Strength:

-Great car for tailgating
-Comfortable
-Cheap parts

Weakness:

Not enough power
Good for highway cruising

I had fun hitting things like garbage cans with the car and all of the beer tailgating get togethers. It has given me problems such as having to buy a new water pump and some minor carb problems. The car did have a rebuilt engine with about 50k on it. But the overall car had about 160k on it. It got me from point a to b.

Very Comfie. If babied enough the engine WILL produce. Great highway traveling. Somewhat sporty looking.

Weakness:

BIG OL' PIG ON GAS. everything in the hood will break... especially the stuff you can't get at very easily. door handles are contermperious. actually everything NOT on within view from the outside of the car WILL break... BIGEST WEAKNESS...the trannie. it's very weak and requires a lot care.

My driverside door handle broke within the first 2 months of my purchase. And i've been informed that it's gonna cost a lot to fix. don't ever disconnect the battery terminals unless you really have to...trust me - After you start it up the ECM has reset and WOOH. it can't even hold and idle. But though all that i've seen some good from it. It has a lot of punch to it.... with a little bit of do it your self mods to the engine, and a nice set of tires (i have the regatta 2's)

Accelaration A Little Slow When Going

Overall, this is a great car. I mean by looking through these reviews, some people enjoy it, and some people might think it's for Old or stupid people. Well, I must be old (yeah right) and I must be stupid. Because this is a great car. Even though there is a little bit flaws, it's still great.

Strength:

Good engine, comfortable seats, decent speakers, many extra comfort options

Weakness:

Bad MPG,many recalls, power options have stopped working, coolant line broke.

I think that this is a decent car. It has given me trouble in the electronic area, howver my dashboard has given me no problems. All of the extra destination and MPG meters still work, and the engine and transmission are rock solid. However there have been many recalls and annoyences with noises in the brakes.

Strength:

Nice Look, Little Rust, 153,000 miles and still running strong.

Weakness:

Quad 4 Tech engine, Slow 0-60 although 0-40 is good,

Best car I have ever owned since I got my license. Bought at 147,000 miles and have drove it to 153,000 without a major or even minor mechanical repair. If I had a choice between a new car or a fully reconditioned engine and interior for my car, I'd take my car. Great for a first car. Don't mess with the Ciera!!!

Strength:

Roomy, Large Trunk, Size

Weakness:

)Bought with 125,000. had heard GM 3.1 was a bullet proof engine, so to speak) Basically everything else. It was a very good car up to 140K....now it is having problems left and right. Two weeks ago I had to have the engine taken apart and have the heads inspected due to water being in the oil. Water got in the oil because it overheated and caused the heads to mess up (Temp Gauge was messed up). Before this happened, the shifter wouldn't tell the car it was in park, forcing the key switch to malfunction. I had to have the inside of the shifter cleaned and had to purchase a new key switch. The new key switch had to have one of those computer chip keys. The key alone was $25. Now, it is having problems again. The transmission will not shift when passing at high speeds or going up steep hills. I have to force it to make a shift by pressing the accelerator very hard. My A/C has quit, too. I will need to have it serviced or roast this summer. One more of the many problems,it refused to start on me 3 times because of a bad battery and bad battery cables. Left me sranded at a gas station, a mall, and the grocery store.

DO NOT BUY DOMESTIC!! Stay away from any domestic vehicle. American cars are crap. I have learned an important lesson. The reason Taurus, Malibu, Stratus, Cutlass, etc. are so cheap when they are only 1 year old is because no one will buy them and because of their reputation. Accord, Maxima, and Camry are expensive for years after they've been made because of their quality. Its crazy that a small, cheap Sentra can outlast a Chevy Blazer and Olds Cutlass. The Sentra was much cheaper than the Cutlass. But it provided me years of trouble-free driving.

LOOK FOR: ANY JAPANESE....HONDA, TOYOTA, NISSAN, ACURA, INFINIT, AND LEXUS. EVEN CONSIDER GERMAN.
AVOID: ANY AMERICAN MADE JUNKER.

TOO BAD 0 STARS ISN'T AN OPTION

Similar Products Used:

Honda Accord and Nissan Sentra: I will never buy an American car again. My old Honda had 161,000 and ran like a new car. Perfect inside and out. The sentra had 120,000 and was also perfect. Imports are a cut above the terrible garbage Detroit sends out.
Chevy Blazer, Dodge Neon: Both of these vehicles were crap. However, the Neon was better than the Blazer, another GM Junker.

Strength:

No rust and a very sporty looking. The interior is in mint condition. The dash is also very easy to read. Best of all the Engine is very powerful for the automobile.

Weakness:

The 3.4 DOHC engine has some minor leaks but does not smoke. I wish the car had a moon roof or sunroof what ever you want to call it. The car I own does not have a remote trunk release. Also at 76000 miles the A/C has stopped working.

I have 2 oldsmobiles a 2000 bravada and the 93 cutlass sL. Both run very well and look I think the best out of most of the GM lines of cars.

Similar Products Used:

95 Ford Thunderbird. What a piece of junk!!! From day one the transmission did not shift correctly. The engine was the 4.6L and was constantly running terrible. The car at 44000 miles dropped the transmission on the highway. Ford could never get it to run right. The Engine ran better on 7 Cylinders than it did on 8.

Strength:

3.4L V6 DOHC, Power Everything, Leather, Looks very nice, Great Acceleration in all gears. When I kicked it, it dropped to the lowest possible gear, and stayed there until the red line--impressive. Handles very well, very stable, all the way up to 115. Very powerful....very very few problems.

Weakness:

The 3.4L leaked quite a bit of oil, but I got this car after 6 years old and 135K Miles on it, what can you expect? The car had an odd smell to it, not oil (which it did occasionally), but thats just the car. Dash could have been redesigned....other than that I loved it

I Loved the car for the time that I had it. I bought the car one night at a car auction, brought it home, and stared at it. It had all the options, 3.4L engine, which I heard was very expensive to maintain, and to stay away from it, but I was hard-headed, and it paid off. I never had a problem with the car, except for an oil leak. It was a bad leak, but the car had 136K on it. The car would push you into the seat all the way up to 90-95 MPH. It was a very quick car, especially for its size. It handled curves very well, it didn't have any boat-motion to it.

Unfortunately I slid off an icy road one day and totaled it...hit a telephone pole. I paid 3300 for it, and the insurance gave me 4600 for it, so I didnt make out too bad.

I would reccomend this car to anyone who wants a dependable, economical, practical, sturdy, FAST car. I dont know so much about the 3.4L though, mine would have caosted alot of money to rebuild....so you might look for a 3.1L

The Cutlass Front Wheel V6 would smoke my TBird RWD V8. Tbird is a nice car, but my Cutlass would beat it, except top end...once up past 100 the V6 is towards the end of it's rope.
