Lincoln LS
Strength:
Fast, Quick, and good looking. Best dollar value!
Weakness:
A few design defects (back windows), original engine coils. Great Automobile! This baby drives like a rocket and looks classier than a Beamer. I don't like the back of the 2004 models (less sporty). It has been in the shop a few times for small problems (most fixed under 4 year warrantee). My Ford repair shop fixed some known problems BEFORE they became an issure. Way to go Ford!! Lincoln LS V6 automatic
Strength:
Good looking, luxury and sporty handling.
Weakness:
Driveshaft vibration at high speed. My wife loves it and drives it everyday. It had several minor problems (all fixed) but has an annoying driveshaft vibration above 70mph that the dealer and maker refused to fix completely. They replace the driveshaft and it's better but still worse than any car I've owned in the past. I wouldn't buy it again. |

Lincoln LS V-8
Strength:
Rides well on the highway, and the auto adjusting tilt/telescoping steering wheel.
Weakness:
Car required multiple attempts to start when hot. Chrome allow wheel was damaged in the inside and required replacement. Seat backs constantly fall off. Front grill panel fell off. Poor customer response from Lincoln/Ford. Overall subpar fit and finish compared to imports in the same class. Purchased this car new with the V-8 sports package and it turned into a nightmare. The car became very difficult to start after it was driven and shutdown for two hours (hot start problem). I took the vehicle in for warranty repair 11 times without success. Ford had engineers and their executive office involved, and no repair was successful. I had to take them to arbitration to get a refund on the vehicle because they said they could not repair the car, and would not replace it. Other problems included a noisy air conditioner that could be heard inside of the car, a damaged chrome alloy wheel(replaced by Lincoln), seat backs that constantly fall off, and a front panel that fell off the car. lincoln ls v-8
Strength:
Exterior appearance, handling
Weakness:
Transmission is choppy and already needs service with only 3000 miles on it. Parts need to be ordered requiring a second visit to the dealer. It was delivered with an inoperable rear door exterior handle and interior trunk panels unfastened. Seats are very hard and the steering wheel controls are very limited. The trunk and fuel door switches are not lit, rear leg room is non existant, fuel economy is low and the blowers for the heated seats are extremely loud. The delay feature for the headlights is not easily adjustable and the trip reset buttons are old fashioned and hard to reach. Although handling is good the ride can be quite harsh on anything but a newly paved road or an interstate highway. Overall the car feels tight and solid but lacks some basic comforts one would expect in a vehicle listing for $48000.00. Also quality issues have presented themselves from the outset of purchase. Looks nice
Weakness:
Too many problems This is the worst car. I have had so many problems - latest all eight coils had to be replaced. Head casket problems, seat won't heat, cup holder broke, it seems like this car is in for repair every other month. Too many problems |

Strength:
Very smooth comfortable ride. I have driven other cars and I do not get a back ache in this one.
Weakness:
Needs more storage and better cup holders. Beautiful car. Only problem was a window mechanism in the back door had to be replaced. I was involved in an accident at 7 months in it and was saved by my car. I held up very well. I am going today to purchase another one. I love the LS. Similar Products Used: Ford Tauras, Acura TL |

Strength:
Handles well. Heated and cooled seats are a blessing. Decent stereo system. The leather notebook was creative.
Weakness:
Consistent spark knock under load. Lincoln cannot fix. Loss of power in upper range. Inside moldings still have plastic flash. Over priced for the value anticipated and marketed by Ford. Odometer registers 105 km's when actual is 100 km's Transmission could shift better and the auto stick is a useless add on. Lack of overall performance.Lack of assistance from Ford on vehicle warranty. Dealer was good. Nice looking car. Leased it with the knowledge that Lincoln backs it's products and have been a ford owner for 25 years. 4 adults is too much for the vehicle. Controls overall are adequate but not outstanding of rthe price. Getting in and out of the vehicle could be a problem for older people or someone with a hip problem. I like the looks but not the value. Similar Products Used: First luxury vehicle |

LS
Strength:
I love the design, inside and out. Its very simple yet attractive, My idea of elegant. The drive is very tight and controlled while never letting you forget its a luxury car. The suspension is so well engineered. The car is very quiet, a major step up over the 2000, but allows a nice muscular ripping sound in from the engine when you hammer it. The THX sound system is crystal clear and powerful. 280 horse power eliminates any stress during passing or freeway onramps.
Weakness:
Seats are good but I'd like more fluff under my fanny. A bit of fatique gets through on long drives. ( 6'3'' 230 LBS ). Could the transmission be a bit smoother and quicker? The Cadillac was better in that respect. Price a little high, 48K MSRP was out of the question. No problems after 4 months so lets just leave it at my tranny complaint. Smooth those shifts out just a touch. This is my second LS. I put 54K trouble free miles on my 2000 and Only shopped the E320 and DTS before deciding on another LS. The 2003 is definately superior to the older models. It feels tighter, higher quality, better power train. The steering is also a bit more precise. Overall this car is competative with anything out there. Similar Products Used: Cadillac. Infiniti. |

LS V8 Sport
Strength:
Where do you start? The whole think is a "strength" Owner support through the club is a major bonus. Handling is world-class. Comfortable on the highway and easily controllable on the track. Very versatile. Good milage (18/25 MPG) for a two-ton car with a 250 HP V8.
Weakness:
Lack of a manual for the V8. This is by FAR the best car we have ever owned or even driven. It seems to do everything just right. In this car I have driven 1000 mile trips without fatigue and I have also raced it successfully on a road course. For the money, you can't do better. Period. I listen to lots of people complain that this is the worst car they ever had. These people have had bad luck. I am a member of a 1500+ member LS owners club and I can say with some authority that their experiences are VERY unusual. My wife is looking to get one of these for herself and I will be getting another when I use this one up! I'm currently at 65K miles with NO problems. Similar Products Used: Name it. If it's domestic, I've driven it. |
