Strength:

Everything listed above

Weakness:

Sadly, Honda's have their fair share of wannabe's and posers, such as Krustin Dumm listed below. He thinks the car is very quick, yet he has never driven it, or any other CRX for that matter, and doesn't or has never owned a CRX or any other fine Honda automobile.

Fast, reliable, fun to drive, similar to a street legal 100 hp go-kart, lots of aftermarket support for those looking to turn their CRX into a performance machine.

Similar Products Used:

1988 Plymouth Colt Vista: Lots of room, but not very quick.
2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab: Slow, auto tranny.
2000 Subaru Outback: Lots of room, fast, all wheel drive, aesthetically pleasing (looks awesome)

Strength:

Every thing, what can you say to a car that will probably look good to those in the next mellinium.!.lol!

Weakness:

Not know how to fix things, "not the car it self"

Awsome car, fast reliable, great on gas. Even with primor only the car looks good.
Easy to work on, parts are pretty much cheap.

Strength:

Extremely fuel efficient! (Beats the old Topaz!)
Excellent Pickup- Can beat just about about anyone off the line!
2 Seater-I'm not a taxi anymore. : )
Virtually unlimited aftermarket options
Good Acoustics
Cheap Repairs for the most part
Easy to park (usually)
Lots of leg room and cargo space

Weakness:

Prone To Rust- Not exactly sure how much it will cost me to repair...
Lack of power steering cost me $200, long story...
If you're in practically any kind of accident you pretty much dead...

I payed $3500 Canadian, not American!
Best bang for the buck for me! Small car that gets me around in style and fun!
Turns heads since there are not too many around here!
Good 1st Car!

After looking for a car for a long time I knew I started looking at the Gen2 CRX's. Sadly most decent ones were $6000+ and the next car I could afford were Civic Hatchbacks which were 9000+.

Overall its an excellent student car and if you have the desire and pockets to do it up its well worth it!
Unfortunately the body on mine needs a fair bit of work which I didn't notice when I bought it so I'm still debating on wether or not I'm going to repair it or get a Del Sol.
Either way bring someone who knows about cars with ya to check it out!
I learned my lesson!

But its still a great car!
Very dependable!

Honda should bring back the CRX but since that probably wont happen i guess I'll be thankful for the S2000

1998 Honda Civic CX Hatchback- Almost bought it and they're similar but the CRX is faster off the line
1986 CRX (DX?)- Not bad for a 1st Gen but I prefer my 2nd Gen CRX(my pref)
1997 Civic Si Coupe- Although newer my CRX feels sportier, but I wouldn't mind the V-Tech engine : )
I knew I wanted a Honda but lack of money and insurance kept me from getting a Del Sol.
Good 1st Car, but watch for rust!

Strength:

Everything - engine, brakes, gear shift, handles like a dream and easly to park and maintain. Reliable.

Weakness:

Rust and rattles.

What can I say about a car that has been the only reliable thing in my life?! Back when I bought Yabu back when pocket rockets were the craze so there were many to choose from but the si won me over because of it's clean lines and low hoodline and DRIVING POSITION. The engineers at Honda took their time designing this little ride and it shows. Mine is 11 years old now and of course it needs more tlc especially the exterior but you know what? it's fine because I still have to rev the engine at stop signs because the engine is so quiet that I can't tell if my motor is running! Truly one of the best cars ever made.

Strength:

great gas mileage, very fast, low maintenance

Weakness:

Definitely the rust issue and the timing belt

I bought my 91 CRX Si almost 6 years ago for $7000.00. I loved the car because it was small & sporty yet quite fast. I was also tired of driving everyone else around and I figured that a 2 seater would solve that problem. I loved that car so much. Unfortunately a few days ago a lady hit me doing 35 mph and totalled my car.

Strength:

acceleration (at least in mine), handling, economical, great looking, price of car, and lots more (you know if you own one)

Weakness:

rust aroung the rear fenders,no cup holder, rough ride when lowered(thats to be expected),pgm fi light on dash always comes on, brake fade...(these are on a car almost 15 years old though)

this car is the total package for twice what costs. where else do you get superb handling , execellent gas milage, and great styling that even 10 years later people still dream of owning one.thats not even testamant to the dependability and low maintenance cost of this car.

Similar Products Used:

anything close to its price range does not compare, anything in that time frame does not compare, i've never been beat by another civic(ever)and very few preludes have managed to do it

Strength:

Styling, performance, weight, huge after-market for performance parts, good amount of room for a two-seater.

Weakness:

As usual, RUST...

I've always wanted this car since high school. I owned 3 VW GTI's and I thought they were the most fun-to-drive cars ever. But when I totaled my last GTI, I though it would be a good time to track down a CRX. Fortunately, a friend of mine was getting ready to buy a new car and was willing to sell me his CRX, dirt cheap. I have to say, it handles better than the GTI and I can limit my passengers to just one. I've owned the car for 4 years now w/o any major problems. When I bought the car, it had 113K. This summer I treated it to a total body restore w/ a Wings West body kit, lowered springs, rims and engine mods. I plan to keep this car forever.

Similar Products Used:

Owned the first gen GTI, a 2nd gen 16v Scirocco, and 2 2nd gen GTI's, although the torque of the 1st gen GTI is not matched by the CRX, the CRX wins for overall styling and reliability.

Model Reviewed: CRX DX 1.3

Strength:

Excellent gas mileage, quick, and looks ahead of it's time compared to other cars from 84! Also most parts from any CRX 84-87 are interchangable with little or no modifying.

Weakness:

EGR problems, rear soiler noise, used to leak water into spare tire well, no low setting on a/c fan switch.Carbuerator, Catylitic converter for smog!

I bought the car from a girl who drove it mostly on the freeway. At the time it had 180,000 miles. The car had always had the oil changed on time but had been neglected otherwise. The front end was bent up from a minor fender-bender and had a cracked header panel (who's isn't!) Now my car has about 225,000 and it's the most reliable car in my family. Here is a list of some of the things I have replaced that commonly are known to malfunction: Struts, Vacuum advance, Blower motor resistor (a/c fan), CV joints, EGR valve, Header panel, headlights (from 87 Yes they are different and YES it can be done easily!!!), timing belt, water pump, Transmission from 1.5 (YES this also can be done, it is interchangable w/1.5)

Nothing compares!!! CRX's ROCK!!!
