Well, i know this is getting redundent, but...the car looks great! The styling of this car really demands you to take a second and third look... great for just cruising and getting attention..... The top speed on the car is awesome. Driving down the freeway, the amount of effort it takes to get from 60 to 100 mph is just awsome! You dont realize you're going that fast until you look at the panel. Smoothest ride I've been in for a long ass time!

Weakness:

The engine is WEAK! From the looks of the car, you'd think it had more to offer....but alas, this is just another example in how looks can be deceiving. Havent really had problems as extreme as those that were mentioned by other people. Just routine oil jobs and stuff.
The nose is ridiculously low - take real care is hitting those bumps and high driveways...

Everywhere I take it, heads just turn!! If you like to drive, you should definitely check this car out. It handles like a dream on the highway - weaving in and out of traffic is definitely what this car was made to do. The ride is so smooth that its even got my dad hooked. He said he wanted to take it out to run a couple of "errands". Next thing I know, I'm standing in front of a friend's house, and I see my car just turn the corner at 40 mph and just fly down the street...!!! Pretty funny sight to see my dad driving like that.
The car is definitely reliable - gets from point A to point B with some definite style. Would reccommend this ride to anyone!!!

I am a 16 year old who is so proud of my car I could scream. The Dodge Avenger blows the Eclipse,Camaro, and all the others out of the water. The Avenger Sport is 10x's the car! I also enjoy the Infinity speakers. I also love that no one knows what my car is. The V-6 engine totally rocks. Black and Leather is the best way to go.

Looks Nice, the main reason I decided to purchase an Avenger was because of its unique styling. Its a big, roomy, sporty looking car, thats what really caught my eye at first.

Weakness:

Performance - slowest car I have ever had.
Stupid front bumper - I have had to replace or fix the darn thing about four times now.
Transmission - slips every once in a while, had to replace entire thing not too long ago.
Engine began loosing compression so I had to replace.

You know all in all I can say that I hate my car, i hate it with every being in my body. Its one of the worst cars I have ever had, there hasnt been a day thats gone by that I havent has some sort of problem with that car. I originaly bought the car to custom and fix up, but with all the problems its had I have never had that chance or the monety for that matter. But yet for some reason I find myself attached to my Avenger, several times I have tried to sell it numerous times by I cant seem to do it. Darn Avenger Curse!!!

The car runs GREAT!!! Ive put on 132,000 miles on a the 4cyl and never had any major problems with the car. Ive only had to fix a few annoying things and the normal stuff.

Weakness:

The breaks are Crappy, but there rear disc breaks which isn't the best to have :). The breaks do wear out easily. The car vibrates when going over 75 Mph, but i think thats the computer ?....

oh yea, for all those who said it was an American Piece of Crap, um... Look on the side of the door, MADE BY MITSTUBISHI, the car is 99% exact to a Eclipse, just the exterior looks different, this is a good car and they sell pretty cheap.

styling, the only reason I bought the car was because it looked cool. It's roomy and has a big trunk for all my 12"s.

Weakness:

Brakes warp, check engine light is anoying, transmition went out at 63,000mi. no power, unless you have the money for upgades. stock wheels and tires suck. the interior fell apart, and the seats broke!!

I would go with a civic if I were u, a lot more dependable!

Very good handling. Very fast for only being a 2.0. The style is a good one from dodge. (Having similar style as the stealth) Everything is in perfect proportion to me in the driver seat, meaning it’s not too big and yet is still not small in the front.

Weakness:

The worst quality that I have experienced is the transmission problems. I had to replace it three times with used ones before I put in a rebuilt transmission. One word to you is if you’re having problems, get a rebuilt so that the problem is fixed.

I miss the raw power that a larger engine would have, but the over-all speed is remarkable. I know. I've gotten up to 130 before I decided I was going too fast, but the car could keep going. The recommended tires are rated H, for speed and handling. (I wonder why?) If I knew what I knew about the transmission in the beginning, then this car would be even more of an eye catcher on the road. I find is to be worth my money.

Model Reviewed: Avenger ES 2.5L V6

Strength:

Appearance~Inside and Out. Roomy for a two door sport coupe. Large trunk.

Weakness:

Poor Transmission. Expected more power/pickup from a V-6. The Goodyear Eagle RSA16 tires are horrible...not a smooth ride and not safe. Too many problems within two years of ownership.

Would NEVER buy Dodge/Chrysler again. Within the first 2 days of owning this car I had to bring it back and forth to the dealership for a week because the Check Engine light kept going on, the alignment starting going off to the right after a couple of days of driving and the muffler made noise.

Transmission is poor. The Goodyear Eagle RSA tires, which are an upgrade, perform terribly. The tires do not make you feel safe at all. Brakes are weak. Even after having new brake pads put on, I still have to press the brake pedal to the floor to get a reaction. Engine has a constant hum. The piece where the windshield wiper fluid shoots out always pops up off the hood on the drivers side so the fluid shoots at the bottom of the window and doesn't get the window clean. The trim around the moon roof always pops out of place.

I know several people who own or have owned the Dodge Avenger, Dodge Durango, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Ram, Chrysler Sebring. All say the same thing about the poor transmission. Check engine lights seem to go on when the car is still fairly new. ?!? Alignment is off (on a brand new car?!?) Every person I know with an Avenger has had problems with the Goodyear Eagle RSAs.

One person had 4 blow-outs within two years of owning the Avenger. I have had two blow-outs(not flats, blow-outs)within 1 1/2 months of eachother with only 35,000 miles on the car. We pulled over the other day to help a girl in an Avenger change a blow-out. The tires are expensive to replace as well.

The Avenger is not made for short people (5'1"). The bucket seats in the front don't raise very high and the back end of the vehicle is high so it makes it difficult to check your blind spot. I should have realized that when I bought it but didn't.

Bettenhausen Dodge of Tinely Park IL has the worst Customer Service and Service Department I have ever dealt with and I've heard the same from 4 other people who have gone there. Chrysler Corporation isn't any better with their Customer Service. This car was a lemon and the Lemon Law is so twisted...if the same problem isn't fixed by the seventh time around then it's declared a lemon. What kind of consumer protection is that?

Acceleration, Braking, Pedal Feel, Supportive Seats, Great Looks, Clutch, Engine, Quietness.

Weakness:

Have found none to speak of.

I have had this car for about 7 months now. I have the V6 with the 5-speed and R/T package. I get decent gas mileage, I enjoy the quietness of the ride as well as the phenominal kick in the pants, and have never seen a better looking car. The Avenger suffered from some major ailments that have been solved in this latest version of Dodge and Mitsubishi engineering. I look forward to putting this car through its paces and coming up with a real winner.

Strength:

I love this car its my baby, I have owned it for a year, and 2 months now, and it has many strengths. It looks cool, it has lots of torque, it is very fast for a 2.5liter v-6, this car has some power. Handles the road good, and easy to go around turns while going fast, nice stock speakers (Infinity Gold), lots of room for a sports car, big trunk. Thats about all I think. One last thing, this car has a five star rating for everything that gets rated, and it was also had the highest safety, ratings over anyother car under $30,000.00

Weakness:

I really dont see any problems with the car, and I have never had problems with it, and mine has 68,000 miles, it still runs like a charm.

I love my car, its my baby. I love driving it, i love looking at it, and I haven't found one person that says they don't like the looks of the Avenger, and Im sorry that Crysler quit making it, cause it was there best car. This car is for the people that want a nice looking sports car such as a mustang, vette, or camaro, but cant afford them, like me!!!

Weakness:

its a piece of crap...after 13 paint jobs, a new tansmission, new driver and passenger door seals and doors i'm spending $49.95 and $30 for a baseball bat and three stick of dynamite (from a friend) respectively so I can do what I have always wanted to do my car...beat the crap out of it and after I'm done...I'll blow the hell out of the rest...
I had all of two months enjoyment out of this car...never again will I buy a dodge or any other american made car. Not to mention spend $8.85 for a replacement plastic screw...what a waste of money...

I have hated it from day one after I had the 3rd paint job put on because the retards at the dealership hired ANOTHER RETARD who didn't know how to buff a car when they cleaned it up for you to drive home...
