Strength:

Huge trunk with back seats that fold down, so I can slip my snowboard through. Great gas mileage. Nice car for what I paid. Awesome stock sounds system.

Weakness:

Some sort of rattling between 2000-3000 rpm, possible in the cat converter. Back end slides around corners when it''s raining. Not enough power off the start. Ugly stock rims!

My car has been pretty good ever since I got it. I bought it with 180 000k a year and half ago, for $6700 Cdn, and have only put about $200 into it since then. It''s very flashy and all of my friends are envious. It has a couple of flaws, but so does every other car. It''s my first car, and I''d love to own a newer one with like km''s.

Strength:

Handles well, gas mileage

Weakness:

auto transmission, auto antenna

At first, I loved my MX-6. After a few months of driving it, I started having problems with my automatic transmission. I have yet to have it fixed and may not. I'm looking to sell it. My antenna also does not work on it's own anymore. From the experience I have had with my MX-6, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Strength:

Handling, brakes, good steering response and great dash layout.

Weakness:

Cup holder (only one), electric antenna is crap, automatic door locks are crap, door key mechanisms are crap, electric windows are crap. All of these things freeze and stop working, not so good for Montreal winters.

I saw this car when I was 22 years old. Immediately fell in love with it. I had to get one. I bought the thing at a Mazda dealer who had 4 of them sitting side by side. Some cars had mags, others had sun roofs, I chose a CD player. I like the ride (the frt. seats are excellent), the brakes are good the engine does what it should or what it can for a 2 liter. All in all a good car but be prepared for "crappy accessories".

Model Reviewed: Mazda MX-6 LS V6 2.5L Manual Trans.

Strength:

Speed, I have driven many a fast car, but this one takes the cake. It has a tiny V6 but cranks out much H/P and torque, takes most V6's off the line and well into high speeds. Top Speed I have never been in a V6 that could do over 145, with an exception to the Twin Turbo RX-7(my next buy) at 164, faster than my friends 911 Turbo at 162(all cars being manual trans.). Very light weight but at the same time takes corners and turns like a champ, can't pull a 'vette around some of the corners that this will take! This has got to be one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. I took a brand new 3.8L V6 camaro with 200 HP off the line and well to the finish, with no modifications and 164 HP!

Weakness:

It's got a very bad clutch that I replaced with a triple plate.
Shifting is quick with this shifter...but it wiggles a little bit left to right when you get on it, I would replace it with a short-throw shifter.
This car is known for its faulty CV joints, get those replaced before they get bad.
The paint they say is bad, but I say quit complaining they aren't brand new cars...baby them and get a new paint job!
Passenger power window is a little slow.

Beautiful car, fell in love with it at first site. Didn't even drive it before I bought it! It's a great car for a beginner driver or a very experienced driver. It has the capabilities to be in the 12's at a drag strip or just cruising down town!

I wouldn't compare it to that POS Probe(even though I know they are close) these cars are more eye-catching.
I would bet that it is more closely(in my opinion) to a modified V6 Mustang or Camaro...trust me I have been racing cars for a while and if I can spank them then any body else should be a very close run if not a win!

Strength:

That i have a 5-spd, it has a large truck, the power moon roof is a plus and for just haveing a little over 100,000 miles it runs like new.

Weakness:

Hard to find upgrades, and the back seat is definetly to small for most people. I have problems with mine shutting down when i am driveing or sometimes it won't start for a while. about 20 minutes or so. If any body else has had a problem like this please e-mail me with some of your insight, it would be greatly appretiated.

I first noticed these cars a few years ago and really liked their look. I looked at a few and did some research and finally bought one. The car came from Oklahoma so it has a great boby and underside absolutly no rust. I love driving it, even though it only has the 4 it can still beat most cars. And the gas millage, it's great.

Not only does this car look amazing, it flies. I've brought it up to 225km/hr and I mean this machine can really go. It handles turns pretty good and if driven right, the gas should last.

Weakness:

Like I already said, this car can boot but, there are some prices to pay$$$. The antena motor is busted, the clutch is not really great, I recomend investing in a performance clutch, also the passanger window motor has something wrong with it. But other than these little things the car is still worth every penny.

Since I was 16 I've wanted one of these cars and as soon as I turned 18 i bought one. These cars can really boot it. Trust me I've already went through 2 sets of tires, brakes and clutches. But that is only because I beat it all of the time.

Strength:

Strong engine
Car was built well

Weakness:

Paint
Stock clutch is garbage

In stock form, the MX6 has enough power to beat most cars on the road. It was built at a Ford factory used with primarily Mazda parts, however Ford had some chemical imbalance when painting them and therefore, the paint's clear coats is gone quickly. My hood and sunroof are fading in areas and I have crows feet on my hood. It is actually pretty minor compared to what Ive seen.

Other than that, the car is great. It doesnt rattle like some cars. Even in stock form, the handling is great. If you tend to race your car, with just a new clutch and fuel pump, the MX6 is very nitrious happy and will work well with it.

I would suggest this car to anyone looking for a fairly quick car that won't kill you on insurance. I have owned mine for almost a year and have had no problems with it. And if you like the looks of the Probe GT more or if you dont care, I would buy the Probe. Its pretty much identical but usually about 20% cheaper.

The Auto Transmissions and the back seat room

Very fast car, stay away from the Automatic, these tend to go out after a while. With over 105,000 miles, the car has performed flawlessly with small electrical problems.
