Tested @ Mondial de l'automobile in Paris,lefted me speechless, engine noise somptuous, roadholding extra, very aggressive car makes you want to drive very fast.was for sale @ 40.000$.
Now discontinued a days can be found 2nd hand @ 15.000$
Amateur car car the maintenece is pricey

Beautiful body shape, much enhanced by the right alloy wheels. Engine character and power, very assured handling, high-quality leather interior.
For buyers, used cars are available very cheaply in the UK.

Chews through front tyres; very sensitive to wheel alignment.
Rough ride over poor road surfaces, especially with lowered suspension.
Air-conditioning a bit fragile, and has recently failed.
Incomprehensibly poor re-sale value if you bought new (I didn't).

The car has been very reliable, although I have had it properly serviced. But I just love this car for its looks, handling and poise at speed. The engine has a wonderful V6 growl under acceleration but is quiet enough at sustained crusing speeds. The combination of low aerodynamic drag and high power make it feel like it's straining at the leash. Mine sits on lowered suspension and corners like a go-kart. The leather interior is of high quality and is very comfortable. This is my second 164; I owned the older 12-valve model for three years previously.

Previous to my 164's I had a new BMW 520i for 3 years, which was very smooth, stable and comfortable, with beautifully-weighted steering. I enjoyed it but the Alfa has that hard-to-engineer quality called 'soul'. I intend to keep mine for years yet.
