Strength:

it's better than a ford or chevy. To the person who says this is better than an integra. guess what is the best handling front wheel drive car is. an integra. 8yrs old and now they just changed it. now its the fastest too.

Weakness:

Dealers dont fix anything. They lie about the warranties i have proof. customer service sucks. this car is about as good as a chevy cavalier.

This car was fun in a stick. Auto sucks. The whole car is a pieces of shi%. a civic si has more power and the only reason why this car handles is bc they use good tires. Tires are the only thing good about it. I my seatbelt pops off, transmission sucks and the i always have to figure out what's wrong with the car, i get locked in my car in the wintertime, i was late all winter long bc i was in the parking lot in my car. I recorded the dealer lieing about parts covered underwarranty and when i confronted them they cussed me out and through me out. Not once did I ever yell at them. They told me to spray wd40 inside my seat belt so it doesnt pop off.

civic r faster. it compares to a coralla in performance, it has no resale value. If u just bought a tiburon it's only worth 8grand at most. maybe ten if u find a sucker.

STYLING,HANDLING, PRICE,WARRANTEE, POWER(ACCELERATION) BRAKES!!
AS A FORMER FORMULA FORD DRIVER THESE THING ARE IMPORTANT!!!
AIR CONDITIONING IS SUPER (WILL FREEZE YOU OUT OF THE CAR-EVEN IN 90 DEGREE
HEAVY LONG ISLAND TRAFFIC).
FIT AND FINISH OF INTERIOR/EXTERIOR.
ALL THAT WITH THE SELLING PRICE! I DONT KNOW HOW HYUNDAI DOES IT.
OVERALL GREAT GAS MILEAGE PROVIDED YOU DONT DRIVE LIKE MARIO EVERYDAY

Weakness:

YEA,YEA,YEA SHOULDER BELT RETRACTOR, CUP HOLDER-DONT USE IT ANYWAY(SHOULDNT BE DRINKING ANYTHING WHEN DRIVING ANYWAY!! TOO DISTRACTING)
AS A LONG SUFFERING AUTO COMMUTER IN NY TRAFFFIC YOU LEARN THESE THINGS.
NOT REALLY A WEAKNESS BUT THE CLOTH SEATS (FOR XMAS SANTA GOT ME SHEEPSKIN COVERS-WARM IN WINTER COOLER IN SUMMER) THIS MIGHT BE A PERSONAL PREFERANCE. EVERY CAR I'VE HAD HAS HAD SHEEPSKINS.
NO OTHER PROBLEMS THE CAR HAS BEEN A DELIGHT!!!

DID RESEARCH FOR A YEAR BEFORE DECIDING ON A HYUNDAI.
TWO GUYS AT WORK HAVE HAD HYUNDAIS FOR YEARS (THEY SWEAR BY 'EM)
THEY BOTH HAVE OVER 150000 EACH ON THEM.
ALTHOUGH THEY BOTH SAY CHANGING OIL,OIL,AIR & GAS FILTERS
REGULARLY(3000 MILES) HELP BUT DUH!!
EVEN WITH CLOSER DEALERSHIPS I CHOOSE VALLEY STREAM HYUNDAI BECAUSE
THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD REPUTATION FOR EXCELLENT SALES (BOTH IN BUYING THE CAR AND FOR PARTS) AND FOR SERVICE.(YOU GUYS THAT HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH
OTHER SERVICE DEPTS TAKE NOTE-DO YOUR HOME WORK)
AND ALSO VALLEY STREAM HYUNDAI WORKS WITH AAA MEMBERS ($300.00 OVER
DEALERS INVOICE)NOT BAD. THAT SAYS ALOT
MY SALESMAN ALSO MADE SURE I MET EVERYBODY AT THE DEALERSHIP.
FROM SALES,PART AND SERVICE MGR (INCLUDING THE OWNER) TO THE MECHANIC AND HELPER THAT PREPED MY CAR. I HAVNT SEEN THE SERVICE MANAGER SINCE.
NO NEED TO-WITH 14500 MILES ON THE CAR IT REMAINS QUITE,TIGHT(NO SQUEEKS, RATTLES,BUMPS OR ANY OTHER NOISES).
IT HAS PREFORMED FLAWLESS IN OVER A YEAR.
STYLING IS GREAT (NOW THAT I ADDED A SPOILER)- HANDLING IS EVEN BETTER.
COMBINE THAT WITH A UNDER $15000 BOTTOM LINE OUT THE DOOR PRICE!!!
SOMEONE MADE A COMMENT ABOUT THE TIBURON BEING A "CHICK" CAR.
IMHO I THINK IT ONE OF THOSE RARE CARS THAT APPEALS TO "GUYS & "CHICKS"

Strength:

Awesome style, Great acceleration and power, great handling, nice factory speakers / CD-Player, ... and everything else that I dont mention in weaknesses.

Weakness:

This is a great car but has 2 small problems.
-The interior squeeks a little
-The backseat has limited room for tall/fat people.

This is an awesome car. If you have 15k to spend on one, and you like fast sporty cars that get more that 10 miles per galon, buy a tiberon.

Eclipse - seems like it has far more head room, accelerates faster, looks cooler, and not everyone has one.

Strength:

great looks, suspension, responsiveness, comfortable seats

Weakness:

the hatchback trunk. it's hard to close it shut unless you slam it down.

I paid around $15,500 (paid for the rear spoilers)
on this car, the rear spoiler looks great, like it's part of the car.
i got mine in jazz orange and it really does stand out.
this car is not for tall people over 5'9", but for small people like me (5'2") it's great. the car fits me like a glove. the front seats are very comfortable. and of course the back seats are cramped. what do you expect? it's a sports car. you put your stuff there, not usually people.
for a sports car, you won't get any better deal. the standard options package is great!!!!!! i would recommend the spoiler though and tinted windows to give it a more slick look.
overall, the car is so damn cute.

Car has greatpickup. I used to have a 98 that was not as good. That is because Hyundai added 13 horse power so it has 153. Seats are nices and confy for long trips. No troble at all and would by 10 more if I could.

Weakness:

none

I paid 15,000 for mine and it has every thing including leather. If you do get a tiburon get a 5 speed. The atomatic is really slow. I would defenitly recomend this car.

EVERYTHING! It handles great, it's pretty fast...i've raced, (and beat some cars... don't dare race a mustang, though :P ) I bought mine in bright yellow. Great color! I'm single, and all the "honeys'" notice me! ;P
tinted windows and rear spoiler make it WAY cuter! Runs Great!

Weakness:

It has some pretty bad blind spots, and the cup holders are small...they're also right in front of the radio buttons :( Small things, though... it's still a great car!

I paid 14,500 for mine. Great price for such a great car! The warranty is the best, too. I never thought i'd drive a hyundai, but I love mine and i'll probably drive them from now on. I would definetely recommend my car to anyone, but it's more eye-catching to younger people (16-25) I don't regret buying this car one bit!

Strength:

A very powerful car for its genre
Plenty of room for the driver and passenger (I'm 6'3)
Interior design is magnificent and easy to access
The styling is brave and very aggressive
The suspension is great for those that enjoy feeling the road, and with suspension add-ons the handling is magnificent!
At stock, the car eats up similar classed cars hands down. I've killed cars in the likes of Integras, Batman Styled Civics, Neons, as well as older model tibs.

Weakness:

The availability of aftermarket parts don't even shadow that of honda.
The large hood provides a very nice sleeping area for the stray cats in the area.

I also now own the hyundai accent 2001. For that "profesional reviewer" that tested the Tiburon and said it had slightly more power then the Accent...What the heck were you driving? I had my girlfriend race me, her in the Tiburon, me in the accent. She's new to stick shift so I tought I'd still win with the advantage of racing on a regular basis. I maxed out the Accent and didn't even stand a chance. I got her on the take off, but she quickly took over and blew by me. Don't get me wrong I love my Accent as well but the Tiburon's is hands down way above the smaller cars league. I beat civics, neons, and corrolas in the Accent, so it's not like the Accent is just slow. If you were to ask me to recomend this car, I'd just say no to most people. The car is for serious eco racers only. Stay away from the automatics, or go for Elantra (same car different body) This car draws out races, and the car is very able to take them on.

I test drove the Integra GSR and was tempted to buy it, but when I test drove the Tiburon and found it had comparable power, cheaper, more standard accesories, and I actually fit in it with out banging my knee on the steering wheel with every shift, there was no contest.

Strength:

Styling, options, price, warranty

Weakness:

Typical Hyundai: My third and last... Vehicle weaknesses - squeaky brakes, interior rattles and buzzes, cracked plastic and trim: The brakes have squeaked and grinded since day one - dealer says "Inherent Vehicular Characteristic". Dashboard, door and hatchback squeaks, rattles and buzzes - dealer says: Inherent Vehicular Characteristic. Cracked plastic trim inside and outside - dealer says: Inherent Vehicular Characteristic.

I have owned a few Hyundai's, but this one will be my last. Their styling has come quite a ways, and the features included for the price cannot be beat. Also, everyone is so impressed with their warranty. However, consider that you must continually bring the vehicle back and back and back to the dealer (because they are always unable to fix ANYTHING on the first visit, and they NEVER have the parts they need), and your 10 year 100,000 warranty seems to pale. They are usually unable to fix things like rattles, squeaks, buzzes and other weird traits their vehicles have. When faced with these types of problems (I am a driver that expects a smooth and quiet ride), they finally inform you that (insert your complaint here) is an inherent vehicular characteristic, and cannot be fixed. Also, although their finish is guaranteed, their attempt to fix chips, is getting one of their mechanics to dap on touch up paint. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I have a fully loaded vehicle, automatic everything, power everything, leather, etc. When the dealer cannot fix anything, and you complain, Hyundai will dispatch two morons from Fountain Valley CA (at least they did me), who will ride in the car, and tell you that any problem you are experiencing, does not actually exist, and the car is driving perfectly. This is NOT the case. It is a comfortable ride, the stereo system (AM FM CASS CD) is killer, and the ride is very good for a small car, but cheapness comes from crappy trim materials, and not poor construction quality. Door panels crack, paint chips, vehicle squeaks and rattles and buzzes, and my transmission shifts funny, as if it gets confused at times. Dealer say: (you guessed it) - inherent vehicular characteristic. Perhaps these things don't occur when you're motoring in Seoul, South Korea, but they do manifest in the United States. My recommendation? Buy a Mitsubishi Eclipse, a Toyota Celica, or a Honda Prelude. Be satisfied to drive past a Tiburon and admire the styling, but don't let it go any further than that! Mine is being traded this month. In all, I have been very disappointed in Hyundai, and this will be my last. They say they stand behind their products, but in reality, they do not. They seem to be unable to diagnose and fix their own vehicles, and when this is the problem - your vehicle could be warranted for a million miles, and it still wouldn't be worth the paper the warranty is printed on. BUY MITSUBISHI or TOYOTA or HONDA.

Similar Products Used:

1995 Hyundai Turbo-Scoupe (mine), superior in style, features and ride, but Hyundai is unable to repair their own vehicles: When faced with an anomoly, that dealer cannot seem to fix - they always come back with "Inherent Vehicular Characteristic". Unacceptable!

I just bought it Jan 6th 2001, had 11 miles on it but just because it was year 2000 model, knocked off close to $5500 off final price. $15000 Out the door and IT WAS LOADED. I love everything in the car. Two tone leather, Nice CD & CASS player, big spoiler, fog lights sunroof, Exterior design and the handling. Heard it was built by Porsche. Combination with great suspensions and great tire makes car handle better. Hyundai makes good cars. People say alot of bad stuff about it just because it's hyundai but they gotta admit that it's whole lot better than CIVIC. Better value, design, and performance. I just bought Hyundai's XG300 Dec 27 and it's as comfortable as Lexus or Acura! Just love Hyundai!

Weakness:

alot of road noise from the trunk, cup holder(seems like everybody is complaining about it) and thats about it/

I would definitely recommend any hyundai because they make good reliable cars. People who are still thinking of hyundai in early 90's should change their mind about hyundai. like hyundai says, "riving is Believing"

Strength:

Nice styling, braking, steering is great

Weakness:

Cheaply made, could use more power, unavailability of 1. parts that break, 2. performance parts

OK, price is decent, however I paid near $17000 for mine, NOT an FX. Let me just say this car is NOT for someone who is aggressive. I've gone through 3 transmissions, one my fault completely. That means on my fourth now. Going to have my wife drive it now:) Drives really nice though. Steering is awesome, even better with higher speed. Braking is really good too. Once things start to go wrong with it though, BAD LUCK. The seating although enough room, is uncomfortable after extended periods of time. Back aches after an hour or more. I've dropped probably four grand into this car, because I've had to get everything from the dealer. I got it in '97, 36000 warranty, I've got 42000 on it, so it's all me from here. BAD BAD BAD. The dealer I deal with is one of the worst ever, Alan Jacobs, not to mention names, but since changing names, have not had the chance to deal with them. Other than availability and price of parts, the car drives nice, stops nice, looks great, and has a nice stereo, though I opted for my own. Could use more power, via bigger engine, or higher output.

If you are an aggressive driver, please DO NOT PURCHASE. Sve yourself a lot of money, and get a Trans AM. You'll be much more pleased, even with the gas mileage compromise. If you want something with room, this is not it. I am 6'3", front seat is fine. Don't try to put anyone in back though, it doesn't bode well, and the rear passengers will hit their heads on the hatch window.
If you are not aggressive, plan to drive according to state mandated regulations, then it's fine, if you don't mind the lack of overwelming power.
This is, excuse me ladies, mainly a chick car. Not saying women don't drive just as wrecklessly as men sometimes, maybe worse, just they ten to me more loving with their cars.
Myself, I'd prefer something that will not break with a little beating. Choices are becoming fewer and fewer though. Hope this helps a bit.
