It drains your wallet,patience,time.
Weakness:
it should not be sold to anyone. this car was recalled , at least 3 times wipers,gastank, and the motor the car, was supposed to come with a tank of gas , the sales people don"t tell you how bad this car really is. At first I had to complain every other week, for example I had to call these people just to get my free tank of gas, I finelly got. it runs good now, but I would not recomend any kia for anyone except Saddom Hussain. Similar Products Used: toyota celica 1971,but the toyota ran great. |

So far gets good gas milage and keeps a good speed going.
Weakness:
The back window takes forever to defog. I can't complain to much about this car. It has given me less problems then my other cars have. SO far the problems have been few and far between. Right now, it seems to have a common problem of the Check Engine light coming on and giving a little shudder when first starting after a full stop. But I am sure that it is a Tune-up issue. Not a bad little car for the amount of money. |

GREAT MPG. I AVERAGE 28 MPG IN MIXED DRIVING IN TOURISTVILLE, MYRTLE BEACH,SC. MY SPECTRA IS THE BASE AND COMES WITH MORE THAN THE FORD FOCUS LX. WAKE UP, IT IS 2003, WE ALL WANT A CD PLAYER. KIA SPECTRAS COME WITH A STANDARD CD PLAYER. WITH THE 5 SPD, THERE IS DECENT POWER.
Weakness:
HAD TO HAVE THE LEFT DOOR PANEL REPLACED, IT WAS BROKE. ALSO, IF YOU EXPERIENCE A DOOR VIBRATION WITH THE RADIO, PRESS THE MAP POCKET. IT WILL STOP. I PUT A SMALL PIECE OF FOAM BETWEEN THE PANELS AND THE SPEAKERS SOUND GREAT! I LOVE MY KIA. IT SEAMS THAT KIA HAS WORKED OUT THE BUGS. A LOT OF FOLKS PUT KIAS DOWN. REMEMBER HONDA AND TOYOTA IN THE 1970S AND 80S? I WAS A KID AND I REMEMBER MY PARENTS FRIENDS CURSING ABOUT THE CHEAP JAP CARS. WELL THEY ARE THE BEST NOW. I BELIEVE KIA IS CATCHING UP WITH THE AUTO INDUSTRY, SINCE BEING BOUGHT BY HYUNDAI. I HATE FORDS, EVER HEARD OF THE FORD COUNTOUR? THEY ARE SORRY EXCUSES FOR AMERICAN CARS. I LOVE MY KIA. Accelerates fairly quickly, has a cute exterior.
Weakness:
No power windows, no CD player, High mileage, kinda loud, breaks make car vibrate. I have had this Kia for 2 days, Their is no reception for the radio, the breaks squeek, the plastic by my back windows is fading, and it is kinda loud. small _initial_ investment- nice look to it- very comfortable- decent handeling and gas milage.
Weakness:
OK fixed or replace so far: front wheel bearings, starter, alternator & battery, & washer nozzels. Too lazy/cheap to bother fixing the glove compartment. Doors frooze many times this winter till i flled the lock with graphite and like someone else said- you have to put the shift in drive to empty the ash tray?! Almost 1/2 a year since I bought this cheap car and the price tag keeps piling up- I now think I should have gotten a more expensive car and saved on the repairs now totalling $1614 in 5 months! BUT- for all my problems- the car IS at almost 100k miles now and it has been an exceptionally cold winter so take that into account... |

When you bought your Kia, (sorry man), how happy were you when your wife and children got stuck on a two lane bridge for 3 hours? A Kia ? never again. It's not worth it at all. Keep your money and buy a bicycle instead. You would probably save thousands! |
