Strength:

Very quick, economical on fuel, fun to drive with the roof off (or on for that matter), goes round corners quickly, 4 wheel disk brakes, sound system sounds great, Honda''s attention to detail just so impressive.

Weakness:

Power Steering bit vague at times. Hard getting in and out of the car with dignity, has small roof leak in heavy rains.

Was looking for a car with a Targa roof and stumbled on the delsol. Paid too much money for it, but eh, its got a vtec dohc engine with only 56K on the clock. Power is very mild until about 5000 rpm then yoohoo, hold onto ya hat. Just can''t stop driving this car cause its too much fun. Thing is so low and small, you''d expect it to be very small inside, but very surprised to find a very large aircraft cockpit style interior with heaps leg room to spare (I''m 6 foot).

Strength:

Front wheel drive (handles better in the snow that we get here) CHEAP bolt-ons, lightweight, handles just as good stock as my camaro with upgraded tires and struts, etc...

Weakness:

hmm... well, i cant really think of any offhand, other then the fact that all my friends g/fs want me >;)

Im usually an american car kinda person, i have a 95 camaro that im currently turning into an SS, ive always been a fan of the american rear wheel drive cars (Dodge Viper, Chevy Corvette Z06, Pontiac Trans Am, etc...) and always thought that Hondas were just that: 4 Cyl. rice eaters with no power. Im used to 8-cyl. mass HP to be fast, but then i bought my Del Sol to keep the miles off my Camaro. I LOVE it now, my view on the import scene are drastically changing now.

Strength:

for my size, 5''8, fit perfect. the shifter is placed perfectly. comfortable interior, so easy to upgrade, reliability is awesome. convertible rear window down fun in the summer, and a hard top in the winter. the whole roof storage thing is genius. fun to drive, chick magnet. decent sized trunk. great transmission.

Weakness:

cup holders, sun visors are dinky. 2 seater but that can be a plus sometimes. windows fog up and hard to defog. but mostly little stuff.

Gotta love the sol. For the price you pay, awesome handling, good power although I would''ve liked to get a DOHC VTEC. Plenty of aftermarket things to add on and make it faster and better looking. reliability is second to none, it''s a honda. over 100k miles and not a single problem besides routine maintenence. I loved the thing.

I went looking for a new car after growing tired of the same old v6 american muscle cars that just arent reliable. what I found was a 4 cylinder sports car that outshines and outlasts any domestic ive ever driven. My Del Sol had 134000 mls on it when i bought it. I would never buy a car with that many miles on it unless it was given to me. but when i saw this car at the dealer, i knew i had to have it. it had everything i wanted in a car: looks, speed, handeling, roomy(im 6 1/2 ft tall),and a car almost no one else has. girls love all the gadgets: convertable, back window, the way the seats hold you tight. the car has excellent trunk space for long trips. nothing is wrong with this car. i suggest you go make a purchase asap!!!

great looking car, handles with will, can get up and move when it needs to, the truck space is an added bonus.

Weakness:

top leaks(keep towels hand), lighter is in strange location, I now have too many miles on it.

Wonderful sporty car! Love the looks and feel and who would expect so much trunk space. I have had this car for 3.5 years and it now has 201000 miles on in. Have had NO problems at all. Excellent car for anyone who loves to drive. Used it for long trips and daily commuting. The back window adds to the fun.

Strength:

Fun, targa-top, sliding rear window, reliablility, gas mileage, fun, VTEC engine, excellent road feel, affordable, big trunk (it will hold a beer keg), looks, fun, little wind noise with top off, unique, handling, fun.

Weakness:

Lack of low-RPM torque. Cup holders and sunvisors are joke. Only two seats. No longer made. No "lights on" reminder warning. Insurance can be high.

With to top on and front wheel drive, its great in winter. With the top off and rear window down its great in summer. With the short-throw 5-speed, VTEC growl, and excellent handling, its great all year round. While sliding around corners its easy to throttle stear without fear of spinning. The feedback is excellent and the car responds quickly. But most of the time I just enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of goin' topless.

Strength:

Quick, Agile, Waterproof, Gets around in the snow. One year we got alot of snow, I went out the next morning and had no problems... I even had to pull over a couple of time to let trucks go by.

Weakness:

I only had a few problems with squeaking and the exhaust pipe needed replacing. 108,000 Miles and no major problems. I only wish it had power steering. One of the biggest problems that I had was when i Wrecked it. No injuries, but the air bag deployed..... If I would have known that the insurance company would have totaled my car because the airbags cost about 8 G's to replace, I would have disconnected them.

After buying the car for just under $8000 and 46,000 MI on the odometer. I couldnt touch one now. When the insurance totaled it they gave me 8,700 and I had about 90,000 on the odometer. I paid off the car and pocketed the rest. Of course now I want another, but cant find one to save my life. At least not for that price. Definate Collectors Item!!!

I really would like to drive a miata but I couldnt afford a new one. I could get into a del sol for much cheaper price and its theftproof. the windows down and top off and there is hardly a breeze to mess up your hair.

Strength:

For a 8 year old car, it still gets its looks.
The car feels very sporty and holds the road well with hardly any bodyroll! The interior is nicely designed and still up to date.
Great on gas on the highway.
No problems with this car so far, just a fog light burnt out!

Weakness:

Engine could use a little more power
Small sun visors are pretty usless,
Odd placement for cup holders
The biggest weakness is there is NO lever for the trunk.

I've owned a 93 Ford Probe GT before and wow, the problems I had. The Del Sol is one fine car. This car should not even be a Civic, but should be a true sports car. I drove this car all year around , with no problems at all. Why this car is discontinued , I have no idea. Theres nothin wrong with it. If you are looking for a cheap sports car, with looks, performance(then a maita), and Honda relibility, This is your car(if you can find one!)I'd recommend this car to anyone!

Similar Products Used:

I've sat in a 92 Maita , and it is quite small, the new ones are the same. Plus the car is not as quick. The maita is a girlie car. Once I hooped back in the del sol , I knew I made the right choice
