Strength:

Everything. It had enough room for 2 large carseats in the backseat and then room for 3 large adults to ride comfortably in the front. The trunk was awesome. It had a smooth ride, was easy to work on.

Weakness:

There isn't really anything I didn't like. Nothing major ever went wrong with it.

I got this car in 97, so that would make 9 years old then. It had about 70,000 mi on it then, and i drove it for 3 years and it was 103,000 and still going strong when it was totalled in an accident. But, I was lucky i was in such a strong car!
This is the best car I've ever had.
This is a great car for anyone who travels, goes to school, or has kids. It is the perfect car for anyone........

Strength:

great seats, not so large that you slide around; ride is smooth; "heads up" speedometer in windshield is
wonderful; audio controls on steering wheel are very convenient

Weakness:

emergency brake must be released by pedal, it's not automatic when you put car in gear -- there's no storage
pouch on back of driver & passenger seat -- took FOREVER to get it after ordering

$28,000 and yes, it's great. I ordered A LOT of options
and am very pleased. If you are used to a large luxury car but don't want to pay the price for a new one, this one fits the bill. has many of the features my Caddy's had.

Strength:

The leather bucket seats, they are comfortable and easy to clean. Concert sound 2 is well worth the money. The steering
with controls is great, and the rain sensor for the wipers
is especially nice. The ride is a little soft and springy
but not bad. Gas mileage on the interstate is not up to the
government standard(30 mpg.)we only got 28.9 on a 2400 mile
round trip. The Driver Information Center is a nice feature
but I wonder about cost of repairs.

Weakness:

Our most objectionable was the road noise. I did not seem as
quiet as our old 93 Olds Delta 88. The gas mileage was not as good as we had hoped either. We got 30 mpg on road trips
in our 93 Olds. The gas tank could hold more than 17 gals.
It would allow more miles.

We paid $27 thousand plus, but withour trade and GM card allowance we thought the price was fair.

Strength:

Awesome 3.8L powertrain, powerful, 201k and still going strong, burns no oil, original exhaust (sans cat), low repair costs. Now with all the slop gone from the steering (new steering rack $850), it drives as precise as a new one. It rides nicer and quieter then 75% of the new vehicles available today (I work for one of the Big-3, so I know). No trans problems. I changed the coil pack as a precaution, but experienced no problems before or after. Very solid body and underbody with little care. Great fuel economy 20 city/28 hwy. No course road surface 'roar' as you get in most of today's cars, but more wind noise then today's bars of soap.

Weakness:

I wouldn't call these 'weaknesses' really, just some info...
Steering rack went out at 199k (all the slop in the steering is GONE now), alternator (don't replace it with the same faulty rear-bearing design, and it won't go out again; get the one with a lifetime warranty), water pump (sensitive to normal/proper coolant changes every year, but the pump is $22 and easy to change), fuel filter nuts rust together so it's hard to remove (cover it to protect it), struts last about 75k (I installed Monroe Sensi-Tracks the last time, and I'd recommend them, even though they're a bit stiff, ala Bonneville SSE, in the first 1/3 of their life), CV boots go out occasionally (normal for every FWD car I've ever owned).

I've kept track of all non-maintenance repair costs from 64k to 201k (including many I did that 'reactionary' owners might delay), and it comes out to 4 cents per mile; compare that to 24 cents for a new car's depreciation, insurance, and financing costs!! It's a blast to own this car: to reap the immense cost-savings, to run like a rebel in the face of the "I gotta have a new car because I'm so scared of being stranded" crowd, and the T-Type is kind of rare. It's NOT for sale! Ever!

Strength:

Reliability!!! I have 303,000 miles-original motor, no leaks-original muffler and shocks!!! Comfortable ride, especially with family to haul around. Good acceleration and braking. Excellent value. Excellent motor and transmission.

Weakness:

Not the best handling. The interior is very old compared to today's standards.

This is a wonderful car for the money. It gives you remarkable reliablity-which is most important, and value. If you want a great car for the family-this is the one.

Strength:

The look and the feel of driving the car was excellent. I really enjoy the comfortable interior, the quiet springy ride. It is like driving and riding in my grandmother's car and has room enough for all the kids and a nice roomy trunk for all the gear for their sports.

Weakness:

The car is a LEMON in my book. It started with a little "miss" at about 34k and I took it back to Rhoden and they said it was a spark plug problem and put a new one in. It really never fixed it and I took it to another dealer at 52K and they replaced the water pump, the upper intake manifold gasket, the brakes and rotors and the transmission. This was a total of 4200.00 in repairs at 52,000 miles. Needless to say the car was out of warranty and so far have no response from the Buick customer service people about any compensation.

I had never owned a Buick but had seen this model on the road and thought it had a sophisticated look. The car appeared roomy and comfortable and the sleek design had a nice "down the road" appearance. I bought the car new in 1997 from the Rhoden Auto Sales in Council Bluffs, IA and have taken it back to them for repairs.

Strength:

Very strong built and very spacious!Great concert speakers!

Weakness:

My drivers side(powerwindows)would ocassionaly get stuck while going up.

My husband bought this car for me at a used car lot.We are in our early twenties and at first i didn't think it would be cool for our age group but was extremely roomy and comfortable. We do not have this car anymore it was in a wreck.Someone pulled out in front of us and totaled it.The car that we wrecked with was a foreign car that did not stand up at all.Our well built hood took all the impact. If it hadn't been so well made i think we would have been seriously injured. So my rating for this car is A++++++++++++! I am looking to buy another because of this.

Strength:

Smooth ride, quiet, stereo is fine. Reliable, I've never been stranded,
other than one flat tire. There's lots of room in the backseat.

Weakness:

The transmission had to be rebuilt last year(93,000) Water pump replaced
recently. Struts had to be replaced last year. Master cylinder just replaced. Interior problems(drink holder, sun visor, horn buttons, glovebox latch)Exterior paint flaked at 70,000, bumper covers faded badly.

I've been extremely happy with the LeSabre. It's the best car I've ever
owned. I would highly recommend the LeSabre to anyone. I'm a woman who
has to drive to all airports in L.A.,Riverside and Orange County, at all
times of the day or night, and this car has gotten me wherever I needed
to be for the last 8 years. I have always felt safe. I have 109,000 miles
to date.

Weakness:

TOO ROUND, I MISS THE OLD 1980-1991 Cadillac Fleetwood RWD.

Very LUXURIOUS, I have owned Buicks, and Cadillacs in the past, but none compare to this! The soft grey velour bench seats with the loose cushion look. No confusing guages and needles. Simple straightforward, easy to read horizontal needle speedometer and fuel guage. I love the rich wood accenting. Plush seats. Peppy performance. Classy Looks. I love the front end with the formal grille. Nice wire wheel covers. With every luxury and convenience option ordered, this car beats the 1991 Cadillac Brougham by an inch. I love it. Very fuel efficient. Great trunk space. Not to big, not to small, big car ride and comfort. Compact car owner cost. Never enough good things to say about the 1992 Buick Lesabre Limited.

Similar Products Used:

I had many Buick Electra/Park Aves in the past, not to mention the big Broughams. Those were real cars. They have died with time and poor public taste. 92 Lesabre Limited is the next generation of trhe luxury car.
