Strength:

great running with only 32,000 miles on it from previous owner and lots of POWER

Weakness:

cheap after market radio which sucks installed from previous owner

I haven't had any problems as of yet. I hope I don't, but I did get an extended warranty and 8yr and 80,000 mile ontop of that. Get this I got it for no cost because they had miss communications and I ended up with it the warranties for FREE what a deal.

Peppy with the 3.2L, Roomy, Look great.

Weakness:

Reliability

Since I bought this car I have had several problems. I am so thankful that I purchased the extended warrenty as it has already paid for itself twice. The car looks great and does have a lot of room for a sedan. The problems that I have encountered over the past year and 12,000 miles have been quite extensive. I have had the speed sensor replaced, belt tensioner replaced, A/C compressor replaced, rear power window motor replaced and rear bearing replaced. I am currently experiencing sloppy steering with a loud rattle whenever I hit the slightest bump in the road. I am taking the vehicle in for service again. I have been told it will need a new rack and pinion steering assembly. I have found several other owners to experience that same problems. If your looking into purchasing this automobile do yourself a favor and purchase the most comprehensive extended warrenty available.

Weakness:

I HATE ! I HATE! THE FACTORY INSTALLED CD PLAYER AND SPEAKERS I'M A PERSON WHO LIKES LOUD MUSIC AND THE FACTORY INSTALLED SUCKS.

I PURCHASED MY CAR IN JAN.2003 FROM A DEALERSHIP IN MERRIVILLE INDIANA I THINK I GOT A VERY GOOD DEAL ON IT FOR IT TO HAVE AS MANY MILES ON IT AS IT DID WHICH WAS 93,000 MILES BUT WITH FINANCING AND ALL MY TOTAL PRICE WAS ONLY $9,000.

Strength:

Lots of power and plenty of room. You could probably fit 3 people in the trunk.

Weakness:

The trans. and heater. I was told that Intrepids and any other Dodge cars are unsafe because the steering linkage bolt can brake and you will have no controll.

Hello I recently bought a 1993 Intrepid with a 3.3 V-6, and I am happy to say that the car is driving great and running great. Lots of power and plenty of room. Considering that the car has 185,000 mile on her. I still couldn't believe how great this car is. I thought that it would run like S*** because of the miles. The previous owner put a new tran. and did other repairs to it but if she's still running this good by may I'm going drive from CT to FL.

Strength:

smooth ride

Weakness:

cheap shoddy parts and workmanship

After purchasing this vehicle there were several problems with the electric mirrors and windows not working correctly. Also while driving down the road, I hit a small piece of tire and the entire bumper fell off the car. The bumper is held on by a few plastic grommets against a thing layer of fiberglass. I am afraid that another month of driving that the whole car might fall apart. The dealership will not fix the bumper due to the small piece of tire in the roadway, but it is amazing that a bumper can fall off that easily. The car rides smooth, but cheaply made.

Strength:

Nice roomy inside and sporty outside. Low maintenance vehicle. I ran synthetic oil and rotated tires every 5,000 miles. Factory tires when 64,000 miles before having to be replaced. Only one brake job was need. A tune-up at 80,000 was my choice. Highly recommend the Dodge Intrepid.

Weakness:

Only minor problems were with the windows - electric roller tracks were going out and had to be replaced at 80,000 miles on 2 windows. I also replaced teh fan shroud. Other than that, the car was problem free.

This is the best car I have ever owned. It was getting 32 miles per gallon on the highway and 26 in the city. I had 126,000 miles on it when I was rearend on January 25, 2003. I loved the car so much I purchase my second Intrepid 2 weeks ago - the ES model fully loaded. This vehicle is magnificent with the bigger engine and leather interior.

Strength:

Roominess, handling in snow and ice(I can't get the back end to come around and I try), comfort. Past experience with other Dodges is that the dealership may not be helpful but a phone call to Chrysler is(i.e. I had 56000 miles on my Stratus when the head gasket went out, called Chrysler and had it fixed for $100 out of my pocket).

Weakness:

Resale value.

I bought this vehicle with 27000 miles on it and it now has 65000 on the 2.7 engine. It has ran great from day one with very few problems. I have had to put two new tires on and will need to have the struts replaced. I am actually disappointed by the lack of problems since I bought the extended warranty. The car averages 25+ miles/gallon on the highways and has great accelleration going up the mountains. There is enough room for three kids in the backseat to make it through a 20 hour drive and enough trunk space to make it 2 weeks from home. Only problem is the resale. Not a good investment for someone who want to trade cars every three years, buy this for the long term and skip on any mitsubishi engines.
