Signature Series
Strength:
Styling, comfort, class, air suspension.
Weakness:
Easy to spin rear tires in slick weather. I usually keep a couple bags of water softener salt in the trunk through the winter. Love my Town Car. Purchased December 2000 with just 60K one careful owner miles. Great ride, lots of room for growing family, loads of class. Drove 1500 miles round trip for Christmas. Stable, safe and comfortable for the entire trip. Love the digital dash and trip computer. Much more luxurious and classier than a minivan - and much less likely to roll over. Couldn''t think of a better family car. Similar Products Used: All previous cars were much smaller. Traded a 95 Escort for this huge Town Car! |

Lincoln TownCar Signature
Strength:
Lots of low end torque for round-the-corner burnouts, and fun in-the-rain rear-wheel drive action... Engine will run forever Good fit-and-finish Great interior
Weakness:
Engine is relatively weak when compared to the competition. Seeing as a good many imports, even equiped with V6 or I6 motors, can reach 60 miles per hour in less than 8 seconds, I think Lincoln needs to address the performance/gas mileage issues. So far this Lincoln seems to be a very nice car. Besides not having real wood trim (not even the 50 thousand dollar Cartier L has real wood), the interior can only be described as lavish. With the 1999 restyle, it''s not near as much a granny-car as it used to be, and things have improved in other areas with the new models as well. Handling is somewhat improved over the older TownCars, and the ride seems to be a bit stiffer with less body roll around the corners. Since Lincolns (especially the TownCar) depreciate quickly, we were able to find a great deal on the 1999. (See Price Above^) Similar Products Used: Lexus GS300, Lexus ES250, Cadillac Seville STS |

HUGE GIRTH. Very cushy and comfortable land yacht. Styling that screams, "Bug off young punk!"
Weakness:
HUGE GIRTH. Boat like handling. Rubberty steering feed back. Air suspention wiggles under your butt in the back seat. Duck tapes everywhere in the engine bay. Many crave performance. Many crave the all might horsepower. Still when all is said and done, after a loooooong ass work day, you KNOW you want to ride in this cushy sofa with 4 wheels. Highly insulated doors isolates you from road/wind noise to punk azz highschool homos with dual 12" woofers in their skank mobile. Ride so cushy and nice, you''ll be hard pressed to believe the speedo reading 90mhp, holy sh1t! time to tap the break. I''m not old. It''s not my car. I wouldn''t buy that car... yet, heheh not for another 50 years or so. Still, the car ain''t what i expected. It''s actually pretty damn good. Specially coming from F0rd. I''ma get a bimmer, preferebly "540i". Bimmer''s BAD AZZ! Still, damn this stupid town car is damn damn damn... good! Similar Products Used: ya right? |

Strength:
smooth ride, comfy seats, good fuel economy for a car of that size, and a lot of cool features like the trunk lide, and a large trunk.
Weakness:
Battery dies often, speed is to isolated, speedometer acts like a polititian, and not enough power. When my grandfather gave me his blue 1990 lincoln Town Car I fell in love with the car right away, my grandpa put in a Pioneer audio system which also included a 12 disc cd changer in the huge trunk. It''s ride is so soft I could almost fall asleep behind the wheel. The car is like a isolation chamber it pretty much does not let me feel the road, and that might cause problems with speed control, because 35 feels like 50 and 70mph. But what disatisfies me is that the Die Hard battery is new but the car still has problems starting sometimes. The keyless remote entry that was insalled was not from the factory, but from the aftermarket. The company is called Autopage, it operates the doors, trunk, and panic button. The trunk in the car is big and I believe that you can fit at least 4-5 people in there without discomforte. The trunk lid has a cool way of closing, it just glides into the place so smothly. Fuel economy is okay for a 5.0 liter V8, but I thought that more power should be there when you need it. The digital speedometer is cool but I think it might be lying. This car is better than a BMW or a Mercedes. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
roomy, plush seats(or leather option), good handling for a big car, old-skool gangsta ride. powerful 302-5.0 torque out the ass!Huge trunk (could fit about 8 bodies in it)And it''s easy to fix.
Weakness:
going down narrow roads sucks, braking at high speeds is very hard. window motor costs $55! parking is a b*tch! No one else has posted a review on an 80''s model towncar. What''s up with that? This car is bad as hell. It might be a litte slow in town, but on the freeway it floats like a boat. It''s like a living room on wheels. And even better, when the roads are wet you can do 360''s like nothing else! Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Best Ride, ride thats quieter than most Rolls Royce's (only 65 DBA @ 70 mph) and a price that is acceptible unlike every other foriegn "luxury" car. Butter-smooth transmission!!!
Weakness:
Needs about 70 more horse power to blow any Cadillac owner right off the road. This is the best luxury car for the money. The only complaints I have are that it does not yet have a stability control system (chalk another point up for Cadillac) and the fact that Cadillac owners can say their car is more powerful (their only true defence). Similar Products Used: 94 Town Car, 97 Town Car (I am an absolute car fanatic and know plenty about pricier foriegn cars and Caddy's and still would buy Lincolns. (Cadillacs are junk and imports are outragiously priced) |

great styling with the dressed up accessories mocktop etc. extreemly quiet interior with outside road noise.factory security system w/keyless combination entry is great. (ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE LOCKED YOUR CAR WITH THE KEYS STILL IN THE IGNITION 4 OR 5 TIMES A YEAR!)
Weakness:
gas mileage could be a little better, also a larger capasity gas tank.does not take extreme potholes and bumps well. brakes seem low PEDAL + longer time to stop.no outside temp info, add duel exhaust as standard equipment to signature model to increase horsepower. always bought cadillacs since 1961.last car i traded in on the lincoln was a 1994 fleetwood. i did not like any 01 cadillacs, i drove the 01 deville. when i saw the 01 lincoln with the mock top, chrome wheelwell moldings, moonroof in all black, i must say it really impressed me.i never drove a lincoln. the ride and smoothness of the drivetrain and the brake and gas pedals move up or down 2 to 3" with a switch on the dash,i was again impressed.it is well thought out with features like heated seats, heated outside rearview mirrors,6 way power seats/lumbar w/controls on both front doors.auto dim rearview mirror.compass, traction control, extra acc plugin for phone/radar dect, alpine 6 cd player w/dsp,am/fm ant in window, fullsize spare, huge glovebox, wow! Similar Products Used: cadillac, jaguar. for 2001 and for a person who wouldn't ever want to buy a lincoln, this car sold me! |
