for my family of five and we all have plenty of room.

Strength:

- Versatrak for better fuel efficency - Pioneer Stereo System - Seat Covers - Spacious - Package addons (Tent, air mattress etc.) - Great Handling - Perfect college student vehicle or small family car.

Weakness:

- No indication when AWD has kicked in. - Could use a larger engine. - Occasionally the trunk sticks in extreme cold weather. - Not very good with extreme off roading.

This car is amazing. I have to admit, I think its different looks are somewhat appealing. I'm sure that in today's society if the car were made by BMW or Mercedes people wouldn't make such a stink about how it looks. I have driven this car hard for well over a year. I participate in a lot of activities such as rowing, rock climbing, wilderness survival and camping. This vehicle is very versatile and probably is one of the better handling 'SEVs' on the market. Being a college student and living in the snow inundated Buffalo, I can say that this car has many advantages in the winter especially if you opt for the Verstrak package. Both my parents drive fuel guzzling cars, and while the Aztec isn't a super efficient car, it provides a happy medium for any large-vehicle owner. The car is spacious and has a great base stereo system with pioneer speakers. Like to party or rave, this car is for you!
