Strength:

Fun, spacious, and sporty. Feel safe. Doesn''t feel "trucky".

Weakness:

Heavy, feels like your going faster than you really are. Side step, when raining will soak the cuff of your pants every time. Cup holders too easily removed along with your cup. Not aerodyamic for hwy driving, will feel heavy winds.

Love the car, hate washing it. Wish it was a little. Also wish the rear didn''t kick out going over train tracks and bumps.

Strength:

Roomy, comfy, and great styling. Very few mechanical problems. Fairly fast for a big car. I love the dial set and the dash layout.

Weakness:

HEAD GASKETS!!!!!! BREAKS!!!!! Handling could be better. The engine is seriously underpowered for a 3.8L... look what Pontiac has done with thiers....2.4L with 210hp....WOW and i could really have done with a standard transmission and drink holders.

I love my T-bird. It is deffinitely tone of the best cars i''ve ever driven. But as most people have mentioned the handling definitely could be better. But it is a big heavy car so it is understandable. Had the head gasket problem... that really sucked, $1200 is alot of money to fork out for a manufacturers defect..... screw you ford. But other than that the car has had relitively no problems. Ford should have used " rims with big thick rotors though, i just can''t keep mine strait.

Great acceleration 0-60 in bout 6 secs maybe less, Fun to drive, even more fun to race :)

Weakness:

Automatic Trans, would be better if 5-Spd

Wow, this car is great. The 3.8V6 SuperCharged engine pushes 210+ HP stock and can run with most cars on the road, you''ll be leavin honda''s in the dust with this car. No major problems just the starter other than that car runs great

Strength:

roomy interior, decent gas mi for a poweful engine, good heater, reliable in any damn weather you please.

Weakness:

rotors wear and will throw off whole front end if you dont replace them. tranny ok so far but if I was to abuse it I doubt it''d last. we baby this car and it is good to us. A/C takes away lots of power from the engine..dont bother with it. stiff over bumps. changes gears sometimes before engine is up to speed. lugging the engine in turn. engine lacks power to still be a badass @ 166,000 mi (even tho it runs well) fastest on interstates almost like car was made to cruise and ill tell you t-birds HATE the city bumps and stop/go sh*t. If this car gets us through this winter (it will) we''ll be happy. be careful in snow with these. hehehe..one note...for a 3.8 car is so heavy its hard to get tire at all.

Car has 3.8 litre engine and with all of the cring going on about the headgaskets blowing and whatnot I guess this car is the lucky few that have not had many problems. Had head job at 135,000 mi. and currently@ 166,00-mi. car is still dependable. Let me tell you people some magic about cars and engines....ready?...ogay.it''s called CHANGE THE DAMN OIL EVERY 2,000 mi .not every 3,000 mi. and your car will love you. Service tranny every 10,000mi too. Car is not perfect but reliable. Lucky to not have been stranded ever and once that old b#stard gets out of third gear it''ll move up nicely.

Lots of Power. Smooth ride. Lots of room. Handles very well with the sport package.

Weakness:

Intake Manifold. Mas Air Flow Sensor. Could use a bit more Tourque. Vary hard to find performance parts.

Great Car. Wanted a Mustang but I found they were way to small and rode way too rough. Found a T-Bird and fell in love! Lots of Power, smooth ride, lots of room, rear wheel, what more can a guy ask for!

Strength:

1. Strong V8. (0-60 in 8.0 seconds-not bad) 2. Smooth transmission. 3. Quiet and comfy interior. Very roomy to. 4. Good sound system. 5. Powerful AC. 6. Not one single problem has come up, yet. 7. VERY GOOD BURNOUTS, CAN SMOKE THE TIRES. (everyone is shock to hear my car is an automatic, not a stick) 8. Good handling for its size. 9. ABS and Traction Assist. 10. 28 mpg on highway.

Weakness:

1. Car tends to have a floaty ride at high speeds. 2. Governor spoils everything. (pretty much tops out a 105) 3. Windows are probably cursed, sometimes REALLY SLOW to roll down at times, I try my best not to anger them. 4. Suspension make weird noises as i go over even the slightest bump. 5. OF ALL THE PLACE AND SPACES IN THE CAR, WHY ARE THE CUP HOLDERS IN THE CENTER GLOVE COMPARTMENT??? 6. Terrible response from the transmission when floor between 30-50 miles per hour. 7. Slow-to-downshift tranny. 8. Weight is a factor. 9. 17-18 mpg in city.

Good car. It''s quiet, nice looking, has good performance from the V8 (it could use more low-end torque and could at least rev. to red-line). The car is really fun to drive and gets good gas mileage for its weight. The interior is comfortable for five people even on long trips. The four wheel independant suspension is a must have. I love the way the car turns heads when I''m at school.

Strength:

Even that my n/a Thunderbird was a base model the handling with my new dunlop tires 215/70/r15 was great , 3.8 Engine was ok but it could use more power or a manual version of the tranny would help alot, another thing that i like about my Thunderbird the design was awsome , not the interior dashboard but the old way rear wheel drive and the way you can play when it was wet [that was fun hehe] .. Cheap prices on parts and easy to find these days...

Weakness:

interior design , spedo only to 85 , lack of tach, cup holders, 3.8 Engine [Gasket problems, never had one but you never know] , power steering messtup to loud and leaking, GAS consumption specially in the city highway wasn''t to bad , 3.8 L engine doesn''t have enough from the line otherwise its great i liked it ...

IF you look for the THUNDERBIRD get a SC version on a stick .. or the 4.6L v8 or 5.0 v8 the v6 3.8 is ok for everyday use but raported problems got me scared so i had to get rid of it, if it was a v8 i would keep it and swap a manual trany to it and it would fly, Thunderbirds are very strong , mean looking and very dangerous [sc][5spd] or even the v8 . The best things about Thunderbird that they are comfy and very Good looking ..

Strength:

Nice combination of performance and luxury.

Weakness:

Composite intake manifold and brake rotors.

I have previously posted a review several months ago and reported that I was highly pleased with my car. I noticed from other reviews that it is prone to have two major problems- a cracked intake manifold and warped rotors. At 36,000 miles, I have encountered both problems. The intake manifold cracked while I was on I-95- the low coolant warning light came on and the temperature guage went to HOT. I immediately pulled over and had to have my car towed back to the dealer in New Jersey (45 miles). Based on what I read on this website, I informed the dealer that the repair would be covered by Ford under Program 97-M91. He checked and agreed to replace the manifold at no cost. In addition, Ford voluntarily agreed to pay my towing (upon presentation of a receipt). I am not happy that this problem occurred but I very thankful that I was well-informed!
