Let me see, would I ever buy a Daewoo again? My Daewoo, tires gone bad at 14 K miles, front breaks went bad at 16K miles (told that the calipers are sticking in the braking position even when I’m not breaking!) door handles have been replaced 3 times due to pealing, sun room sticks when closing Daewoo says they can’t get it to do it, sun visors have been replaced twice, if you drive it for more than an hour and turn the car off it does not restart for about 3 minutes (this one is a real problem that Daewoo says that can't fix without driving the car for an hour or so to see if it happens) break swith has gone bad twice (which caused the car to stick in park and then you have no break lights, clicking from under the dashboard when breaking (which we were told was something to due with the break switch setting) high pitch sound from fuel line when the gas is floored, and on Saturday I changed the spark plugs because my check light had come on and I found oil filling half of the #4 cylinder. I just took in and they said that patched the oil leak but could not fix it correctly due to the inability to get parts from Daewoo. I’m so glad I’m spending $279 per month on this piece of junk! Once we get out from under the loan this puppy is promptly getting traded in on a REAL car!

Weakness:

bad parts put on the car to begin with

I bought this car new and I enjoyed it the first couple of months. There was a bad part put on the ac unit and I had to make 4 trips to the service department befor they could determine waht was wrong. The car is 2 years old and already the cup holder, visor mirror and other part put on are broken. All this I could deal with. Last week coming off vacation the car quit on me in the middle of the interstate. I found out that the timing belt had broken, bent the valvues and locked up the motor. This car has only 36,000 miles on it. The dealer nearest where the car quit would not touch the car as far as reparis because I did not purchase if from them my nearest service department was 120 miles away. I will not even get off into the pain, stress and suffering this ordeal has caused me.

Good Gas Mileage, handles well, engine is peppy enough for me

Weakness:

Cup Holder. Lack of repair parts from the Manufacturer. Not knowing what GM is going to do about the warranty offered by Daewoo

This is the first new car I have ever purchased, I paid cash for it. I priced similar cars, but for the price it seemed a really good deal, considering a similar KIA or Hyundai with like features was 3 or 4 thousand dollars more.

Engine hasn't failed, so far!

Weakness:

Door handles peal everytime I replace then (I have cuts on my fingers because of it). Parts are generic and break easily

I had never before purchased a new car and therefore wasn't too sure on what to look for. I thought I was getting a great deal, the dealership person told me that if I ever needed to get something replaced on the car they would give me a rental car at no charge for the time being. Well, needless to say that never happened! There is no such garantee and the dealership is bad. All they do is give me the runaround everytime I take my car in. They ordered a break light switch my car needed and never called be back. I called them months later to check up on my order and they denied the fact that my car needed anything. My back door window switch is not working and I have to tape my window up in order to keep it closed. This happened to me last year during winter and it took them a good 4 to 5 weeks to order the part and fix it. They said this was a rare case and that it probably wouldn't happen again. Here I am again getting closer to winter and it happened again. I commute to work and if the tape gets moist enough where it peals off I cannot afford to stop in the middle of the freeway (especially when it rains) to tape my window back up. It's has just been an annoying needless experience for me.

Roominess

Weakness:

Warrantees being voided because of the bankruptcy deal. Especially when they are still striving in the UK.

At first I was pretty happy with this car. Even though it needed brakes at 20K, and then tires at around 25K. But now, I have 55K on this puppy and the timing chain has let go. There is not longer any dealers around to service this car. It is going to cost me around $3,000, and I was told it is an inherent problem that when the timing chain breaks, the pistons get pinched, and then you need a motor overhaul. I am not a happy camper. I bought this car new, so I felt I could easily get 5 years or better with just minor repairs. I think my next car, I will go back to Toyoto's.

Not sure what that may be anymore

Weakness:

-hate that cup holder -brakes wear way too fast -because of bankrupcy situation at Daewoo, only get into accidents where your car can be totaled

I have enjoyed driving this car very much. There were a few simple trips to the dealer for oil leaks, check engine light, door handle peeling and brakes. I was dealing with these simple irritations until now...A so called "MINOR" accident. The estimate...$2500.00 and 8 days to repair. 6 WEEKS LATER...my car is still at the shop. Still waiting for fender to come in because of Daewoo's bankrupcy situation. Currently, the dealer is looking for a used fender to recondition and put on my car so that I can actually get my car back. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!! I once thought that I had a dependable car...now, when I finally get my car back...I'll pray that I don't get into any minor accidents!!!!

~CUPHOLDERS!!!!!!! Everytime i hit a bump my radio turns off!!!!!! ~Dents easily

When my '85 Cavelier broke down for its final time i begged my parents for a new car, but we didn't have the money to do it. A friend of the family showed us his daewoo leganza and i was hooked. within 1 day and a half of the break down we headed to the dealership. At 17, i needed something affordable but worth the price! my parents were willing to help with the down payment but i was expected to make my own payments. upon going to the dealership i saw a diamond blue nubira and i knew i had ot have it. that day after much negotiation i drove out of there with my fully loaded nubira cdx... equipped with everything but a sunroof. The nubira drives wells and is equipped beyond belief not to mention it looks awesome!!! it is great for a variety of ages... i have since, bought a bra for my car and had custom striping done. The only maintenence problem so far has been my cd player. the dealership replaced that in a week i love my car!!!!!!!!

Size is wonderful. Not too small, not too big. Lots of head and leg room IMO. Looks and feels like a luxury, with the price of an economy. College students take note: You could fit an entire dorm room in the trunk! Quiet, and very responsive. I LOVE my car!!!

Weakness:

Gas mileage is a little lower than I'd prefer. The cup holder. When the worst thing that everyone can agree on is something so trivial... That's not really so bad a thing, is it...?

FANTASTIC value! I purchased a previously leased FULLY loaded CDX with about 25k miles for a little less than I paid for the 93 Nissan Sentra I purchased 4 years ago. Beautiful car, my friends keep telling me it looks like a Lexus. Only problem I've had was a non-working CD player, dropped by the dealership and had a factory replacement in about a week...

Handles very well. Great value.I get so many compliments on my cute little car, but no one knows what it is!!! I get 30 mpg highway. The mileage is not that much different than the Toyota. As for Toyota, they are great when under warranty. When they are not, it $100 to lift the hood. O love all the standard features, dash board is well appointed. I like it.

Weakness:

Those blinking cup holders!!! Whose idea was that????? They are not well placed and the gear shift rubs against it

Ok, I had no intention of buying a Dawoo. None whatsover. I had not purchased a car in over 10 years. Needless to say, I had a bad case of sticker shock.I am a price shopper.I didn't want a car payment the size of my mortgage. I purchased the 2001 model new and I LOVE the car!!! All the bells and whistles for the price of a used car. Love the warranty. The dealership is great. Also had service at local First Team Auto Mall. Service there was great as well. The car handles very well, 4000 trouble free miles so far. just had my first oil change a few weeks ago. Just a note, was told not to use aftermarket oil filters. For some reason they don't work so well on the Daewoo.

Good pep, Beautiful Car-lots of compliments, Can turn around on a dime,Great sterio system- my 15 year old JAMS! Great for older couple for grocery store and small trips. ROOMY and can haul a load. TRUST ME I HAVE! (maybe that's why I need Back shocks),Fun car to drive in curves.

Weakness:

Cruise control, all shocks, the dreaded cupholder, windows fog up excessively, needs lever for seat instead of cranks. Very poor resale value. LOOOOOOOOOONG wait for parts!! 3 sets of wiper blades and keep it parked under carport??Only 40,000 miles on it.

Car is not what expected! Trade-in value is only $5,500. (lost $ 11,000.!! in 2 years)A Daewoo dealer to boot! will make excellent buy for next owner! Have had lifters on hatchback replaced at 6 months, Cruise control out for a year now and dealer keeps saying it's something else every visit in-still no cruise after 4 attempts! Vacation travel was pain because have bad back and couldn't relax hip and leg because had to keep up with traffic..madening!! Runs Rough at idle, dealer says "they all do" but what does a 'girl' know. Engine takes a 'breath' whenever it wants to and about gives me whiplash but Quickly recovers. Car has rattle in dash.
