Strength:

It gets me to work, most of the time

Weakness:

This is by far the WORST car i have ever driven! It sucks!!! I dont know what I was thinking when i bought a Daewoo???!??!? This car is slow, i used to be able to pass trafic in my Neon Sport, now frickin Diesels towing construction equipment pass me and theres nothing i can do about it!!! My power windows dont work on the passenger side, neither does the power door locks so i have to reach over and unlock the door to let my girlfriend in every time =(

I paid $12,000 for my daewoo, used w/ 23k miles. IT SUCKS! Buying this car was the worst mistake of my life! I thought I'd get a Daewoo cause I've never heard of this company before and none of my friends had either... what an idiot mistake. I only wish some other sucker would come buy this car off me =(

Dodge Neon Sport, '98 -- This car is awesome!! But i wrecked mine, if dodge would build it with more comfortable seats and less wind noise i would have bought another one.

Chevy Cavalier '93 = This car was quite a piece of work, i only paid 4 grand for it in 95 but i have had to replace nearly everything. New head gasket, water pump, alternator, starter, two wheel-berings, and I've had to have transmition work done. But this car was faster then my Daewoo piece-of-crap and the power door locks didn't go out till I had past 100k miles.

Strength:

Value. Car comes loaded with standard features. Plenty of power for a car its size. The 2.0 liter engine and automatic transmission have been flawless performers thus far. The seating is very comfortable and low, with ample head and leg room throughout the cab for even tall drivers and passengers. The seats are firm and supportive, but not designed for, er, the weight challenged. The upgraded stereo with CD player and six speakers is awesome, comparable to many aftermarket units.

With free 3 year/36,000 mile routine maintenance and roadside assistance thrown in to sweeten the deal, you'll be hard pressed to find an easier to maintain car.

Weakness:

Dashboard ergonomics. Some controls are awkward, in particular the ignition key is hard to find, the windshield wiper control is "upside down" and the cruise control is not user-friendly. Also, the cruise control lacks the ability to keep the car at a constant speed on anything but a level road... this is even stated in the owner's manual. The horn is activated by two small pads on either side of the steering wheel... good luck finding them quickly! The horn itself is weak, but easily replaced as I have done already.

The sunroof control is a one-rocker switch affair and takes a while to master. The sunroof operation is on the slow side, taking roughly eight seconds to open or close fully.

Lack of aftermarket parts and accessories makes upgrading or replacing parts difficult. This should change over time as the Daewoo brand becomes popular, which I believe it will.

And finally, Daewoo's sales tactic of one-price selling (ala Saturn) has got to go. Although the dealer was very generous with my trade (read: he gave me four times what it was worth) to make up for it, this will steer many potential car buyers away, especially those first-time buyers who do not have a trade in. And this, in my opinion, is the market where the Daewoo should excel.

$15,255 (Invoice). I would recommend this car to anyone seeking good value for the money. The car is not as well built as other imports, but VERY close. It lacks the historical reputation to fall back upon in the United States, although I read that Daewoo has been in the car business elsewhere for some time. The Daewoo Nubira offers more than just solid transportation... if you didn't know what brand it was, you would swear you were driving an upscale Nissan or Toyota. Dismiss the lack of aftermarket products and accessories and smallish (but growing) dealership network. Like the first Toyotas and Nissans, these will dissappear as the car catches on in the U.S.

I also own a 2000 Hyundai Elantra, which has slightly more horsepower and the dash controls are more ergonomic. The two are comparable feature to feature with the exception of the 4 wheel disc anti-lock brakes, which the Hyundai does not have, and the rear spoiler, which Daewoo does not even offer. The Hyundai warranty is the kicker... 10 years/100,000 miles. Between the two, Hyundai is the winner, but not by too much.

Paid $15k for it fully loaded and yes I would recommend the car to anyone. They cant be beaten for price!
I like the way it handles, even at high speed. It is quiet. The dealers are good to you and cover the car for 3 years including free servicing, which I really like.

wheel covers, door handles, noises in the driver seat and the radio is very poor quality and the speakers too

i have experience wiyh daewoo for 5 years because daewoo is very popular in another countrys but i never had a nubira II i had before a daewoo racer and later cielo i thing so those cars no have any problem becouse they used old technology in those cars 4 cylinders and 8 valves engines, mono point inyecction with standar transmicion and also in south america daewoo is like lincoln in usa becouse they are the most bigger providers of taxis there, with daewoo cielo and now with the tico and lanos supertaxi.
we have to keep going with daewoo becouse they have more models and they have european style and german engines and japanises transmmicions.
daewoo is much better than hyunday and kia becouse they have parnership with daimer benz and gm and this is the better presentation for all around the world friends please don't stop to buy daewoo becouse we want to have daewoo for a long time in north america this cars go to have the most populars cars in america i hope.
thanks for chossing daewoo. i'm a daewoo first fan

Strength:

Nice power, roomy inside and trunk space, best quality for the money, great design and look. I like the security features.

Weakness:

CUP HOLDERS!!! They are in the worse possible spot, gas mileage per gallon, horn won't alert a fly

I love it! At first I wanted to get a Hyundai, but they were VERY poor at selling a car to me. I checked out other manufacturers, but I didn't want a high car note, so I went to Daewoo, just 'looking'. I think, that if they stick around in the US, I will be a loyalty buyer.

I used to have a 92 Taurus, but, since I was moving to the suburbs, I wanted a more reliable car, with a low note.

Strength:

Great gas mileage. Lots or zip. Handles the road well. Comfortable to drive. Great value for the price. Nice family sedan.

Weakness:

The cup holder interferes with the gear shift a little, but I can live with it.

I wanted a new car without a high car note. I went to the Daewoo dealership at the recommendation of a friend. The experience was wonderful.
The Nubira caught my eye right away. It is a nice size 4-door sedan. It had all the features of a much more expensive car. However, the test drive sold me. I was used to driving a 6 cylinder auto. I was sure that a 4 cyclinder would be slow on the take off. Wrong!! This little car zipped from 0 to 60 in seconds. I was so impressed I told the salesman, "I'll take it".

Similar Products Used:

I owned a mercedes benz, a mercury cougar, and a chevy lumina. The Nubira has a nicer feel to the road than all of them. Great car!
