Strength:

response is tight, accurate w/o being too "melodramatic" over potholes and speed bumps. a very underrated strut. great value.

Weakness:

in the first few weeks, i hit a HUGE crack in the road some construction workers never evened out (3.5" step) and it cracked my driver''s rear strut perch right off. free xchange. paid for s&h, though.

i bought these when i was next to broke to help out the ride with my maxspeed coilo''s as a temporary solution. the ride was still too nasty. recently traded up the coils to eibach pro''s. these struts accent the ride beautifully; impressed me enough to keep my temporary solution... just a little longer.

Strength:

Cheap price, ALOT BETTER than TOKICO, and those Monroe/Moron shocks

Weakness:

nothing YET

Got these shock for my friends car. Goes with H&R sports spring. The combination did make any different with comfort but much improved cornering compare to stock. Not sure if it''s the spring or the stocks though

Strength:

They were cheap.

Weakness:

Wrong choice for lowering springs, Do not buy them they suck!!!

I got these struts because a friend said they were good with lowering springs. Let me tell you, they suck with lowering springs. Not enough firmness, way to soft for lowering springs. The car bounces allot. They do ride as good as factory, but their way to soft, not high performance at all. I''m going to get bilstein sports as soon as I can.

Strength:

Stiff ride, shorter then stock, great with the H&R Springs

Weakness:

Have to compress the springs in order to get them on. If I was going to put the springs on the stock struct they would just slip on

If you are planning to put these on you Grand Am WAIT.....I would wait till you get your hands on the rear just because it is a pain in the neck to change these in your driveway. I was lucky to find a pair of rear ones. KYB has my my ride 100% better and I would buy them again with out even looking at other options. On top of all this the PRICE IS UNBEATABLE (if you go to www.tirerack.com

Strength:

better turning and handling on corners

Weakness:

loss of comfort especiall on rough/rugged roads

i've only had them for a month or so on my altima, but i can definitely feel the difference in the car's handling. it's matched up with a set of eibach pro kit, and it's a great combo. if you're a performance person rather than a luxury person, you'll be happy with KYB.

Strength:

Is Basically a shock

Weakness:

Does not do an above-average job

This shock rides basically like a Monroe low-cost unit. I was disappointed that the ride was rather soft. I thought "KYB" meant "better-handling", but apparently not in the GR-2 series.

Strength:

Stiff, handle lowering well, not too pricey, will probably last awhile.

Weakness:

The "incident" with the rear shocks was not good.

I put GR-2 shocks and struts on my car after purchasing lowering springs (1.75" drop). They handle the added stress of lowering very well, and provide nice, positive damping. They've been trouble-free with one exception... a couple of months after installing the rear shocks, I noticed my ride was terrible and my handling had degraded. The rear suspension bottomed regularly, my wheelwells sometimes scraped my tires, and the rear of the car seemed very bouncy. I eventually removed my backseat so I could look at the rear shock towers. The piston rods were sticking up about 6 inches! A few minor tweaks during re-installation fixed the problem, and it hasn't returned since.

Similar Products Used:

Stock - these are much better than stock, especially on a lowered car.
