Lincoln Continental
Strength:
Power, smoothness of transmission shifting fuel economy, much more than expected about 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, looks both exterior and interior are beautiful, guages and controls are easy to understand and operate
Weakness:
The only weakness I see so far and it is not a weakness of the car but a weakness of mine and that is the Premium Fuel requirement but when I evaluate it it only cost me about $4.00 more per fill-up than regular fuel so not a big weakness For the last (40) years all I have ever owned is pick-up trucks, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, my favorite always being a Ford, so I thought long and hard before the purchase of this vehicle, I think it fits my personality, a luxury car that I never expected to own but for the price and even though this car is (12) years old it is flawless both inside and out. The Dealer even provided the name and phone number of the only previous owner, with their permission, and I feel confident that this car will last me easily for the next 10 to 15 years especially since I am such a fanatic about the care of the vehicles I own. The first time I had to parallel park my car when I shifted into reverse the mirrors angled down showing me the curb making backing up much easier.
Weakness:
handles like a boat... I just got this car and it is the best car I have ever had. It is a Red Lincoln Continental when I got the car I thought that I was getting a grandma car but once I hit the throttle I was surprised at the response and the amount of power the car had.

lot of car for the money, sweet dohc v8, options are great, rides nice, lots of room
Weakness:
parts and maintenance can be a little pricey. I had this car back in 2002, but i may be looking to getting another one in the near future. i bought the car back in '02 with around 70K mi. on it for around $12K. i must say that overall the car was great. the interior is fantastic. heated seats are nice for midwest winters. stereo/cd changer sounded good, moonroof is nice in the spring/fall weather, v8 is smooth, sounds nice and i got up to 26mpg on highway (my cavalier only gets around that much). i had no major issues. car needed an alignment, and ate up the front tires, but thats just part of maintnence. also had some spark knock, but the car had over 100K and needed a tuneup. i believe a new set of plugs would have taken care of it. very nice car, good quality, tons of options, nice ride, sweet engine for little money (the same car now can be bought for around $5K!!) i would love to have another one. |

that they have to be a ford product The 2001 is the third one I have owened in a year. My wife loves these cars. A year ago she had a 1995 got a 1998 and now a 2001. Since she likes them ,wanted as new as we could get. Sorry there not made any more. I cant believe ford made a car this good. 90-94 was worst cars ever built. The 95 up was too gooda car to be a ford product so they stoped making them. Out standing cars .Have seen up to 31mpg on 98. Strength:
Pretty reliable, especially in winter always started up! Good sound system, nice adjustable leather seats, roomy, huge trunk, stylish, heated mirrors ,nice roomy back seat.
Weakness:
v-6 engine, I have had this car for 2 and a half years now. It is a beautiful car but ive had to put alot of money into it! It had 79,000 miles on it when i bought it. I talked to previos owners who took well care of it and never had any problems. The first year i replaced a passenger side air shock and tie rod. I then replaced a thermostat. This year has been hell! I had to replace both back air shocks for 1200.00. Thge car would sink down after parking it. Then I had a antifreeze leak which turned out to be water pump and front cover which cost around 800.00 total. Then I had an airflow sensor go out which caused an alarm going off constantly. That cost me around 300.00 Now it is idling very rough. It rocks back and forth at stoplights. I tried using a fuel injector cleaner to see if that will help. Other than that I did have one dash light go out which is the message center. Working components still work but to save a little money I shine a flashlight into it when alarm goes off to see what it says!!!! I do get it oil changes right on the dot at the dealership and they do inspections then. If you have your horn go out and cant get your gas lid to pop open its a fuse! I found that out yesterday and its a #20 orange. I love this car and I now have 134000 miles on it! I most likely will continue to pay what it needs to keep her on the road. Shes a light blue and pretty! Nicest car Ive ever had and the sound system is great. I would not recommend this year though! V-6 wasnt good engine for this car!!! The air conditioning and heat still work excellent in this car also. Similar Products Used: 1991 cadillac deville |

Continental
Strength:
Silky smooth V8, comfortable interior, fit and finish top notch, high end stock stereo, bargain of the year for a luxury cruiser.
Weakness:
none to report The Continental is a bargain worth searching. The features on this car are top notch from the silky smooth V8 to all the creature comforts of the interior. I averaged 26.8 mpg on a recent 300 mile trip with the air on. The Alpine sound system is great and with the controls on the steering wheel make it a snap to change settings safely. The 275 hp V8 moves out this luxury sedan adequately. |

Strength:
fit and finish is of quality appearance. Super performance, great ride
Weakness:
If any, maybe the fact of using high grade fuel, but the car is worth every penny of the cost to burn this fuel This is my first Ford product in about 8 years. I have had GM products in the past and decided to try out a Lincoln. This Continental had 17000 miles on it when i bought it. This car is a dream to drive with great performance and super fuel economy. I can not believe anyone could say anything bad about this car. The fit and trim on this car is so much better than Cadillac. I will have to say Ford has won me over and Cadillac need to go back to the drawing board about their workmanship. Handling Quality Fit and Finish on interior and exterior Sound System Engine Performance Driveability
Weakness:
They've been discontinued - don't expect a high resale value. This is an absolutely beautiful car that I purchased brand new off the showroom floor. They had stopped making the Continental, and the dealer only had four left, and I got an unbelieveable deal on the car. Sticker price was $42,000. With my trade, I paid under $17,000. It has a driver select system which allows me to choose the type of handling I want, and plenty of luxury bells and whistles. The front wheel drive is unbeatable in the snow and rain, the virtual display and leather interior make it a very comfortable car to drive, and I don't get tired after long rides. Everything is top quality, and it is definitely not an old man's car. I love the way the automatic trans shifts when you accelerate hard, and the deep growl it makes. The 275HP all-aluminum DOHC 4.6L really makes this car move. I've had it for almost two years, and I've never had any warranty work that had to be done. Lincoln provides free maintenance (oil, brakes, filters, wiper blades, etc.) for the first 40,000 miles (they only offer it for 12,000 now). I would recommend this car to anyone. Unfortunately, you can only buy them used now, but you can get a great bargain.
