Strength:

Dependable!!!!!

Weakness:

To much plastic - plastic breaks to easy.

I love my car! It never left me stranded anywhere. My only problem was that the plastic door handle fell off, but as for service, it's great! I do bring my car to get regular check-ups which is good. She takes care of me and I take care of her.

Strength:

Reliability. Construction. Gas Mileage.

Weakness:

Shaky and noisy at high speeds. I definitely would not recommend for somebody who does a lot of highway driving.

I bought this car when my wife was pregnant with our daughter. I had just totaled my previous car, Honda Civic, and was desperate for another vehicle. I didn’t want to pay a lot, but I didn’t want to sacrifice quality either. That’s when I found my Prizm. It had 19,000 miles on it and I already knew that it was essentially a re-skinned Toyota Corolla. I took a chance on it and needless to say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve now had the car for 5 ½ years and it’s yet to give me any problems, although I did have to replace the starter at 40,000. It’s the car that I brought my daughter home from the hospital in and the car that moved my new family and I into our first apartment, and then eventually into our first home, so I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it due to this emotional attachment. I now have 85,000 miles and still no problems, whatsoever.

Strength:

Pickup Reliablility

Weakness:

Starter at 90,000

I bought the 1.8 litre LSI model. I have 116,000 miles on it. The car is dependable and the 1.8 litre gives it some zip. The metallic black paint is still glossy. It has been a great car

Strength:

- Great on Gas - Durable - Reliable

Weakness:

- Not very stylish - Handling could use some work

This car did the trick. I got it as a gift from my parents back in high school (1995) and at the time I wasn't too thrilled because it WAS a Geo and not cool at all. I was fortunate enough to get a sunroof and the 1.8 litre engine so the car does have a little style and some kick (well, for a Geo). True, it never turned any heads, but it's always been damn good on gas and at almost 150,000 miles, she still runs great (even through all of these New England winters!). Never had any major mechanical problems, no rust, no body defects. Everything works just as good as the day I bought it...and trust me, I put this car through the ringer. It still has pretty good pickup and top highway speeds of over 90mph. All and all...a very reliable car. It's never, ever broken down. It could probably go another 50K without any major issues. Anyway, after driving it for 8 years I think it's time to move on to something a little more stylish and quick...but I can honestly say that I will miss my little green sedan. Hell...I may even write a song and dedicated it to her...stay tuned!

Strength:

Fuel economy (Hi 30's). Seating for a larger person (I'm 6'). Performance is good, with the manual transmission (this 1.8L engine will rev!) Transmission shifts well, nice for a front wheel drive. Trunk is reasonable size, I can fit the snow board and boots and poles in!

Weakness:

Handling is a weakness but not horrible. Styling is decent and not a trend-setter.

I bought the car new and it is doing exactly what I bought it for, economy and reliability with the ability to seat 4 to 5 people if needed. If you looking for a modest car with these characteristics, look no further. THIS CAR HAS MANY BASIC STRENGTHS AND NO STRONG WEAKNESSES. I have added a hitch for a small trailer, and a roof rack for skiis. The add-on alum. wheels I bought for $300 really helped styling.

Strength:

ice cold AC, attractive interior & reliability

Weakness:

Electrical: lights on dash, interior roof, and on shifter were CONSTANTLY going out. A little loud and shakey at speeds over 65 mph. Brakes have been replaced several times after 65,000 miles.

This was such a WONDERFUL college car for me! I've had this car since 40,000 miles and it is now at 101,000 miles... still running beautifully!

Strength:

Gas mileage, handles and drives okay

Weakness:

Overrated reliablity reputation

The car drives well enough and I bought a lightly used one to replace a Neon that had been having a lot of problems. HOWEVER, the transmission failed at 38,000 miles and had to be replaced. Fortunately, GM covered the trans but is giving me all sorts of resistance to re-imbursing me for a rental car that I had to have for the 2 weeks that it took them to replace the transmission. Now, the light for the parking brake randomly comes on. Maybe this really isn't such a reliable vehicle.
