Strength:

Common GM platform (W-body), many aftermarket pieces from Pontiac Grand Prix fit(without the tacky spoilers & lighter weight, too), the least costly to insure, and cops do not take notice of this car.

Weakness:

Sunroof rattle due to a contacted-out wind deflector; dealer has no permanent fix.Low resale-we''ll drive it for atleast 10 years(family gets 13-14 years from our new vehicles)

People can''t believe this car. With only a few modifications to the induction, suspension, and tires our Buick will cut&run like a cheetah.Throw in the finance deal ($295 contract charge) and the inexpensive insurance, hey, great sleeper!

Odometer finally quit

We bought this car in 1990 and it was a 1991. We now have around 240,000 miles and think it may go another 100,000 easy. We have had to make some repairs on it with the fan, alternator and some other small things but that is as with every car you own because of wear and tear. The engine uses NO oil and has no drips. It has guts like you wouldn't believe and still gets around 28-32 mpg. I read a review that said his regal cost him money but every thing he mentioned was wear and tear items. We love our Regal and just bought another 2001 to go with it. I wish the Ford Explorer I have was as quality as my Regals.

Awsome car for the money. Smooth ride and comfort are excellent!

Weakness:

The plastic, bottom of door and glove box to name a few, wears and or scratches easily.

I think this car is "the car" if you drive alot. I think younger people should consider buying buick! You do not have to be tiger woods or even like golf to like this car! I am in my mid 20's and have kids, this HAS to be my sports car, and I am HAPPY with that!

Strength:

Nice handling and power. Roomy and comfortable. Enough extras to keep Inspector Gadget happy. Pretty good gas mileage considering it's age and size. 12 years old and still looks new, and the AC is colder than most new cars.

Weakness:

Weird cup holder, (slides out of the center console) gets in the way of the shifter, I have already dumped about 7 different things all over the console. It also has strange door handles, located on the side like a Barretta, although mine are not broken (yet) It would not take much to break one. The cassette player jams and does not eject the tape properly. The power doorlocks/window/mirror controls are a bit awkward, I always end up moving a mirror instead of rolling the window down.

Although I havn't had it long enough to rate it on a "long haul" basis, I believe that it is a very sturdy and reliable car, and they look good too.
I would recommend this as a "first car" or as an everyday commuter car.
Being a young person I feel that it's luxurious ride and sophisticated looks offer more than the typical teenager cars like Escorts and Cavaliers
While retaining the fast fun to drive and fuel economy of it's smaller, simpler, brethren.

Strength:

engine performance, handling, comfort.

Weakness:

climate controls a bit hard to figure out (haven't read the owner's manual yet).

Bought it mostly for my wife. So far, we really like it. We got every single option. In addition to the supercharged engine, I really like the "Monsoon" sound system, leather seats, and the 16" chrome plated aluminum wheels. I thought the heated seats would be a completely unnecessary option, but they really are nice in cold weather.

Strength:

3800V6 with ample acceleration, silky smooth automatic transmission, quiet, good handling & cornering (with handling package optional on LS),ABS, traction control

Weakness:

fit and finish problems (interior), odd placement for cupholder & center console storage

paid $17,500 w/ 6700 mi. in Jan 1999 from estate. This is an excellent mid-size car with great price/feature value. QUIET. Handles well in all weather, including upper midwest snow & ice. I took the advice of another reviewer and installed a K&N high flow air filter (about $40 at Autozone) for better performance and gas mileage. Immediately noticed smoother idling and better acceleration - not that it was lacking before in either area. This car is very similar to the popular Olds Intrigue, with some differences in suspension and steering. Unless you plan to tear up the corners the Regal is a better value with a little softer ride. Get the performance handling package. It is well worth the money. Wider 16" rims w/quiet Goodyear Eagles and a firm, fun feel of the road.

I've gone through about 6 altenators and many many brake pads!

All around nice car. The 93' LTD's are rare and a nice car for the same price is even rarer! I recomend this car to anyone! Tiger Woods drives one!

Strength:

More than 200,000 miles on it and still running. The transmission was rebuilt, but that was after being stolen,so who knows, it might have still been going hard now. The motor was also rebuilt, after the man that fixed the transmission caused an oil leak which blew the engine. If it weren't for these terrible things happening this car probably have had no problems. Then there's the other maintence work, batteries, head lights, fuses, etc.. Overall A++++++ automobile.

Weakness:

Bad paint job, but in no way does that effect the way the car drives.

Excelent car. This is the way cars are supposed to be. I wanted to use this car until it got to 250,000 miles, never did I dream I would actually make it.
