Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 dodge avenger

Summary:
did anyone when developing this car ever drive it? i bet the answer is no, going down the road i thought i would get a little air by rolling down a rear window, and lo and behold the interior started to have a pressure thump so bad my ear drums hurt! somone dropped a ball here for sure. for pickup and go, again they dropped the ball, i couldn't pass a car with it no matter what the circumstances meant i got stuck behind people on single lane side going 45mph in a 65mph for miles. well that just darn near scares me. same goes for getting on the freeway, couldn't even manage to get up to speed on a onramp. was glad i just had it for only a month and traded it in.

Strengths:
looks are good

Weaknesses:
uncomfortable seats, no power when accelerating, tire pressure sensors need work(read low when they were ok) gas mileage not what stated, not even close.cabin pressure thump when a window is opened in the rear, and other windows closed.

Similar Products Used:
traded for a ford focus after having it a month. much better in all departments.

Review 3 of 282

Price Paid:  $14000.00 from Gary Miller Dodge, E

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 Avenger SXT V6

Summary:
Aside from what I think of the dealership i purchased it from, this is what i think about the car. AN AWFUL PRODUCT. The interior is terribly cheap for a Dodge product. This car appears to be at the beginning of a 'work in progress' on the design table. It should have been left on the table until complete to spare us the misery of ownership. I purchased the car used as a ceertified vehicle with 16000 miles. The transmission chirps when decelerating and chugs at steady low rpms. The service department said this was normal and that all the 08 Avengers did this. Unacceptable. I have not driven another to confirm. The right rear door will not open from the outside. Owning this car was a huge mistake. Put it on the do not buy list and especially do not buy it from Gary Miller Dodge in Erie, Pa

Strengths:
Exterior styling

Weaknesses:
Interior is cheap. Quality overall is bad. Transmission trouble. Customer service lacks CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Review 5 of 282

Price Paid:  $22000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 R/T Coupe

Summary:
After years driving an SUV this thing is a joy to drive. It's gonna be hard to beat the bang for your buck with this car. For 22K I got a car with everything except a sunroof try that with a camry or maxima. I only hope it last as long as my last Nissan did.

Strengths:
The "Venge" has been renamed the Stratus Coupe for 2001 and is actually a Mitsubishi Eclipse with different sheet metal. The car drives great, and has the power the old venge was missing. It ain't no V-8 but it would not take much work to make this thing really scream. I test drove the stick and loved it, what a beautiful manual tranny! But I had to get the auto-stick cause the wife cant drive a stick. The auto-stick tranny is nice too it shifts very smoothly and it's fun to use the "stick" feature. The stock stereo is very good too.

Weaknesses:
If I have one gripe it's the lame-ass location of the second fron cup holder. I have to put the armrest up if my passenger wants a soda??
The interior materials could have been a little nicer too, although the leather seats are nice. Oh for $1000 I think Dodge should put electric controls on the passeger seat too.

Similar Products Used:
Solara, Passat, Maxima, Accord, Test drove em all many times. The R/T handles better than them all. It does not ride as smooth as the Solar or Maxima but it is supposed to be a "sports car" and not a family sedan. Its Thousands less than the others though and there is no comparison in the looks dept
