Strength:
The car accelerates and handles like a sports car, with the class and style of a BMW. I really love the roomy interior and trunk, speed, and the digital climate control is really easy to navigate. The car has great suspension, shifts nicely, and offers a very smooth ride. The body is very sleek and curvy. My Diamante is often compared to the BMW 740. When driving down the street, I notice a lot of young ladies' heads turning. It could be me or the car, but who really cares? The car looks great with 17" or 18" chrome rims and black/silver tint. These two additions alone is all you need to fully accent this car.
Weakness:
The Diamante, a much as I lie it, does have its weaknesses. The interior lighting is poor, small glove box, and on slanted driveways, the rear somehow bottoms up. Recently, I've been having A/C problems. I needed to change the compressor, which was really expensive. Luckily this is all the repairs I needed.(parts would put a big dent in your wallet. But of course, what do you expect from a luxury car.) Since there isn't many Diamantes on the road, it is difficult finding parts to customize the car. But overall, its pros greatly outweigh the cons. As a young driver with a love for big, luxury cars, the Diamante has most of the major luxury features. The comfortable leather interior, exotic headlights, carbon fiber console and trim, and powerful 3.5 liter V-6 engine give this car the perfect choice for the money, after some of negotiating, of course. I'm very impressed with the power and suspension of this vehicle. I'd definitely recommend the Diamante to anyone who wants a luxury vehicle at an affordable price. Similar Products Used: I have driven a varied assortment of cars to compare the Diamante to. I have owned a 95 and 99 Galant, which I've enjoyed. I've driven the I30, ES300, GS300, Pathfinder, Camry, Maxima, Accord, 325i, e |

Strength:
Everything exterior and interior wise seems to be holding up as expected. No real complaints.
Weakness:
Everything Mechanical including engine. As other Diamante owner, I too have to frequently replace brake pads. CV joints webt out at 80K miles and struts went out at 90K miles. ADMITTEDLY BY MITSUBISHI ENGINES DESIGNED WITH POOR INTAKE GUIDE SEAL. CAR BURN ABOUT 1 QT OF OIL EVERY 250 MILES. WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER A STOPPED FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME, CAR BLOWS SMOKE LIKE A MOSQUITO FOGGER. MITSUBISHI ADMITTED PROBLEM BUT FAILED TO ADDRESS! The latest problem recently is car will not idle at stop. Car engine continually stop will at idle stop speed. Have read that Mitsubish had problems with idler motor system. If you are intent on purchasing a used Mitsubishi Diamante, I will gladly sell you mine. In addtion, if you buy any new Mitsubishi automobile, you have nobdy to blame but yourself after reviwing all the bad reviews!! I have owned Toyota, Nissan, and now a Mitsubihsi, and by far, this is this WORST Japanese vehicle of the bunch. Will not hold a candle to either Toyota or Nissan. I purhased the car with 67K miles and now have 118K. Would not recommend car to anyone! Pass them up no matter how good the looks or low the price. Power, Quiet, Quick, Smooth, Rare.
Weakness:
Lighting, Brakes, Controls This is a very smooth, quiet and quick automobile. I like the near luxury appointments and it's very comfortable. I have the LS which has leather, auto climate control and memory seats. I've been looking for this car for a while and found one with 120K miles at a auction for $5,000. The resale value on these cars are not good and that's why I got it so cheap. Mitsubishi doesn't seem to understand some of the small details like not enough interior lighting, very fake wood, only one power window switch that's lighted, cruise on-off switch behind steering wheel on dash, and brakes that are not very reassuring. I will get the brakes checked soon. Overall a nice car for the money. The thing I like the most is I don't see very many of these on the road. Diamonte VR-X
Strength:
Good acceleration and handling. I like the sporty look of the VR-X as compared to the LS.
Weakness:
No heated seats. The VR-X with the sunroof and 210 watt stereo has all the features I want and it's fun to drive. Similar Products Used: My most recent car was a 1997 Lexus ES300 and a Diamonte LS prior to that. I prefer the Diamonte VR-X. |

Mitsubishi Diamante 25VSE
Strength:
Quiet, smooth motor/ trans combination. Design still looks good after 7 years
Weakness:
Runs hot. In previous Mitzis this has been due to running too lean to get adequate gas milage and meet ADRs in Austrailia. Has resulted in burnt valves in older v6 engines. Hopefully Mitsubishi have addressed this problem. A well built, medium sized luxury sedan. The japanese market 2.5 litre v6 doesn't have the power of the 3.0 and 3.5 litre Austrailian built cars, but doesnt hog the gas like them either. 5 speed tiptronic auto transmission is just great, I don't know why Mitsubishi persists with 4 speeder. Similar Products Used: I have previously owned Austrailian - produced Ford Falcons and Holden Commodores ( G.M.)These rear - drive cars have different driving dynamic from front - wheel - drive cars, but certainly this Diam |

Handling, Dependability and quick off the mark.Maintenace is easy. I was able to resorect it many times. 170,000 miles
Weakness:
Timing belt, waterpump, alternator, squeeky breaks and city gas mileage, and it RUNS HOT IN THE SUMMER. This is a luxury sports car.I have had 25 cars of all makes and models and presently the 1997 Olds Aurora. The 1993 Mitsubishi was the best car I had ever driven. It does better than the cadillac nothstar. Plus it can be fixed. Similar Products Used: A fair deal if you are a shade tree mechanic, and love your car and do not want to trade. |

Originally had an Eclipse and needed more room. The VR-X handles well and plenty of HP. Haven't seen any others on the road since I bought mine in July. Definitely not going to spot the guy next to you driving one very often!!!!!!! |

Looks Good, Smooth, GDI 177kw 5 speed tip-tronic 4 air bags. Factory equipment means you don't need to add anything. A very safe car
Weakness:
Fuel economy not good around town Outstanding,Very inpressed. I purchased the from Japan with 17000kms. Fully loaded. This car makes the Aussie assembled ones look about 5 years behind. 3.0 litre GDI has more power than the Aussie 3.5litre. Japanese Diamante don't seem to have the problems that the Aussie model. I think the suspension is different too because it doesn't roll as much as. see, http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/docs4/web_archives/archives/1998/diamante98/index.html Similar Products Used: NZ Diamante 1995 Nissan Bluebird ARX G |
