Strength:

Performance and gas mileage

Weakness:

brakes

Nice car but disappointed that the brake pads and rotors are gone at 30,000 miles.. warranty will not cover. Also, speed 1 & 2 of heater fan went out but was covered by warranty (at least this time).

Strength:

Style, gas milage, options better than most cars in class

Weakness:

Power at times, interior style.

The Malibu LS is very stylish. This four door sedan with 3.1 V-6 engine has electronic overdrive and great power availibility. Hit the gas and feel the power. Although when you are not flooring the gas, it may appear to have a lack of power, but all you have to do is press harder and voom you're gone. As for handeling when traveling at a high rate of speed and curving on the interstate it seems as though you may loose control of the car (Test was on I-680 in Omaha going 68 on a 50 MPH curve) However when swerving to avoid and accident this car impressed me. The front disk rear drumb ABS was also a major plus. The interior is simple but elegant. AC Delco's 6 speaker CD/Tape combo with graphic equalizer has a fair/good rate making it better than most Chevy factory systems. Also remote keyless entry, alloy wheels and spolier make my car look and feel worth the price. As far as matainance goes only oil changes and break pads have been replaced. She now has 90,000 miles. Over all The Malibu beats QAccord and Altima in this testers opinion. Good Buy. Has features Accord and Altima do not have (automatic lights, smart light system)

Strength:

Spunky Motor, roomy for mid-size.

My Malibu has been a wonderful car. At 136,000 miles I have only had to replace the alternator and that is all. I would definetely buy a Malibu again.

Strength:

Looks. Roominess for a small car. Appeared reasonably priced at the time

Weakness:

Everything I put in my review.

Fuel pump needed to be replaced at 42000 miles, what a joke. Now I have a theft light problems which makes me guess when my car will start. If it doesn't start I have to wait ten minutes and try again. I have been to two mechanics, and they can't figure it out. If I go to the dealer, I imagine they will want my arm and leg to pay for it. I will also add, I needed new brakes after 22500 miles.

Strength:

the autotheft, the seats, and the style.

Weakness:

no get up and go. tires wore to fast.

We bought our 2000 Malibu in Aug of 2001,sold as a salemans demo, with 22,624 miles on it. The coolant light was always coming on, but checked and found no leaks, regular 3-6 months maintance, always found no problems, once the factory warranty was up, the life of the malibu was up. In Nov. of 2003 we spent 2,500.00 $ for a new coolant system. The car shimmy's after 35mph and hitting the brakes, no warranty for it, the Extended warranty? did cover 450.00 and covered 1 day of a rental. We will never buy a new car that has a Chevy Logo on it.

Nice size. Peppy motor.

Weakness:

Cup holder in way of knee on driver's side. Can get wet or burned if used. Where are those parking lights? Two holes look silly on reg. Malibu. Lights on LS look good.

A definite do not buy. Brakes and rotors at 40,000 km (24,000 mi.) and now again at 69,000 km (42,000 mi.) Firestone Affinity tires lasted 24.000 mi. with no warranty from dealer. GM has lots of room to improve!! Major trans. and motor leaks. Last GM for me.

rather uncomfortable, small gas tank, accelaration

I absolutely love my Malibu. I had a Nissan Maxima, which was a money pit! The Malibu has given me no problems, but after reading these reviews, I am hoping that I do not run into these problems. It seems to me, as a psychologist, that there must be an extraneous variable causing these cars to mess up. (i.e. a lead foot owner, abuse, lemon, etc.) But I love mine thus far.

Strength:

this car has no strengths. it is not even drivable. it spends the majority of its time in the shop.

Weakness:

every thing about it.

I have had problems with this car since i brought it. I had to replace the engine twice. The rotors are bad. the brakes were very bad. the car makes lots of strange noise. My fuel pump needs to be replaced. The speakers bust; all four of them. The cd player will not play my discs; it just spits them back out. I would advise anyone who owns a chevy malibu to get rid of it. Anyone who is considering buy one, please don't this car is nothing but trouble. The dealership often charge you a arm and a leg for their parts, and no other part store carry the parts, so you have to pay these ridiculous prices for these parts. i would advise anyone not to buy this car. it is a piece of trash.

none. and i don't think i would use a similar product. i will never buy another car with the name chevy on it again.
