Strength:
Good in traffic, decent stereo system, heat/ac is good.
Weakness:
The ticking sound from the wheel, and the squeaky breaks (even when brand new). So far, this car has been decent. My car has been rear ended, and nothing dented or went wrong mechanically. Menuevers good it traffic. The Neon is an ideal city car. It seems like the Neons before 1998 got real bad ratings, and 1998-2002 got better ratings. The stylish look (it suckered me!)
Weakness:
Dumb question I have had nothing but problems with my Plymouth Neon. I've replaced the engine once and the Head Gasket twice. This car is very expensive to maintain. Not to mention problems with leaky window seals; the check engine light; hesitation; noises in the tire wells; air conditioning; float, and many others. I absolutly would never buy another Plymouth product. I agree that they should all be recalled! Similar Products Used: Plymouth Acclaim...Another nightmare! |

Pontiac Sunbird LE
Strength:
Really good factory stereo, even if it is just radio. A/c is my best friend. Really reliable.
Weakness:
If you leave the rear defrost on too long, a really irritating buzz noise happens. would not go more than 80 unless you have a tow truck waiting on you and if you have the a/c on, don't floor it. for some reason something squeals. This was my first real car. I had an 81 AMC Spirit (i love that car) and though it had more pep (6 cylinders) my four cylinders in my sunbird just doesn't give the same happy feeling. i've been driving for 6 months and put 13000 miles on this car. the only thing ever went wrong was the alternator. the a/c is really really good. kinda sluggish for speed demons like me though. now trading it in for a newer neon. hope it's not a mistake. it now has 147000 miles and still going strong. Similar Products Used: 1981 AMC Spirit. My little blue monster. I loved this car b'cuz the pep, but my pontiac is a lot nicer. |

Plymouth Neon Highline Coupe
Strength:
Reliable, fun, quick, comfortable, and worth every dollar.
Weakness:
She doesnt know when to quit, frequent flat tires (dirtroads, driving too fast, driving until tires are bald) I have the 2.0 dohc and its the best car I ever had. I have totally abused it and no matter what I do, it just wont stop. I bought it with 25,000 miles and I have put over 65,000 miles of the worst kind of driving conditions possible (120 degree heat, high speeds for 4 hours at a time, dirt roads, muddy roads, chemical mud, not keeping up with maintenance to save my life, etc. ) I lost my front bumper, big dent in right rear panel, Shattered first windshield and cracked 2nd, crack in rear bumber, driver door hinge is bent causing contact between front left panel and door. I hated neons until I bought one. This car is my friend and I am going to keep her until every mile she has is driven. Similar Products Used: 00'honda civic was also great, 89'camry not so good. |

yeah, ok!
Weakness:
Air Conditioning, Speakers, Oh wait, I know, the whole car! What a piece of crap car. If you would like an air conditioned car or even a reliable car at that, I would not recommend it. After I read all of these reviews I was happy to see I wasn't the only person experiencing these problems, but it angers me to no end that the Chrysler-Dodge-Plymouth company did nothing to help the poor people out there that bought these cars! I still don't understand not recalling the cars, it makes no sense. I would not recommend this car to anyone, nor will I ever purchase a car by this company ever again. |

Weakness:
Never ran. I loved my car when I bought it.I bought it brand new for 16,000.And I just traded it in (thank god) The joy of a new car was short lived with this thing.I had one problem after another. One day while driving my young daughter home my master cylinder went out at 12,000 miles.Right after that my head gasket needed replaced.I also had alot of small problems too. This was all well below 20,000 miles.I tried to take very good care of this car.I had the neon in the shop 23 times in 3 years. The thing I feel bad about is the fact that this car is sitting at a lot right now waiting for the next sucker.Don't let it be you!!Do your homework and don't buy a neon. Similar Products Used: Many plymouth/dodge products over the years.no problems like these. |

Strength:
Good get up and go when at a complete stop, good handling in turns. Gas milage is ok I spose.
Weakness:
Where do I begin? The skrangly horn, poor paint job, Sh*ty wiring, stalls alot, door panels come off easily. And the doors are sealed poorly, don't drive over 25 on the interstate unless you want to hear alot of whistling and un due noise. Remember when the Neon's debuted? How their logo was "Hi." ? Yeah, it should have been "Hi Bills! Goodbye Money!!" I've had my Neon 7 months, bought it used and it's been a headache ever since. As of right now I have to replace the fuel injector (the car stalls @ red lights ALL THE TIME!)and the housing for my right fog light. There's a knocking noise in the back I CANNOT get rid of, I've had the trunk latch replaced due to faulty wiring in the trunk light that drained my battery even without a lightbulb in it. The dome light doesn't light when you open the passenger door, and the paint job sucks. But hey, if you have money to throw around, by all means, buy this car. I've been told that Neon's are notorious for electronics and have been known to catch fire due to faulty wiring. For years I wanted one, and once I became tired of my '87 Nova "(*sigh*)...I miss that car, wish I never would have sold her...." I bought one used for $5500, so far I've had a $1200 paint job done, ,a new battery, new trunk latch, new struts, and a new sunroof put in (the dealer agreed to pay for that if I bought the car). It's very crappy car, DONT BUY IT!!! |

Everything! Do not purchase this vehicle!! We have had so many problems with it! The door panel always comes undone and we have to get in from the driver side and push it back so that we could open the door, we had hot hair coming from the vents, when the air is supposed to be on, and there are many more! Please don''t buy this car!! |
