Galant
Strength:
Decent Power, Luxurious interior, Tons of space and sporty look.
Weakness:
Unreliable, Poor quality of "genuine" Mitsubishi parts, and 5sp not offered on any model better than the "S" which is offered with NO features. Great looking car inside and out. I had a sunroof and leather interior, rare on Galant "S". I loved how this car handled and drove overall, but it shook on the highway at speeds over 65 and didn't hug the road at those speeds either! My Galant saw way too many visits to the shop...it ate oil like crazy, the dealership could't find the problem, they ended up replacing the short block engine which then ceased after 2,500 miles, they repaced it again and 30,000 miles later the timing belt went and f***ed up the upper engine. This is not to mention all the little things that repeatedly broke (i.e. interior and exterior lights, door swithches, heat shield, and door locks). The leather seats started to fade and crack when the car was only 3 years old, and the exterior started to rust then too... thats when I bought it, that should have been a sign that the car was a POS, I purchased it anyway, it was my first car and I liked how it looked. I bought a new Jetta Wolfsburg and I love it, I'm trying to get rid of my non-functional Galant!!! Similar Products Used: 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg |

Glant LS V6
Strength:
Power, Safety, Comfort, Nice look
Weakness:
None For me making dessision which car to buy took a long time. The final dessision was about to make a choice between Honda Accord and Mitsubishi Galant. I'm glad that I've made a right dessision buying Galant. Strong and comfortable car with a nice look. Forget about old models (released 6-7 years ago), which really had problems with engine and transmission. Now they are just fine. Mitsubishi has made a great job designing fancy and highly reliable car. If you don't trust me (I'm owning this car just for 3 months), read professional reviews on the Internet. It helped me a lot and it might help you. Similar Products Used: Honda Accord. Accord's transmission isn't so smooth as Galant's one |

Strength:
This is a beautiful car. The price was Great , the ride is Smooth.
Weakness:
Do not buy this car NEW!!! Mitsubishi loves to cut corners, so be aware!!! For the money you can't go wrong... but then I again I got a great deal I payed $14000 out the door. That Price included alloy wheels, a spoiler and a 30000 warranty, Thank GOD. Reviewing everyone elses comments kinda concerns me. I haven't really had to many problems myself. I can however relate to the brake problems with the front and back brakes ( you would think mitsubishi would fix it ). I've been lucky and blessed I haven't had any major problems. I have notice the poor get-up out of the blocks, but once you get going, the car performs well. I've also noticed that this car likes to be driven, the more you drive it the better it performs. If your "Driving Miss Daisy" it's going to pick up like a Hyundai. Similar Products Used: Honda Accord, Nissan Maxima |

GTZ
Strength:
speed, quickness of the red light, comfort, ride and Infinity 210 watt sound system.
Weakness:
Headlights to brown (PIAA is great), excussive body roll, battery spilled acid in engine compartment, which will all e be replaced under warranty. I WILL get my money back for the purchase of my battery. I went from a 1996 Eclipse RS to a 2001 GTZ. I enjoyed the ride of the car so far but feel that that car is too bounce and has way to much body roll on cornering for a GTZ, maybe for a ES or LS but more focus on a sporter suspension should have been taken into consideration. This means that a strut tower brace is needed to reduce the body roll of the car when turning corners at moderate speeds. I also notice sway bars for front or rear or anti-roll bars either. Any of these would lessen body roll. It appears to me that Mitsubisihi cut corner by taking the LS label and replacing it with a GTZ label. I see no difference in ride quality or anything else besides rims that makes the GTZ different from the LS. They are the same price. Similar Products Used: Honda v6 but not as peppy. Sound system sucks a phat one. You turn the noble and after a certain point you reached your max, with distoration. However, the headlights are very bright. |

Galant ES V6
Strength:
Luxury car style w/out the $$$$. Excellent Stereo (210 watts stock!!). very powerful, demands attention. sunroof & woodgrain for loww$$, comfy seats, huge trunk. Sporty yet Comfy. 4-door for a younger guy. Guy with kids' alternative to the Eclipse.
Weakness:
Interior colors are too light. Not many aftermarkets parts yet. tire rating is only H I had 2 Pontiac Grand Ams(97 & 99) and had nothing but trouble so I figured that this was a testimony of American cars so I opted for a rice burner this time. This was the car I liked sinced its debut (bodystyle) in 99 but I was in a lease on the Pontiac so I couldn't get it. After my lease ended I test drove one and instantly fell in love. I also tred a Camry, Accord, Lexus IS 300, and two different Jeeps ( just 4 kix). I must say that the Galant had the best looks (BMW WANNABE), value and comfort. I test drove an LS but purchased a Sherwood Green ES V6 off the showroom. I added the GTZ spoiler and now I have a more comfortable and cheaper GTZ and I don't burn my ass when sitting in the hot seats (NO LEATHER). Great Value, Great Looks and a great ride make it a winner. Side Airbags SAFETY! Similar Products Used: Camry- feels like a boat, too bulky, too pricey, old folks car |

GREAT STYLING, VERY QUIET RIDE, SMOOTH HANDELING,
Weakness:
INTIRIOR FABRIC COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER AND MABY A LITTLE MORE LEG ROOM IN THE BACK BUT OTHERWISE IT'S GREAT SO FAR THE CAR RUNS GREAT, VERY QUIET I SHOULD ADD. I HAVE NO RATTLES LIKE SOME PEOPLE HAVE BUT THEN AGAIN I JUST MIGHT BE LUCKY. I GOT THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE RATINGS AND WHAT YOU GET FOR YOUR HARD EARNED CASH. Galant
Strength:
Everything seems very solid, no rattling at all inside the car, and it's 14 years old + 280.000km on the odometer. All the electric stuff works great, even the electric sunroof.
Weakness:
You can't get a 1987 model with an a/c ! A very good nice looking car, for being so old. I've had the car for 14 years and in that time the car has never ever stopped. Changed the clutch at 245.000km. The only time it has been to the repair shops is for normal service and changed the muffler & brakes. Similar Products Used: A lot of cars. I have yet to sit in a car that has better seats than the Galant. |

Strength:
Has that sporty look especially with alloys rims and tinted windows. Great pick-up speed. Reliable. Speakers sound good. Lots on trunk space - back seat fold down for added space. Runs good with 98,000 miles. Very few problems.
Weakness:
Not much leg room in the back when the front seats are all the way back. Brakes squeal way too often. Had to change the water pump. Muffler rattles - something must be loose. Fog lights blow out to often. Gas light and gauge is misleading when car is turned on. Needs a paint touch-up in a few spots. My first car!! Always loved Galants since my brother had one in 1994 (same model as mine). Like the grill on the 97 models better. Like the body on the new models. If I had to buy another car would buy another galant. Maybe the new ones. Similar Products Used: None |

Galant LS
Strength:
Low center of gravity. Handles well. Engine runs strong with 113K miles on it. Buy this car, if you want everything to go wrong after 90K miles, and you want Mitsubishi to think that it is OK to send their garbage to the US year after year, without repercussions.
Weakness:
biggest POS I've ever owned. The paint faded a couple of months after I bought it. The water pump also blew on me. I had to pay $700.00 to get the AC pump fixed. The belts sqeale like a school girl when I first start it up. The electric windows do not work in the front. It was a nice looking car when I first purchased it. I bought it in 1999, with 60K miles on it. Similar Products Used: Honda, Isuzu, Acura. They all kick ass on Mitsubishi. Do not buy this car. Mitsubishi needs to hire some new engineers. |
