Engine with punch, nice interior features, roomy, cheap
Weakness:
suspension, brakes, tires I've had the car for 6 months. It's spent more time in the shop than its been driven. After only three months, it standed my wife and I on the side of the road. I had to have the alternator and the rotors replaced, basicly the whole underside suspension replace, needs new tires, etc. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. Its more headache than its worth. Buy an Accord or Camry. Similar Products Used: Ford Taurus |

Strength:
good roadholding, smooth ride as far as the speedometer reaches, no mechanical troubles after 225E3 km's, large volume passenger & trunk capacity, excellent design & construction
Weakness:
I left the windows open when it rained and the moisture decommissioned the power locks. zat is it The olds, being my first car has treated me better then I have treated it. After only accumulating 7000kms on my pre-owned car I crashed it into a tree and other miscellanious ditch debris. Luckily, I survived with only minor cuts and bruses. Although the car was a write off it still ran which was very remarkable. On a lighter note, the car never left me stranded, had reasonable gas milage, was too much fun to drive and was a bargin $4500.00. In summation if you havlow budget, yet your in the relentless pursuit of perfection the 4dr sl is worth considering for your next transporter. Similar Products Used: buick century, ford taurus |

Strength:
Power is available when needed. Lots of "creature comforts," somewhat sporty. Very comfortable. Lots of available options.
Weakness:
3.4L engine is extreemly difficult to service. Guzzles gas. Sluggish in cold weather. Engine sounds like it came from a sports car, it's loud for a sedan. Fairly good car to own. Good first car. Sporty for a sedan. If your looking for a sensible car to get from point A to point B with comfort, this is a good one to do it in. If you want to impress all your friends with performance, not a good choice. |

Lots of Gadgets. AC, CD, cassette, pwr doors, pwr windows, leather (cheap), Keyless entry. Cost is down for the amenities.
Weakness:
Power steering went out twice on my wife in rush hour traffic in the first 6,000 miles of use. Battery had major corrosive problem melted the terminal. Oldsmobile customer care is rude. Dealerships don't care after the car is sold. The worst car I have ever owned. The only good thing about this car is the toys. I will never buy another GM product again. I am so glad I finally got rid of it. If you buy one I hope you get better service out of it than I did. Similar Products Used: Any car is better. I would rather buy a Geo. |

Strength:
The best qualities of this old piece of metal, and vinyl is the non tackiness look. Simple classic styling, big and comfy. 307 5.0L is great on gas, reliable and has good tourque. + the sleeper possibilities make the 80's RWD cutlasses not bad cars at all. Dont listen to what these guys tell you, if you have a RWD 80's cutlass with the V8 that is a piece of junk theres only 2 reason why, 1.An idiot owned it(pertaining of, grandma, Redneck that beat it up horribly without maintainence, daily driver in fargo dakota in the middle of winter) 2.there was a slip up when it was built.
Weakness:
90% of these cars you see look like absoulute ass on wheels. But if you get one that grandpa took care of, drop $7,000 on it(403 olds small block, 3.73 gears, $2,000 suspension), it can compete with vetts and vipers on the strip. Overall my 87 cutlass is a quality, reliable, fun to drive car for the money. Easy to maintain, easy to upgrade. Similar Products Used: 1979 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme V6 231 |

Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera S
Strength:
everything about the car. The body is good looking and the interior, though dated, is conservative and easy to use.
Weakness:
The only problem I have ever had is the accelerator pedal likes to stick at around 35-40 mph. I have to put more pressure on it. Getting that fixed. Love the car. I had a 1992 Ford Tempo GL, and it was a good car, but the Ciera is so much better in any way. Even though the car looks like a granny car, it is not. The car is reliable, good on gas, and a comfortable, practical piece of transportation. Get comments on it all the time with the good paint and body condition. The car has hints of elegance in the design. Similar Products Used: 1992 Ford Tempo GL Sport Coupe. Great car, but i wanted something newer for college transportation. |

The 307 engine never breaks down. Very reliable and comfortable. Trunk Space. Great for systems. I put some top of the line subs(4 Rockford Fosgate Power HX2s,with 600watts RMS going to eat sub) in ths car and it doesn't even rattle. A very well built car. I get at least 3 compliments a week. I'm not even kidding. I also recently got the car praised with 45,000 miles on it and they said the would give me a $8000 trade-in value, or buy it for $6900. It is a real investment if you find a nice one like this. In 4 years this car will be a collectors car.
Weakness:
Weak transmission. I had to get the tranny rebuilt 1 month after i bought it. I know it was because it was sitting so long because anyone who knows anything about cars knows that it is worse for the car to sit than in it to drive it. I knew it had been sitting for a while because when I took apart the tranny. The band which grips the drum was all cracked up because only some of it was in the tranny fluid. Bands don't just crack up and fall apart. They wear down. So this isn't really a weakness to me. I bought this car in Febuary after I totalled my first car. It is a Black 1985 Cutlass Supreme Brougham Coupe. I paid $5250 for it at a nearby dealership. This car had absolutely no dents, scratches or rust spots. It was in perfect shape. The interior is incredibly comfortable and was like brand new. The car only had 39,000 miles on it when I bought it. I think the car came from down south and was owned by a grampa because this thing was in perfect condition. It was in such mint condition i could have swore it just rolled of the assembly line. It also looked as if it had brand new paint on it. Similar Products Used: 1985 Chrysler 5th Avenue, |

Reliable, looks good, all power, digital dash(still works), comfortable interior, nice ride, and quiet engine
Weakness:
easy to steal this is a really nice car, it looks and runs good. I have had minor problems, like the gas gauge (it's digital) lies a bit, and the fasten seatbelts light comes on whenever it feels like it, but it is overall a good car. I have had to do mior repairs such as a new starter and waterpump, etc. but it wasn't so bad. the parts for the car are fairly inexpensive, the biggest problem is putting them on (it has a sideways 6)> I will say this is one of the nicest cars I have had, most people mistake it for a newer model because of it's condition and all the options. The only vehicle that I have had that I liked more is my 71 Chevy pickup, but then again, who wouldn't prefer that. Similar Products Used: 85 buick Century; well the buick had a 4 cyl so you can imagine the differande in power. 307 v8 is a nice amount of power for this car. It has exccelent accel. and is a fast car. overall, this car is very nice, and this car never fails to start, and is very sporty looking, and has a great interior, and grill on it.
Weakness:
some rust undrneath body, but is common for all cutlass supremes that are not from down south, nothing about this car is bad, only one mnior anti-freeze laek but was fixed, and has had no problems sense. This is a great car! Dont listen to ne one who thinks these arent, they dont know what they are talkin about. I bought this for my first car, and it is great, its a great over all car, had some leaks, but i got them fixed, all of these cars made are awesome! the 80's RWD cutlass are awesome!
