Model Reviewed: Lancer Oz-rally edition

Strength:

Gas mileage Looks killer Cornering is killer Comfortable Good factory sound Super Smooth ride

Weakness:

- spoiler gets in way of rear view (not enough to block anything important out) - pickup a tad delayed

I just recently purchased my lancer oz ralley edition and found this site to be helpful in my search for cars so i thought i'd give a little back. I set out to get a es bgut went with the oz. only differences are the sport gauges, brushed aluminum trim, spoiler and rims. i bought it with 21000 miles on it and its run great so far. I'm 6'1 so i was kinda worried about headroom and it has plenty, also plenty of room in the backseats, It basically drives like a brand new civic, but faster and corners excellent, i have yet to slide without actually trying. Very smooth ride, and very quiet interior.

Strength:

good trani, good acceleration, smooth on highway, very good sound system

Weakness:

Trunk is too light, too thin, should've put shocks on them

This car's been great so far, i was deciding between the lancer, civic, or protege, but obviously i bought the Lancer. I liked the Lancer more, coz it was bigger on the inside and i liked the interior design and fabric a lot more than competitors. The Engine is powerful enough for most peoples needs and cruzes on the highway very comfortably. The transmission is VERY smooth and shifts at the perfect times without hesitation. The ride is very smooth, 4 wheel independant suspension, Overall i like my new Lancer, no complaints thus far.

Strength:

Good response, nimble car. Nice interior - the seats are a handsome cloth not cheap looking like some smaller cars. Crisp, powerful sound system came standard with CD. Nice looks and paint job.

Weakness:

I feel that I'm getting low gas mileage for such a small car. I don't have an exact number, but like 18 mpg. The armrest/compartment in between the two front seats is awkwardly set back. Rear seat doesn't fold down for extended trunk space.

I bought a new Lancer about five months ago, and overall it has been a good car. Price was a factor for me, and the Mitsubishi dealer was more flexible with the price than the Honda or Toyota dealers I talked to . The car runs nicely and I like the interior layout. It is big enough for me, but is a relatively small car, so some might want something bigger. I have had no problems thus far, as the car seems to have been put together well. The controls are easy to understand, and I like the delay feature on the electric windows so that you can turn off the engine and still roll them up.
