This 2000 LS V-8 model has so many major & minor problems.
My LS have replace the whole differential gear , Even after fit it, ther is still lots of noise on the speed 50 miles hour.
Driver side safety belt's tention is not enough and always tangle in door panel which make door damage.
Fan was defect in moisture sensor windshield area and replaced it, but still wind noise there.
I like this car only on engine power and smooth suspention and accurate all traction control.
I'm not recommand this car.

Strength:

great handling
excellent steering and brakes
powerful engine for a v6
nice style

Weakness:

noisy on the hwy
mediocre sound system (no speaker in the rear)
rear power windows break
transmission problems

I brought the car previously owned in january 2001 with 39k miles. I was impressed with how nice it felt to drive having had it in the shop twice for broken back power windows and now the transmission may be going out,I regret the purchase.
I love the way it handles and the steering, brakes and the control I have drving it. However its a bit noisy on the hwy and the Corolla I'm renting has a better sound system it then my LS and the big picture my transmission is giving me problems.

I say owner beware if your lincoln ls is pushing 50,000 miles or more.

The first 7 month were wonderful but after the car reached 50k miles I'm having problems with the auto-transmission. When shifting gears from park to drive it jerks, bucks it a horse. It is especially bad when it is put in reverse. That feels like the car is trying to jump into two gear at the same time. presently in the shop.

Strength:

Performance and handling are surprisingly responsive. Other features such as one-touch moonroof, in-dash CD changer, heated seats and other luxo creature comforts make this car a real deal for the money.

Weakness:

The only problem I've had is an occasional cricket-like squeak from one of the rear passenger doors.

I needed a larger vehicle than the '95 Mitsubishi 3000GT I owned but didn't want to loose the performance and handling. After road-testing and checking out several other vehicles, I found the Lincoln LS came closest to meeting all of my requirements: good performance and handling, enough interior space for two adults and three kids, adequate trunk space and plenty of luxo features.

I road-tested a Mercedes E-class, BMW 5-series and looked at the Lexus GS430 and Jaguar S-type. For the price, performance and interior space, the Lincoln couldn't be beat.

Strength:

the ride, the body style, and toys

Weakness:

Run thru gas like its water

The most impressive car I ever seen. I always love the ride of a Linclon, but I didnt like the style and models they had. When the LS came out I knew I had to get one. What can I say its a sporty car with all the toys and still have the luxury of a Linclon..

I compare it to the 300M, 3.2TL, and mazda 626 and i think the LS out beat them all with no contest...
