? I'm hoping the service and warranty hold up, although I should go through the 100k powertrain in three more years. I bought the car off the lot after the 2002's were out. I drive 100 miles round trip to work and I would recommend this car to anyone. I have not had a single problem in six months. The car has good power and good milage. The seats seem a little hard but not uncomfortable. Similar Products Used: Honda Civic |

Speed, control, child trunk release, comfort, awesome sound system...just about everything! great car for a better price!
Weakness:
Gas milage isn't as much as I'm used to. It averages appx. 25 miles to the gallon...I'm so used to appx 40 in all my other cars---compact cars, obviously` I have a friend that has a Sonata, and loves it...that's what made me start looking at the Hyundai's. Ordinarily, I would have never thought about a Hyundai; I'm used to their old reputation---Accel, need I say more? Anyways, I found a lot of good reviews from people that really enjoy their Hyundai's. I went to test drive the Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Nissan Altima & Sentra, all the comparable cars. Well, when I test drove and fell in love with it! Although I can't say much for the dealership I purchased it from, the car and the warranty were the what sold me. I traded in my 2000 Toyota and paid 6800 cash for my champagne, automatic transmission Elantra. My Elantra has the CD player, Sun roof, trunk package, keyless entry, security system--all the good stuff! As I said the dealership were anything but desirable---they wanted me to trade in my 2000 Toyota (with my cd changer in the trunk) and pay 8,000 for an Elantra with no cd, no sunroof, no trunk package, no keyless entry---NO WAY! It took 4 hours of haggling, but I got what I wanted! I love this car! I've got a 4 year old daughter, so I neeed the "midsized" car for room---tired of all my compact cars! It drives so smoothly, great acceleration, fantastic control. I feel like I'm in a sturdy car---doesn't feel flimsy like so many compact cars. Fantastic car for the money---had I gone to any of the other car makers, and got the same features in their vehicles, I would've spent 10,000 more. Similar Products Used: Honda Civic. It feels solid and comfortable especially the lumber support.I love the looks, the color, keyless entry with alarm, cruise control and much more, did a woman design this car, it feels like it.
Weakness:
so far the only thing I do not like is the antannae but that is small stuff. I had a toyota corolla 1990 with 180.000+miles, and was ready to buy another one until the dealer played the price game going from 16.000 to 15.200 then when I called the car had been sold and the price was up to 16,000again, thats when I decided to go on cars direct and shop the Elantra, so far I love the looks, all the equipment that comes standard, the warranty, and the price.I had made my mind up that I was going to buy this car without even seeing it. I know the Elantra does not have a reliabilty rating like the corolla but my best friend has had an a Accent for a year and has not had any problems, so far I love it. I noticed a lot of people who have had problems with this car have bought a used one sometimes 7 or 8 years old. Similar Products Used: Toyota Corolla |

none that i cuold think off except for the car dealers a bunch of scamers that made us feel that they where traing to get their hands in our packets when we bought this car we did not have a lot of money to spend but when we so our car my wife fell in love with it for the looks becouse ours came fully loaded with the spoiler and the sunroof and keyless entry and the wheels and the cd and everything else but what sold me was when we test drove the car and I HAD TO EAT ALL THE BAD THINGS I SAID ABOUT THIS CAR TO MY WIFE so needless to say we bouth it and in two years we have not have one thing go wrong with it i love it its exellent in gas about 340 miles on a tank of gas I can not say enought about how please I am about this car but to get to this point we had to threaten the dealership to go to court becouse they are not very bright to start with my car is blue my title says is green after we pick the car and fill all the papers when we came to pick the car it was not the one we pick and they told us that becouse of a mistake they made on their side they could not sell me the car that we pick we walk out of the dealer and told them that we will see them in court that night the manager call and said that he could give us the car but without the wheels we agree only becouse we where not that crazy about the wheels anyway next thing that happen is when it came time to sign the finance papers we read them and found that there where a $2000 extra attachet to it needles to say that was another fight of yelling and threatings finally they gave in and gave us the car the reason way i wrote thi review is that we are so impress with hyundai that we wanted to buy a santafe we test drove it and love it but here cames the bad part went to another dealer fill the papers but they never bather to call us back to let us know anything we had to call yhem to find out but gave us only excuses so me and my wife gave up and told them that we where not interested anymore becouse if they can not give us the time of day why should we Similar Products Used: all kinds of cars from scort to BMW i am a mechanic |

For a mid-size car it is quite spacious in the back. The GT comes with so many options standard: the leather, CD, etc. The hatchback also offers alot of trunk space. It is just a great first car.
Weakness:
The only weakness for me is the leak in the hatch area, but like I said that was beyond anyone's control. I am very happy with my Elantra GT. I test drove the typical teen cars: Civic, Focus, etc. However, Hyundai at that time was one of only two companies offering the 10-year/100,000 limited warranty. Kia (the other one with that warranty) did not offer as much as half the options that came standard with my Elantra. I have taken it in a few times for a leak in the hatch area, but that was probably just a manufacturer's error. Other then that, I have had no problems with the automobile. For a 16 year-old's first car, it serves it's purpose: fuel-efficient, sporty, and inexpensive. I highly recommend it. Similar Products Used: As stated previously, I test drove the majority of the mid-size cars in the price range as the Elantra GT. Before I got my new car I was driving a 1987 Dodge Caravan LE. It was a piece of junk, but it |

None I spent two months looking for a car. Everyone I went to didn''t want to finance me because I still owed on my trade in car. Well, I went to a Hyundai dealership and they had me in my new car within an hour. I love my Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback. It drives better than any of the other cars I test drove. It''s great on gas and it''s cute. |

umm the price and warranty.....i also loooove all the features that come standard and with all this warm weather i LOVE my sunroof a definite must if you can get it especially sonce you get it with the abs package.
Weakness:
the cheap paint job.....you can definately tell the quality of paint by looking at it. and the lack of lights in the backseat area of the car and trunk.....i carry a flashlight in my glove box because i can never find anything at night in that thing!! it can ride rough but it is above par for a car in this price range.my brakes are also a wee bit spongey and make noises maybe sumthing i need to get looked at. i did alot of research into buying my first car. i wanted a car that got good mileage and would be reliable and within the confines of my price range. the car has only given me a few problems one of which is my two failed fog lights but that might stem from the reason that i use them whenever i have my lights on. another thing is the annoying check engine light but thats from spilling some gas at the staion and the emissions detector doing its job. |

It has great gas mileage. It handles great. It''s a smooth ride.
Weakness:
The car rattles a bit when the radio is up loud enough. I bought this car, used, after it being only a year old. I have had this car for three years since, and it runs great. I have not needed to have any major service done to it. The car has held up after being driven back and forth from Illinois to California twice. When I bought the car, it had 22,000 miles on it. It''s now at 88,000 with no signs of slowing down. It''s a great car and I''ll recommend it to anyone. |
