Strength:

slick styling

Weakness:

reliability, performance, and the price of parts is unreal.

not as reliable as I thought it would be. It is underpowered and as the years go by it seems like the engine is losing compression.

Strength:

The car has a firm, but comfortable ride and handles extremely well. The V-8 engine provides all of the power that I need. Since the "lines" have remained very stylish, I regularly have people ask me if the car is new. I have had Mercedes and a variety of other cars, but clearly this is the best car that I have ever owned.

Weakness:

My only complaint is that it is a little expensive to maintain, but so is a BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, etc.

In my opinion, this car is as close to being perfect as any within the price range.

For the price, I am not sure if anything really compares.

Strength:

Great acceleration, looks incredible, lots of back seat room, and very reliable

Weakness:

Parts can be expensive and it takes top level gasoline, but no killer infirmities in this car

If you want a smooth ride in a great looking car, this is for you. It has the most room I've ever seen for the backseat of a 4-seater, and I'm pretty sure most of them come with leather interior. The whole interior and exterior of the car coalesce and flow together to create one of the most beautiful cars around, and its ride is just as good. Also, it can be bought fairly cheaply used. GREAT BUY!!!

Looks like a Nissan 240 SX, but better; rides as smoothly as any other Lexus, BMW, or Mercedes as far as I can tell

Strength:

Exterior finish is terrific. High Speed ride is commendable. Its got enough clearance to drive in New York City, I guess that explains the mushy suspension.

Weakness:

Severe Tire and Wind noise, TCM kicks in way to early to have any kind of sporty driving. 1st and 2nd gears are spastic but found it reasonable when I disable overdrive. Small rims and cheap tires. Cornering can be improved.

Its an even balance of sports car and a family sedan. I didn't expect any back seat room to begin with. The fuel tank located directly behind the rear seats is a hazard waiting to happen. Even though it has very thick and well protected firewall it gives me the chills. The car is very streetable but it stinks since it lacks any kind of front bumper protection. I wanted to keep the under the hood clean but the connections are not water resistant so it takes me hours to clean under the hood. Its got very slushy lagging muffler sound.... The car is a all around on-road vehicle with style and reliability. Take care of the seals and keep under the hood clean and the car will last for-ever.... Its worth the money only if you buy it under $20K around 50,000 miles don't matter what year

Strength:

Strong acceleration, good looks, Lexus quality.

Weakness:

ALternator went out at 33k. Small front seats. Stiff front shocks.

I purchased this car from an older couple. They never drove it. I paid 17k, It only has 42,000(original) miles on the clock. The car was always garaged so its in prime conditon. (From reading other reviews I see alot of people had to replace their power steering pump and alternator, if any one can give some input as to why this happens!)
Other than that the car is great. I get alot of attention.

Strength:

Looks Good

Weakness:

Terrible reliability. Parts cost more than than any car I have ever owned, including MBZ

This has been the worst car I have ever owned. A "certified" Lexus from Longo in El Monte CA. Hade 40k miles on it when bought. In less than one year I have replaced: The power steering pump & alternator, the gauge cluster (lighted dial burned out), the seat memory control, the driver power window mechanisim, an oxygen sensor, the battery, a headlight (leaked moisture), the motor mounts... more but my head hurts from thinking about the money I threw away on this piece of crap. Lexus customer service wanted to give me $500.00 towards a new car for compensation. I would never ever buy a Lexus again....HYPE CITY!!

Strength:

Comfort, handling, fit and finish, beautiful design, and powerful

Weakness:

Hard to find a weakness - perhaps back seat if you need one often

Bought the car in 1992 - still love it after 8 years - that ought to tell you something. While I could afford a new car, it's hard to part with this one. Outside of tires and usual maintenance items, I've spent perhaps $3,000 over the 8 yrs on repairs not covered by warranty. Added Borla exhaust, K & N filter and chrome wheels to keep me happy. It still hasn't got a squeak or rattle and looks like new.
