Fun to drive Great looking car Spacious Interior Good gas mileage
Weakness:
Doesn't corner well Bad in the snow Very low to the ground From the first time I test drove this vehicle I was in love! The first week I owned the car, I had major problems with the car's electrical system that my mechanics couldn't pinpoint and it kept quitting on me on the side of the road. Thank goodness for warranties!! Despite this, I would still reccommend this car to anyone thinking about purchasing one. Mine has a custom, tone-on-tone paint job with tinted windows, custom hubcaps and rear spoiler that make this car very eye-catching. There are few around on the road, so I am constanly being asked what kind of car I drive and I recieve tons of compliments on the car's looks. People can't believe it is as old as it is! The interior's leather seating is very comfortable and easy to clean and care for. Surprisingly, the car's backseat is bigger than you'd think and will seat three adults in relative comfort. And the trunk is huge, with handy back-seat access. And the stereo system is great! The car drives very smoothly. Sometimes acceleration can be a little slow but it drives great once you get going and will stop on a dime. The V6 2.5 litre engine is very powerful, at least powerful enough for this girl! I feel very safe in this car since it is sturdy and there is so much car. And I absolutely love to drive this car, it is definately fun to drive . . . and to drive fast! I used to hate driving, but now that I have this car I could not enjoy driving more. I will drive this car until the day it dies, and that will be a very sad day! |

The car is absolutely beatiful. I've only had it for a week and I've already had several people ask about it. There's not very many, so it stands out in a crowd. The interior is very roomy, especially for a two door. You can actually fit two, perhaps even three people in it! Very large trunk. The seats are very comfortable and easily adjusted. It has a great all around sporty look, especially with the spoiler. I feel safe in it, I have a lot of car around me. Still getting used to the length but I feel like I'm driving something that will protect me in a wreck. I don't care what anyone says--that V6 may be pulling a lot of heavy, long car, but it WILL go. Takeoff isn't superfast, but as I said, it will definitely go. I was pretty impressed after reading other reviews about how slow they were, but it's just enough power to have a little fun without going overboard. Comes with a factory CD player, but it's not bad at all. The speakers are great. I would give this car a 10.
Weakness:
As I stated before, it is a pretty big car. You have to get used to driving something so large. Turns are a little rough because it's so big, but all cars are different and eventually you get used to driving it. The main problem with mine is I wish it was black =) This is my first car and I absolutely love it. It's a dusty gold with factory rims and a beautiful flawless interior. The car was wrecked on the side pretty bad.. they had to replace the driver's door and repaint the car. It has 46,000 miles on it and runs perfectly. I bought it at a "buy here, pay here" place and I feel lucky to have it for $600 down and $240/month, while my friend is driving a beat up 92 Camaro for $200/month. =) I've been looking for one of these, and I finally found one. It's the perfect car for anyone looking for enough sport and power to please but not rack up on payments and insurance. Similar Products Used: 97 Nissan Altima 99 Mercury Cougar 2000 Ford Mustang |

Good fuel mileage, looks are very strong for an older car. brakes are good, handling is good. Sound systems are very easy to put in these cars and work well with the cars design.
Weakness:
wimpy 4cyl 5 spd or not. optional slow V6. needs at least a 3.3L with a durable trans. which chrysler lacks still to the day.Turning radius too large. ground clearance a little low I like the Avenger very much, it has appeal and I get a majority of compliments from its looks and style people think this car is less than a year old.and it has 168,000 miles on it. Dodge did a good job in its design and options available on this model, I think a 3.3L would have been a better choice for a V6. Rare car that looks awesome. Mine is perfect. What more can I say.
Weakness:
Headlight covers but I just ordered the Smoke ones so problem solved. Brakes squeak although they are new. Center console squeaks when I rest my arm on it. Yeah, that's it. I bought the car from the original owner who took excellent care of it.62,000 mi. on it and it drives like it's brand new.No problems at all{ for him,or me} I keep reading all these horror stories but I love my car. If you abuse your ride you'll pay for it.{literally}I have the V6 and although it does not do wheelies it does just fine for me.I really like the O/D button on the shifter. It allows for me to control the power a little more since I can't shift it manually. This car is a joy to drive and handles great, espcially with the 17" wheels. Also it looks great and I'm not driving the same car as everyone else. These babies are rare and I like that. Similar Products Used: 94 Dodge Intrepid 94 Dodge Intrepid |

Looks and performance.
Weakness:
To change the sparkplugs turns into a real project because 3 of them are hidden inside the engine. O2 sensor goes out way too much. Suspension can't take on big potholes expecially with bigger than factory wheels. A tune up will cost $$$$ because everthing is so hard to get at! Other than all that it is a great car. Nice car to drive, looks great with rims on. Good performance out of the V6. All around a pretty good car. Similar Products Used: 91 Eagle Talon TSI |

Very good steering!!! Haha, I cannot stress that enough!! It has a very large back seat for a coupe (usually they're tiny) and it has a HUGE trunk, which is very convenient.
Weakness:
I did have 1/3 of the transmission go bad on me...I don't really know how only a 1/3 can go bad but yeah...there ya go...I really can't think of hardly anything I don't like about this car...oh yeah, one thing, backing up, it's a bit hard to see because the back part is so high, but it's not a huge issue at all... Very amazing car. I'm very temperamental about my steering. And the steering in this is very precise...I LOVE IT!!! This car is amazing. It's sporty, it's beautiful, it handles amazingly, it accelerates fast, it's just all around GREAT!! |

I dont think i can fit 'em all...beauty, sexiness, guys all wanna drive my car, awesome sounds when the engine is reving, GREAT speakers, plenty of room both in the car and trunk, no real complicated problems, uniqueness, really fast after about 4 secs(which really blows away any car that ive raced), people will actually stop next to you at red lights and ask what kind of car it is, beautiful handling, has rough gear changes but i think it just adds to the effect, ect., ect., ect...........
Weakness:
hmmm, nothing too huge that you wouldnt find in any other car, except the headlights fog up, the front suspension isnt that great, it is hard to find cheap rims for the winter for it, many people who own it dont even know that its not even really a dodge product, it actually is made by mitsubishi is youve ever looked at any of the tags, dumb people will argue with you when you say that a mitsubishi eclipse or an eagle talon part will fit your car, dodge has now come out with a butt ugle version of a new "dodge aveger"(couldn't they think of another name? let these sexy baby's rest in peace), it is MAD HARD to find accessories for it, and not much more else Have you seen this car??? Absolutley beautiful and sexy!! Runs great, have not had any major problems yet, turns everyone's head!! I bought a car that i need to be reliable and this one has granted me that. I also wanted something that i wouldnt see at every stop light and it did that for me too. Nobody believes that i didnt spend a fortune on it and everyone thinks i have a system even though theyre still factory. I barley had to buy any hookups cause it looks great as is. I have regular check ups on it and it has 163 thousand miles on it and it still runs like new. This is the best car I have ever driven and it beats other expensive cars in both looks and speed like whoa! |

Small mirrors and it is hard to see over the back when backing up. I own one of these cars in a sport version and it is one of the smoothest riding small vehicles I have ever driven and I wouldnt trade it in even for my friend's Trans Am Similar Products Used: Ford Cougar, Pontiac Firebird, Pontiac Gran Prix, Chryseler Sebring, and Chevy Cavalier. |

I have already replaced my transmission, both control arms. I have replace the fuel pump relay 3 times now. And now my exhaust system is shot and going to cost a fortune to replace. My power windows and sunroof work when they feel like it. My power locks only work on the drivers side. I'm sure there is more that I am forgetting. Everything on this car is ridiculosly expensive! Down to the chrome-capped lug nuts (that you can't even see because there are wheel covers). I just paid $350 for a wheel. Mechanics hate working on it. You have to lift the engine to change the back 3 spark plugs. You have to take off the bumper to change a fog light. |

Strength:
Engine power above 4000 RPM. The smooth accurate shifter. The strong and compliant brakes. The excelent gas mileage (I got 30 city and 38 highway). The nice, sporty body style. The roominess of the back seat.
Weakness:
No torque in the lower RPMs. Idle is a little rough. Headlight lens covers fog up very easily. Steering feels very heavy at 30-50 mph. It is a very nice overall car. It handles very well, and feels very secure on the road. It also is a very nice looking car, which recieves many looks on the street. The best part of the car, beside its good looks is its drivetrain. Even with the 2.0 liter Inline four it is very quick. Unfortunately the 2.5 V6 only came hooked up to an automatic transmission, so the 2.0 is probably a better choice if you want it to be fun to drive. Since the V6 only makes 23 horsepower more than the I4 there really is no difference in acceleration because the V6 is hindered by the automatic transmission. With the 5 speed manual the shifting is superb. The shifter is very light because of the hydraulic assist, it clicks firmly into each gear, and has nice short throws. The shifter is not at all rubbery. Overall the Avenger is a very good car for those who seek good looks, above average performance, and don't want to spend too much money.
