Strength:
I am totally in love with my 2000 I30T. The base MSRP was $31,540 plus $1,000 for the sport package (rear spoiler and side skirts), $718 for 6 disk CD changer, and a $525 destination charge, making it a grand total of $33,783. I was able to knock $2,100 off the price, which was a lot better than any of the competitors were willing to do. In my opinion, the Infiniti I30T is a better buy because you are getting one of the top 10 engines in the world, good looks, luxury, and an exceptional price. This car definitely is better than the Lexus ES300, which is basically a dressed up camery, and a better buy than the Acura 3.2TL. The Infiniti dealership on Stevens Creek had cars in stock, unlike the Acura dealership which didn't.
Weakness:
The instrument guages are hard to read when direct sunlight hits them. Also, the side skirts are okay, but I wish Infiniti made a sportier ground effects kit to give the car a sportier look. Perhaps similar to the ground effects that some of the BMW M3's have. I feel that the price I paid was a fair price. I would totally recommend it. Similar Products Used: Lexus ES300 (didn't compare), Acura 3.2TL (none in stock), Nissan Maxima (SE is nice, but only liked it in 2 colors, which are high maintenance colors- so forget it), Audi A4 (people at dealership were not too friendly, the car is too small for a family, and overpriced). |

I enjoy the comfort and ride quality, I previously owned a convertible mustang 5.0 and it was loud and fast. I wanted a change and wanted something a little more luxury along with a little pep to it. The potential for making it look like a benz is outstanding. I own a black I30, I tinted the windows super dark, put 18" chrome wheels on it and also added clear side marker light...boy does it have a totally different look. It is competing with the mercedes when it comes to looks.
Weakness:
The doors are real weak, it dosen't take much for a big dent to occur, it seems like my car is always at the paintless dent shop. I cant stand flaws in my car..... but other that that I am pleased with it I am pleased with the I30 and the whole infiniti experience, I think my next car is going to be a Q45 because it is a little bigger and more luxury looking plus the v8 is a must.. But the value/quality ratio you cant beat the I30 Similar Products Used: nissan maxima, lexus es300 |

Got a great deal from the dealer 3% over invoice. Vehicle is perfect. Smooth ride, responsive engine and very roomy.
Weakness:
Small blindspot caused by rear headrest. Optional rubber floor mats would have been good. Dealer didn't have them. You can't go wrong with this vehicle. Similar Products Used: No Comparison |

Strength:
Very well built car. Not bad looking. Great power and value. I'm taller and I fit in this car, unlike Acura 3.2tl or Lexus es300,Is300. "T" handles great in the mountains.
Weakness:
My only complaint is a big one for me. The ride on rougher stretches of road/hiway is terrible. Jarring to say the least I have been told that it is a combination of the 17" wheels and the traction control. I owned a '96 Maxima SE before this and it rode pretty well even tho it had the sport suspension. I just can't figure out how they let this slip by. My mistake was not taking the car on a longer test drive. I was going to buy a new i30 but saw this low mileage 98 on the lot and really liked it. I figured that it would ride like my Maxima. BIG MISTAKE! Anyway, I'm going to try some things to soften the ride a little bit and see what happens. Otherwise the car is great. I like everything about this car EXCEPT the ride. I am a sales rep and I spend half the day in the car so the ride is soo important. Infiniti dealer here is great(2nd Infiniti I've owned)but I will definitely take a longer test drive the next time I but any car. But, if you drive where there are no rough roads and like taking corners at a very high rate of speed while enjoying your heated seats and Bose cd player then this is the car for you! I would buy this car again in a heartbeat if it only wasn't so stiff riding. Good price, head exterior look, power seat, sterio, power engine, roomy, handling
Weakness:
Rochester, New York (Doan and Dorschel) services are sucked; It took 7 months to fix the window scrolling problems; Not really quite; feel rough underneath of my feet when accelarated; cheap interior and ugly rear look. Should have heat side mirrors features Overall, it's ok for the money. Hope Nissan improves this model in the next years to come. Similar Products Used: Maxima (Build on the Maxima platform) |

Strength:
Engine - good acceleration, smooth, quiet
Weakness:
Rear visibility - rear headrests create small blind spots I was moderately happy with my Acura TL. However, I felt that, for the price ($29K, with no area dealer who would budge below MSRP), the car should not rattle when driven over smooth pavement. The dealer was unable to resolve this problem. I also felt that the overall build quality could have been better. Similar Products Used: '99 Acura TL had faster acceleration, shaded moonroof, but a quirky shifter, no folding rear seat, LOTS of rattles |

Looks great, fit and finish are excellent, I'm a large man and this car has plenty of room all around, feels much larger inside than it looks outside. Very comfortable and solid feeling ride. Navigation works excellent , amazingly accurate here in so. cal. Buy this car if you're considering an entry luxury, you can't go wrong
Weakness:
None, well, traction control should be standard equip. This is a great car, I love everything about it. Bought through autobytel.com for 30,300.00 w/ nav. and guards. Good deal, I think. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Best car in the entry level luxury division. Interior is very luxurious and roomy. Bose system is incredible. Engine is awesome...ride is quiet and the V-6 can kick in if needed. Love the radio controls on the steering wheels. Rear shade is a neat gadget.
Weakness:
Can't really think of anything...possible exception is the exterior styling. It is a little conservative but I still love it. The I30 is an amazing car. For under 30K, you get the best entry luxury car out there. The moment I test drove the I30, I basically knew this car was it for me. Infiniti dealership was top-notch. I look forward to the daily commutes now...the engine is so smooth and the ride is exceptional. Like the advertisement says, "own one and you will understand". Enjoy the ride, fellow I30 owners! Similar Products Used: Test drove the Lexus ES300 and Acura TL. ES300 is a nice car but about 4 -5K more expensive after adding the options...definitely not worth the extra money. The TL is a little sportier but the interior seemed a little less refined especially the wood panel...and the leather seats were not very comfortable. |

Strength:
Electric rear sunshade, Bose stereo, memory seats, climate control, price, 227 horsepower
Weakness:
Rearview mirror's auto feature takes longer than it should to dim other's headlights, Bose stereo has lots of bass, but doesn't get REALLY loud. Well, I got a steal of a deal on this 2000 w/ 22k miles. I was looking at the Maxima but the price used was comparable and the Infiniti has a sweet warranty (4 years, 60k miles), I am not the normal Infiniti owner, I am a 23 year old college student, but this car has everything that makes it fun to drive and show off, and the price is not bad. The bass from the Bose deck has caused interior trim to rattle, even at only 22,000 miles. If you get this car and love technology, you'll probably be pushing that small button on the center console alot. This is for the power rear sunshade. Make some friends watch it go up and down and they'll be envious! This is usually installed on Mercedes' that start at 70 grand. Small touches like that are what makes this car so nice. There are only a few minor gripes I have about this car. I would recommend it to anyone! Similar Products Used: Last car was a 95 Jeep Cherokee lifted 5 inches. This car is heaven. |

ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, STEREO, LUXURY CONTENT, HEADLIGHTS (HID), FIT AND FINISH, VALUE!
Weakness:
FAUX WOOD INTERIOR ACCENTS, CHEAP PLASTIC BEZELS AROUND SOME INTERIOR SWITCHES, NO PLACE FOR NAV IN DASH SPACE, SCARCE DEALERSHIPS. This car is unmatched in it's segment. There are few weaknesses and so many strengths and it is the value leader among it's competitors. The Acura listed for less, but the dealers will not discount them. I ended up paying $31000 including all taxes and fees for a 2000 I30t with everything but the nav and the spoilers. The only weakness is that the INFINITI brass thought it was better to save a few hundred rather than go all out with the interior. Real wood and better materials in some places would have made this car untouchable! Overall the quality and reliability of Nissan's product is superb. The name might not roll off the tounge like "LEXUS", but with my money, I want more than just a name. This is it! Similar Products Used: None |
